Give it up for Laver.

Post by delakong »

Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh, so I'm bored and looking up random things and I just found out that Laver was the man. I don't play tennis, exept on the Wii, but he was the shit! Yeah, so that's pretty much all. Oh yeah, and if you haven't listened to Matt's music you should.

I heard this little story a few years ago about how Scott Davidson met Rod Laver (he's uber old, if still alive now?) and told him how great his shoes are for footbag, and Rod Laver was very disapproving.

You should be embarassed to say that, first of all he didn't even do anything bad. Two, without him there probably wouldn't even be half of the Footbag players right now and third, you shouldn't be happy that someone's dead...

And I'm also pretty sure that he's still alive and also, that story sounds kind of weird to me, it's pretty unlikely that he would've met Rod Laver, I wouldn't even recognise him.

I recently watched "The Avengers", which was really good, and he was in it; his only line was, like, "Oh fuck."

Rod Laver is from my home town, hence the nick name rocket rod laver.

I play squash tournaments at a town nearby which was owned by his brother and his now owned by his nephew and his wife.

I think next time i am there i might bust on the lavers and see what reaction i get.

I heard that Scott met Rod Laver, and asked him to sign his shoes, and Laver wouldn't.

Mr. Rod Laver seems like a giant dick-face. I say we find that old bastard and cut off his feet so he can't play footbag :)
