Sure no problem man. How much is it? Also, do we have 4 people in our room or three?

So, this past week has been both good and horribly bad.
Shred-wise, things are going ok. I'm doing alright I think. My Flip Atomic is so much stronger, yet it's still hard to link more than 2 Atomics after another, and repeated attempts have left my left leg with shin splints. I have been getting good at putting together longer runs with more variety though. Stepping is odd for me right now. Sometimes it works great, other times it doesn't want to cooperate. I guess I just need to keep practicing it, it's pretty much running the same course as Atomics did when I was learning them, which means that it will get better soon enough.
School is decent. I'm fairly confident I'll graduate. The only iffy part is English class. Oh well, whatever happens happens.
Monday is Renee's and my one month mark. I'm very pleased with how things are working between us. I'm glad things worked out the way they did at prom and beforehand.
There's a lot going on along the sidelines however as far as various life stuff goes. Life can be a bitch sometimes to the people you care about. 8 / And what's worse is when the most you can do, feels like nothing at all significant, when in reality it's more significant than you could imagine. There still remains that feeling of uselessness that is just utterly unbearable.

Today was pretty good in actuality. It started out really shitty. At lunch I couldn't hit a Butterfly for shit but later on I hit some neat stuff.
I filmed as well and I caught what will possibly be my Sick 1 entry for the online competitions provided I don't hit Atomic Dyno beforehand.
Highlights:
A really cool run that I feel great about where I start off with Tapdown and do some stuff then hit a Legbeater out of Paradox Mirage, which has never happened.
9 Contacts of Butterfly>Paradox Mirage>Rpt. New record for me.
6 Contacts of Butterfly>Dyno>Rpt. Another personal record.
Reactor!
Woot.
Lots of Double Legovers, one-sided but I'm working on Flip.
Lots of other cool runs.

Quick post today. Just highlights. I'm too lazy, grumpy, and whatever to do a usual post.
Atomic Opposite Pickup
Reactor again.
Some BSOS Spinning.
Diving Clipper a few times.
Toe Ducking Butterfly> Spinning Whirl.
And lastly, a knot in my calf muscle and a beast of a shin splint.

AHHHH,i hate calf knots.....oh boy that makes me cringe just thinking about it.
i remember when i was alway tring to keep up with you and i would check all of your posts to see what you hit then i would go outside and try to hit it. but now i think we have gone our seperate ways, i really went with ducking concepts which i am very fluent with now and i think you went with more sets like atomic and stuff. i think we are both benefiting from what we have learned. maybe im wrong about this, but just something i noticed
it kind of makes me sad because you started 6 months (HALF A YEAR) after me...and i feel like your so much betterm of course i did take 3 MONTHS off
your still better.
props on everything you have hit, im glad to see it.

Today was a really pleasant honestly. We recieved our yearbooks yesterday and though those things always depress the hell out of me when I read them, it was fun to sift through. There is a picture of my old Lavers, which look exactly like my current ones....same drawings and everything, on one of the pages. Pretty sweet. I got a lot of awesome messages from all of my friends, though my favorite was Renee's. She took up the entire front page. 8 P
So tomorrow is basically a chill day for seniors. We have the senior assembly and then the senior picnic which pretty much means, about 3 solid hours of Footbag in front of the Class of 2007.
And I'mm be able to play on the track so my shins will last longer. It's going to be hot though.
Anyways, no Footbag today other than a Spinning Legover by request because I want to keep my legs in halfway decent shape for tomorrow. Tons of highlights to be expected tomorrow afternoon.

Holy hell, that one will be tons of fun trying to hit heh.
Thanks though, that'll look sick when I hit it.
So, Friday turned out to be really shitty as far as the picnic went... We did the Senior Assembly which was as boring as I'd imagine anything could possibly be... Then we all went to the picnic where Siarhei and I ate some food they had there. He had BBQ while I had a Jersey Mikes Sub. Yum. Then he went off to chill with his bandmates while I proceeded to the track to play a bit. The track felt wonderful on my shins for a while then wore on me a bit but it was just as well because I went to throw the frisbee with Siarhei and his bandmates soon after.
I did get a good 40 minutes of play in front of the entirety of the Senior class though. I linked some Atomics, which hasn't happened in a while and finally after about 2 months hit Reverse Whirling Rake. I loved it. But other than that, nothing special hit.
Everyone was gone after an hour and a half and Siarhei and I were the last ones to leave the picnic save the staff. He went home while I went to 3rd lunch with Renee and then went to 4th period with her, which actually turned out to be a bit of fun so yeah.
Sweet.

