Thanks again guys

Yay.
Well, I think those moves may have hurt my knees too much. Or maybe it was doing so many of them and being unused to the motions. In any case, I doubt they are going to be moves that I do frequently. I couldn't hit anything today, though I didn't try much.
Sibling shred #2: 'special numbers game'...
Yesterday I had another sibling shred session, which was fun, but my shins were sore from Thursdays swirly session. The highlight was making up a game. I explained this to Andrew today too. So it's like numbers, where one person has to hit one trick, and then the next has to hit two, etc. Except we put a couple of twists on it.
The first twist was that we each did every number (this was originally so that the game would last longer), so I do one move, then he would do one move, then I do two, then he does two, etc.
Twist #2: for every number, you just add a move onto what you've already done. So if I do ducking mirage for my first move, then when I'm on round 2, I have to hit ducking mirage and then something else. For round three, I would have to hit ducking mirage, then the move from round two, and then another.
Twist #3: you switch sides every round! This was really cool and got us to be more bothsided (and this began the revitalization of my flip pixie, which has been crap for years, and so I avoided doing both sides...)
It was fun.
We were going to try today, but I forgot after I showed Andrew.
Shred: Saturday, June 30, 2007"
Today, both my shins and knees hurt, and my hips were really tight. It was silly, but fun anyway. Manna is fun to jam with -- fresh meat. I may be convincing my brother, Konrad, to get into it again too. He seemed kinda excited, though his stamina is really rusty.
So, yeah, I regained my flip pixie today, inspired by Jorden's challenge in my challenges thread (since I wanna hit that, and it doesn't seem too tough), and I was all over the place! It felt GOOD! It may be the Climacools that did it for me, but I dunno. They were good form and felt CLEAN, which was a big issue for my flip pixie before. I didn't hit anything new, except one move, which isn't a biggy, but here's some stuff that I did:
Stuff I hit:
-pixie ducking clipper > blur [repeat] (first try)
-pixie diving clipper [both sides] (the new trick..meh. Nothing huge, but feels styley. I did one side, then handcatch and then the other side)
-LOTS of blur > smear > dimwalk [repeat] (like not in a row, necessarily, I just did the drill a lot of times)
-smear > pixie legover (maybe a magellan in there too?) > dimwalk > blurry legover [repeat] > dimwalk > blur [repeat] (maybe with more smears in there)
-ducking mirage > smear > ducking mirage > magellan > ducking mirage > dimwalk > pdx mirage [repeat] and probably the dimwalk > blur in same run
Yeah -- it was fun. They didn't hurt much, which is nice. It will be wicked to be able to do some decent shuffle again (I started as a toe shuffle player). I want my bothsided smogs back -- I love that trick. Plus my eggbeaters are kinda better, so mabye some bothsided pigbeaters too.
I tried Byrin's challenges a bit. I hit the first DLO one (pdx DLO > DLO > same DLO > same butterfly [repeat]), but then I was supposed to do it twice in a row, and I didn't. And my eggbeaters are too weak to do teh eggbeater version of that. Two flip eggbeaters in a row hurts my knees, so I may never really get that one, but flip pdx eggbeaters were pretty okay today, which felt good also.
All in all, a lame session, but also an okay, laid-back, and fun session

We had some footbag talk for a few minutes that was really fun. Manna stood there waiting for us to pass him the bag, but Andrew and I were discussing who the best is and why, who can do what, comparing, like, Dave's genuineness to Jorden's inventions... Dave's bothsidedness to Felix's power and style...etc. It was fun. I also gave a couple history lessons, being from a much older generation than most players today.
We also discussed the "Hackrifice stitching circle" where we will sit in a circle like old ladies, stitching hacky sacks, drinking bubble tea, and watching shred vids. I think they're both excited for my facile to arrive, since I said they could try some. Manna showed me a 12-panel that he made today and it looked wicked. I should make a 12-panel. I shouldn't jump right into 32s, even if I did do a 4. I should make a 12-panel.
K, that's enough.
Footbag is fun and happy.
Oh, and I'm so going to do a couple more mods on my Climas -- the silicone sealant mod, and the toe mesh-removal mod, and then I think I will be all set! They were still kinda wonky today.
Oh, and I'm very happy that bubble tea has become the official drink of FAT.
