i chose me because i live in australia, and thus have not been blessed enough to meet any of these real footbaggers ... the closest i've gotten to footbag royalty is when one of vasek's mates bought a footbag from me in the street to take back to the czech republic for him ...

i chose spinning butterfly kick because i had the record for this (5) for one whole day ... just enough time for the great man kenny schultz to see it, say "who the hell is lotus?!", and proceed to go out into his backyard and break it (7) ...

Here's an unfinished (COMPLETELY unfinished) version of mine, but I don't think I'll have time to finish it this weekend. Poopie. I'll post it anyways.

I decided a monkey (it's actually me as a monkey) playing footbag would be fairly interesting... so here we are.

Here's my entry. I was initially going to draw myself but I came up with Freddy's concept and I knew I had to do it. The main inspiration was the pic of Iron Man in his blog. The pose was similar until I changed it into Freddy doing a clipper. I then had to flip the image over to make it fit the background I chose.

It started as a tight pencil sketch. Then I traced the final illustration with technical to get I nice clean line for the scanner. Once scanned I layed in the 2 base colors and gradually added lighter and darker values. Using Photoshop I tweaked the contrast and added the textures to the armor. Later I changed the size of the right hand and trimmed the lower body slightly. Next was to tweak the background image and add a footbag and text. The overall layout is pretty basic. My main focus was rendering the figure. Hope you guys like it.

Points of interest:
-Color scheme is a mix of his favorite color and his school colors.
-His mustache from Cinco de Mustache.
-The discs on his hips can be thrown like a Frisbee.
-No palm lasers like his comic counterpart. Instead, I placed one on the sole of his right foot (you're so one-sided Freddy, you should be ashamed!) and it fires when he does his no-look scorpion-like sole kick.
-Headlights? Thats my own personal touch

Mike, I was at the supermarket today and I saw someone that was in that excat pose and looked exactly the same on a magazine and it was Harry Kewell(Aussie Soccer player) and the magazine was called Alpha, it was an uncanny resemblance.

And Zeke that's a fantastic drawing but it looks somewhat chunky in the abdominal area

I'm a bit half and half... I always love a good well done portrait, but then again I like crisp detailed line art.. especially coloured...