Meh, I don't know what to make of the past few days. The weekend itself was just boring as hell and full of housework so that was far from exciting.
And Monday started off unbelievably slow and sped up a little bit in the end when I went shopping with Renee, interesting times, and played cards and chilled with my brother. No Footbag since Friday though. I don't even really feel it right now.
Today was my last full day of school. It bums me out honestly, not because of school itself being over but just missing the wonderful people I've met there. I don't know what to do with myself. Ugh. Exams tomorrow and Thursday and that's it. It feels so weird. Meh.
Everything is just a jumble. Going by much too fast for me.

Today was pretty sweet. First, I got to go into exams late due to me being exempt from first periods exam. Then I was able to chill with Renee at lunch... I get home and was actually pretty bored for a while. I went out for my first shred in 5 days and just got done. Epic.
I drilled a whole lot. Much more then usual. I managed to get the most contacts of Clipper>Paradox Mirage>Rpt. I've ever gotten. I didn't count but it went on for a few minutes. o_O I also worked on Stepping, just the set itself, no additional components. I also drilled Drifters, which need quite a good deal of work. Mine are scoopy. I want them to be like Juho's or Aric McIntosh's with a really nice cushion motion. I also tweaked Atomics and managed the most effortless Legbeater(Both sides), Tapdown(Both Sides), and Atomsmasher(One Side) that I've ever done.
Best thing about it though was that I finally managed Atomic Same Side Dyno and Corkscrew on camera. The delay on Corkscrew felt a little iffy so I need to check my camera but damn they felt good. I've been trying those for a month.
I might try a Neutron Set next time just for the hell of it. It sounds like fun.
*EDIT: Oh, and that Sharper Image job I was trying to snag back in February and March... I got a phone call today. I gots it.

Meh. Horribly shitty practice. I gave up after 20 minutes, if it even lasted that long. I didn't even hit, I didn't even attempt to, hit a single Dyno. 8 /
I hit Toe Reverse Whirling Rake after reading Erik C.'s blog, that's it though.
Actually, today itself was pretty shitty. The last exams were today so that technically means I'm done with highschool but I honestly feel nothing. Not happy. Just bummed and shitty. It's a mixture of a few reasons, the top one being my mother as usual. I honestly can't wait to be free of her unrelenting bullshit.
Oh, and I got the job at Sharper Image.

That's awesome about the Sharper Image job. That's a nice store. Sometimes I get my dad stuff from there. And you know, thinking back on my high school years, my dad and I *never* got along. It even got violent sometimes. But now that I've had 3 years away from him, out on my own, we get along pretty well. I think over time we've slowly tried to accept who the other one is. So, just something to think about.
I haven't really been shredding at all. I want to play this week though. I did watch Sick .03 with one of my frat brothers today, the one that plays sometimes.
If I head to Raleigh again I'll let you know but the next few weekends I think me and my friends are going to Myrtle Beach.

