This is/was my final Advertising/Graphics project. We had to create a poster advertising something. The only requirements for this was that we had to use our own resources (as in, no stuff from online; Sorry Vasek.), and we had to make our own logos (which I think I did pretty good on), but you could pretty much choose anything to advertise.

The logos were made in Illustrator, and the photo was tweaked in PhotoShop.

I don't really need critiquing, since I've already hand it in (and this was a pretty crappy scan, some stuff got cut off and the quality is down), but if you must.

So, here is my Worlds 2007 poster, featuring who else, but:

Will is mid-Ripstein, and the photo was taken in Congress Park in downtown Saratoga (New York).

the photo has some filter on it, and it looks like theres a filter, so thats bad. it looks like sharpen, but idk. i would also blur the background...

the green words on green background is a no no.

the majority of the color palette is complementary, which is alittle too contrasty for most. (red, green).

the green stroke on the white words is a bad idea.

(merely a design comment, not meant to offend by any means)

im just trying to help you for later design. this flyer would look fine as a flyer, but as a poster, it probably wont fly.

Yeah, the text that had "Worlds" in it gave me a lot of trouble. Nothing would really look right. I don't really like the green, but it looked better than most other things.

did you make the IFPA logo and Disney logo in Illustrator, or are you talking about something else? Those are siiick replicas if they were made by you. Otherwise, which logos are you talking about?

Yep, IFPA and Disney were both drawn.

Disney was a bunch of brush strokes over and over.

IFPA started with a black box and a single green line, which basiclly got copied 25 times.

disney actually has it's own font. i know that doesnt help you now... but virtually all well-known logos have a font. (i.e. coca-cola, pizza hut, any movie, etc.)

also there are online companies that can figure out fonts for you. all you do is send them a jpeg or whatever and they find out what the font name is and let you know how to get it.

ps. do you have a high res. version of that will digges picture? i would like to play around with it and make my own poster. just for fun.

Part of the criteria for the project was that we had to draw the logos ourselves.
