Sidekick Nick Landes, at it again

Post by sidekick »

I've decided that I want some creative input from other freestlyers on what I should be trying to do. It's not that I don't have enough to work on (believe me!) it's just that I want to know what other people think looks cool, and it will give me a chance to drill some stuff I don't normally do. Hopefully I can depend upon the modified community to give a little inspiration and more pizazz to my game. Any kind of trick is welcome (dragon moves especially), so post away, and I'll work on the stuff during solo session time (about 2-3 times per week if everything goes well)

===============================================
1. Dragon set flurry
2. Dragon barraging (deranged) mirage (did you mean same side or fury starting with dragon?)
3. Doof to Doof atw
4. Stepping same flurry (good suggestion)
5. Nuke DLO (I may have already hit this, but I'll be sure to do it soon)
6. Make BAP (the main point of this thread is to help make BAP, so keeping this goal in mind will be good)
7. Nuke Symp whirl (only tried a few times)
8. Dragon set PS Whirl/Whirlygig
9. Quantum (already being worked on, but thanks for the reenforcement)
10. Illusion dexes [flail, flux, grifter, eggbeater variations] (another great suggestion that I've been skooling for a while)
11. 15 kicking contacts with a net bag (just normal kicks, or trick kicks... firstly I need a net bag...)
12. 50 contacts of spinning and ducking only (does osis count?)
13. Blurry Whirr (who do you think I am, Vasek? I'll try anyhow...)
14. downtime barraging tricks [flurry, HP drifter, barroque] (my own challenge)
15. Atomic ss flurry

Dude, don't worry about what other people think is cool! Your style is awesome :P

Your style is very compact and efficient, all dexes are super tight. If I could point out one thing I've noticed it's predominantly "hippy" moves like drifters, atomic/nuke, barrages etc. It would be cool to see some "leggy" stuff like quantum set, eggbeaters, flails, maybe grifters or fluxes. Even just stuff like blizzard or pdx omelette in place of blur or sumo would be cool for some variation.

P.S. Finnegan is doing awesome.

EDIT

P.P.S. My dog ate Finnegan :(  :? :x    :(

Wow, thanks for all the positive responses! I've updated the first post with the stuff that I'm gonna try to hit tomorrow, and any questions that I had about the post or challenge in general. I'll post the dates of anything that I actually do hit. You guys are a tough crowd, which is exactly what I need to push myself further. Thanks again everyone :D

I meant set FROM on dragon PS Whirl, sorry.

If you can do both that would be insane.

Blurry Whirr should be (in theory) easier than Pdx. Whirr since you can start the dexes faster.

That's what I thought, but if you saw how I hit pdx whirr it's a little different becuase I do it really high, and to get the power that is needed to get both dexes clean after a stepping set is hard because of the plant inbetween. I'll work on it though :D

sesh today:

HIT
Dragon set flurry (took a few tries)
Dragon set PS Whirl (took a lot of tries)
Nuke DLO (second try, almost BSOS)

CLOSE
Nuke Symp Whirl off my foot (the pdx verson, I don't know if he ment same side)
Atomic ss Flurry (still needs work)
50 spin/duck run (got to 42, but then realized I was doing osis too much and being a panzy about it. I used osis about 1 out of every 6 tricks)
Deranged Mirage off my foot first and only try (deranged = dragon furious for those who don't know :) )

WORK
Quantum - Far Tap > Slap Down > rpt (first try mid string)
Slapping Legover > Eggbeater (bs, but not rpt)
Quantum Legover > Pixie Legover (same deal as above)

Illusions - Pdx whirl > Bubbabeater > Dimwalk > rpt
Grifter bsos (finally)

Barrage - Flurry bsos
Worked on Downtime Highplains drifter (got it one side, and almost hit double vortex)
Pdx barrage getting much easier (I'll start to look into pdx flurry more, I've hit a few times, but not consistant)

I'll update the list when I get more challenges and send some out later as well (that means you janis), cuz it's late and I need to get to bed. Good sesh btw, and thanks to everyone who gave me some new ideas :D
