That is indeed a stupid post.
Coming from a place with little racism I hadn't considered it as a factor in this incident but having read brian's post i feel very differently.

My post was considering under the standpoint of an ignorant yankee. I don't know anything concerning how the South is socially stratified. I have read and taken plenty of classes involving race and its effect on a community through social, economic and political means, but the best and most efficient way to understand how anything is managed is by learning about it first hand within your own community.
So, I can't really take any firm position in this topic. I do, however, agree that having a place named Plantation from what I read under Stephen's post is just downright offensive. Also, having read a few articles on how the Supreme Court shot down the efforts of two cities (Seattle and Louisville, Kentucky) trying to use race as a way to integrate and diversify the student bodies of several schools in the region had me upset a couple of days ago. It leaves a bad impression on the court case Brown vs. Board of Education when taken into consideration of the Supreme Court's conservative ruling on the matter.

unless what? they robbers are fucked regardless, people from outside know theres a robbery anyway, so they'd have little benefit from killing people in a back room
they might as well pop caps in broad daylight cos as soon as the cops get there they'll find bodies. it'd just be quicker to kill them in the main part of the store

You're missing the point completely.
Even if he knew for sure that the robbers were going to kill everybody, and he was completely justified in shooting them, this story is still NOT GOOD NEWS.
It's not about the actions, it's about the fact that people were killed.
Good news would have been the robbers deciding that they were doing the wrong thing and giving themselves up half way through the job. Good news is Alan Johnston being released. Good news is the fact that violent deaths have reduced by over 29% in the last 10,000 years (to accounting for less than 1%).
People getting shot in the head is never good news.
I agree its not the most appropriate title, I guess I shouldve considered the audience before posting it here. Ill be sure to post the next anti american story I see, Im sure to rave reviews LOL
