Shredito!

Post by Pengu »

Yeah, that's right. Matt and I were talking about this while in Montreal.

I'm not hispanic, why should I be called a shredita?

All male footbaggers should thus be called shreditos.

hahahahahahahaha! I am a shredito!!!

oh man... I like "shredder" or "freestyler" or "kicker" or any other non-gender-specific title over shredita / shredito. Anyone else prefer using the same title for both male and female players? besides peng ;)

[Moved to General Footbag]

I don't mind if other women identify themselves as shreditas. I don't think I've ever identified myself as one because I don't like the term shredita. I told one of my friends that female players are called shreditas and he asked, "Doesn't 'ita' mean mini?" I don't know, but I don't feel the need to have a separate title. As far as I'm aware, female jugglers and basketball players are just called jugglers and basketball players.

BUT, I wasn't around when Shreditas.com was created so I don't know what the scene was like. Maybe women wanted to have their own title. I do know that when I found Shreditas.com I was amazed that there were female players (I had never seen any before) and that they were good. :-) I don't want to sound like disliking the term shredita is saying anything against Jane or her ex-site.

This topic was a kind of joke. I don't think it's serious enough to be in general footbag.

I just thought "shredito" was hilarious when we talked about it. Was this supposed to be discussed?

Can this please be moved to the Discussion forum, so we can all swear at each other?

I could be wrong, but I think Shredita would mean "little female shred" or something like that.