Thanks man. Just give me a shout if your up here, you have my number.
Ugh, such an exhausting everything.
Saturday was crazy. Started out slow but then I went to a Wrap Party for one of my brothers films. Started out ok, just chilling and talking. Then, around 10 something, my brothers girlfriend introduced me to a bottle of Buttershots that she had brought and we started out trying various mixtures with coffee and such, we emptied that bottle quickly. We then moved on to the Pomegranete(Spelling?) Vodka and tried various mixtures with both Limeade and Pomegranete Juice and emptied that bottle. Then moved on to a bottle of some Citrus wine? We mixed that around with Limeade and various other things. All the while though, we and 3 others were having the time of our lives making jokes about the Buttershots and various other bullshit like that. I can honestly say that I haven't laughed that hard in years. It was so much fun. I managed to get home by 2 though so I was ready for some shred Sunday.
Sunday was awesome as well. Josh, who currently works/resides at the Airforce base in Goldsboro came over for some shred and chill time. We did about and hour and a half in my garage as it was raining out and that was pretty cool. I helped him hit Whirl for the first time ever so that was even better. After that we took a trip to the mall where we planned to shred. Josh gave us about 5 minutes before we got kicked out. We never did. We played in about 5 spots and every spot people sat down to watch us, it was sick. I love it when people just sit and watch. And being a mall, there were LOTS of people. I hit a lot of cool things too. I hit my Sick 3 for the first time on the first try: Flip Legbeater>Far Dyno>Double Legover. I also hit some pretty sick combinations and runs. I also hit Atomic Same Side Dyno multiple times. We played some Guitar Hero too. I started to get a migraine though because I hadn't eaten since the party the night before so I put my head down and my blurred vision went away.
My eyes hurt though.
After that we went back to my place and watched Night At The Museum, where I dozed off and awoke with no pain in my head/eyes at all. After that he had to leave and I chilled the rest of the day.
Monday was my first day of work. My boss is so cool, and so are the other people there. I get paid training at 8/hour, though I can't get comission until my 30 hours of training are over but that's still a sweet deal. I worked 9am to 4pm and did the same thing yesterday. I like it so far. It's really fun.
Wow, I typed more than I expected to.
**EDIT: I forgot to add that I found out that I passed English, which means I'm graduating.
Graduation practice today and the real thing tomorrow, sweet.

Glad to hear you are graduating. That is very good news. I am tempted to ask what you are doing after graduation, but I'm sure you get that a lot so I will hold off. Besides, I already know the important thing, that whatever it is you will be playing lots of footbag

Meh, I'm hating my game right now, actually for the past few weeks I've really been bummed about it. I lack motivation, my game sucks, my strings sucks. I think the most contacts I've gotten in a run in 2 weeks was 6 at most? Ugh, my stamina is horrible too. The two sessions I've had on Saturday and today didn't pass 20 minutes before I was exhausted. I find drilling digustingly boring which results in me not doing it which in turn results in me not being consistent.
I don't honestly know what to do. I need suggestions on how to make drilling bearable, and something other than the thought that I'm getting better, I start all my drills with that thought and they normally end after 1 repeat or 4 drops, whichever comes first. I need motivation. I need to go back and learn/shool the basics I skipped like Flip Mirage, Around The Worlds, Illusion, shit like that.
There are a few good good things on the horizon though. I have a pair of Clima's arriving sometime after Wednesday and I hit Blur for the first time today.
But I am still feeling horribly negative about most aspects of my game.
That and the incredibly hot summer days don't make it any better, especially since I prefer to play in the 40's and 50's.

Stop bitching.
You are either really, really lucky, or practice really really hard to get that good that fast.
You've improved so much it's ridiculous. I guarantee that you'll be better than me by worlds (if you aren't already).
Also, drilling isn't as important as people make it out to be. Just shred.

Hey Alan,
You can make it more fun if you just make it more fun. Just start appreciating how awesome what you are doing really is, I guess once you realise that even a clipper is AMAZING you can really start to work up.
The drills you do don't have to feel like work or even reaaaally be drills. Make them goals and things to know you can do, make up FUN drills! Some drills just feel so swoopy and fun that you just can't help but want to do them. (muted pixie clipper>pdx illusion rpt etc)
Anyways, just really start enjoying waht you are doing and it will all get easier. Do you play with anyone? Get some new players going! I get lots of juice outta helping out newbies.
Footbag!!!!

hey buddy, sorry to hear you're down on your game. It's definitely important that you go back and hit those flipside basics, then throw them in drills.
Personally, I love hitting drills, but I've been playing hacky for 12 years now, and at this point, I'm focused on improving while I still can. To me, a good new drill is like a step forward in your game. I remember, for a long time, I couldn't hit fear > smear > atom rpt, but I got it at my last session pretty easily. That's another good thing about drills, there are some you will try and try for a while and not get, but then, after good work and thought on your form, you can get it, and feel like you've conquered yourself, in a way.
the more you drill, the better you will be, and the better you can play at tournaments in front of everyone. that will make you feel good.
maybe wait until the sun goes down to play?
hope you get the fire back soon.

BRICK!
