Sorry Austin Im really not certain, I was just basing my opinion on the fact that both bands are getting pretty old, so they may not tour again.

Fuck. Pitchfork might be a no go. My parents sold their house, closing is on July 16th (not that I know what that means), so I don't know if I'm gonna get suckered in to helping them do shit the weekend before (which is the weekend of Pitchfork).

I'm going to try to get out of helping my parents that weekend at all costs. All!

Also gonna go try to buy Superchunk tickets tonight. I'll have to fight the throngs of Cubs "fans"... and its before the game, so only half of them will be drunk (therefore, half of them will be harder to fight).

Oh the drama.

That would be the 2nd house-closing related concert-miss on modified this year. This past Friday I had been planning to go see CLUTCH in San Antonio but with the closing bullshit on my house I had to miss it. Basically you gotta sign a whole shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitload of paperwork and it takes forever.

So I'm going to Pitchfork anyway... but I spaced on getting tickets until just now. I was thinking "its an outdoor festival, how can it sell out?" Because I am an idiot.

All they have left are for Sunday (De La Soul, New Pornographers, bunch of other bands), but I wanted to see the New Pornographers the most so that works out for me just fine. Wish I was going all three days but oh well.

Is anybody else going to this? Get those tickets if you haven't already!

I definitely got my $12 worth. I think they didn't play a single song from Apollo (newest album). I requested Sonic Titan and they played it. Can't ask for much else. Down the Highway was absolutely killer live. It was only my 2nd Nebula show ever. Definitely great though.

I might be seeing Modest Mouse in December. And then after that, possibly no more concerts. Well I don't want to say no more ever, but probably not many.

Bunch of random punk shows, the best being like 5 Moneen shows when they were my favorites. I've also played a bunch of shows, Arkata being the best band I've played with, Alexis On Fire being the biggest band I've played with(3 times)

And Oct. 1 this year I saw Minus The Bear, who played soooooo tight. They have been my favorite band for years, and I finally got to see them. It was such a good show. I would watch them play every day if I could.

I saw them in late September. Best show i've ever been to. I've loved this band for years also. If you ever get a chance go and see them, you will be hooked.

This has been a really slow concert year for me, but I think I have seen some pretty good ones.

*A Wilhelm Scream in Madrid. It was a really small venue and it was really cool to see what the Spanish pink scene is like. It was my frist time seeing the band, and I thought they were pretty good. We also got to hang out with the band before and after. They don't speak much Spanish so they were happy to have my friends and I around.

*Fall Out Boy in Berlin and Maryland. I went to the show in Berlin show in March for my 21st birthday. It was definitely an awesome way to celebrate. This was a really cool show because it was in a club, as opposed to a stadium like they would play in in the U.S. I also saw them in June in Maryland and it was interesting to compare the two shows. The one in Maryland (with +44, Paul Wall, Cobra Starship, and someone else...) was really gimmikee while the one in Berlin was just them on a stage having a good time and playing. I liked that alot.

+44 was really awesome. They are two members of blink 182 plus two new guys, and still do the whole pop punk thing but in a different way from blink 182.

*Random ska show in Madrid. This was during Spain Jam 4. The band was pretty typical, but it was really fun to learn how Swiss and German people skank with Andreas Peier from Switzerland and Matthias from Germany. and of course Jon Schneider busted out the moves I showd him at a ska show at worlds in Helsinki

*Sum 41 in Washington D.C. This show was so amazing for me because I have loved Sum 41 for a long time but never got a chance to see them. This was their first tour in a long time. They played alot more of their poppy stuff that I had hoped; I am a big fan of their harder stuff. But the crowd was really energetic and so was the band. So it was definitely a good show.

*Gaelic Storm in Baltimore. This band if a Irish music band with some elements of rock, but not like Flogging Molly. The rock is pretty subtle. I had never heard of them before, but apparently this is the band that does the music for the scene in Titanic where everyone in the lower deck is having some kind of dance party. The band was really fun and funny. The bag pipes player could of used more energy, but I guess you can only jump aroung so much with bagpipes on your back

. I gained alot of respect for the lead singer when he rocked out on a pair spoons. He also told me where to buy some nice ones like he had, so hopefully I can get some soon and start practicing!

as for the rest of the year, i will be seeing Anti-Flag and Rufus Wainwright in December, maybe Angels and Airwaves in February, and hopefully Paul Oakenfold in a couple of weeks.

I caught Clutch again for the 2nd time this year and probably the 20th time ever this past Saturday 11/17. They co-headlined with Coheed and Cambria, an emo band who SUCK.

Anyway if you like rock n roll but ain't never heard of CLUTCH you gotta check em out:

Here is my review from the pro-rock boards. The show ended up being a pretty big disappointment due to technical difficulties.

Basically the sound equipment blew out and Clutch was forced to end their set early. I blame it on the hot chick who helped them set up the equipment.

Lady do all the emo shows you want to where you just gotta make sure the one guy can scream and cry, but no more Clutch shows for you. You can't handle 7 instruments!

Someone else there got a copy of the setlist and they were supposed to close with Electric Worry (radio tune) and Shogun Named Marcus (oldie but goodie).

Tragic because they sounded REALLY good and it seemed like Coheed kidz were actually getting into it.

Did I get my money's worth? Eh... close but no.

We ran into the manager for Emo's on the way back to my car. He said that C&C and Waterloo park offered Clutch "stupid" money to play there (normally they always play at Emo's which despite it's shitty name is an awesome venue). He said next time around he'll be sure to have them at Emo's again.
