Sometimes when I'm trying to figure about what the hell I'm doing with my multimedia art I actually stop and think: "what would DC do?"
I give him a few more years before he hits Chuck Norris status.
Thanks for all the posts and PM's. Really enjoyed them all.
So this past few days has been pretty filled with eventure. Which is events, and adventure at the same time. I recounted all this stuff while I lay in the M.R.I machine at the imaging center yesterday, which was really loud and felt like it was out of Space Mountain (a ride at Disney worlds).
Anyway, since Friday I went to East Coasts with mike and it was a blast. It was really cool to see everyone, especially fetus, Alex, Scott, peter etc. I had a really good time and I probably only shredded like 5 hours the whole weekend, which is what I normally put in in a day. My back bothered me but went away for the time I played thanks to my official sponsor Tylenol extra strength. (david clavens does not support playing on Tylenol.)
The first round on Saturday went shitty. I dropped twice on really easy tricks, but I sealed the routine with montage, which is my first 7 in a routine, and to finish the whole thing off to boot. The routine also had fog, spike hammer, ripped warrior, pdx. Blender, and some other hard stuff because after the drops I didn’t give a shit anymore about dropping. Sick 1 went a lot better. In 5 tries I hit furious pdx. Blender, gauntlet, whirlwalk swirl, crouching tiger, and almost got furious flying toe whirl, which is two trick anyway. Wtf there was just an ant on my keyboard. Eek.
Anyway, mike did alright first round but I knew he could do better, which he did the next day. The party Saturday night was really cool and me and alex met these random girls on the street who didn’t have shoes on which was an eerie flashback to a night at college this year, which I don’t know if I ever recounted in my blog but you don’t want to know.
The next day started off with me having a really good sleep on the futon in peters basement, but I woke up to alex singing some song about a rodeo clown or something. Don’t ask. We ate and shit and then went to the site. Watched some net, ate pulled pork with Sunil and tuan. Then I filmed a little bit and Bevier was playing pretty well. Ken was busting as well. Always good to see ken playing/in general. Then the routines started.
Ken went first and I was kind of staying warm so I only saw a bit of his routine. I try not to watch my competition, cuz if they bust hard as shit that scares me and I really don’t use it as like, fuel. So I didn’t want to know how many drops he has, but thanks to mr. irish’s “ken somolinos with a 1 drop routine!!!!â€

The pre-competition bush-peeing was quite a vivid image @____@ I thought the praying and the way you described the light through the foliage was really nice.
I've done the MRI thing... I think I fell asleep.
It was pretty useless for me. I also did something similar where they scan your actual muscles... though both times they never found anything wrong... apparently.
When do you get your results? (My bad if you said already..) I think mine took a week or two? Props on your win, Dave. I agree too -- that Great Wall of China picture is a rad birthday present

It almost seems silly for you to not officially make BAP even if you don't touch a bag once at Worlds...james wrote:You've been BAP for a long time brother.
Seriously. I was out for 2 years. For the first few months I could barely walk, nevermind doing anything active... You're very, very lucky, Dave. I hope things clear up after your bracing period. It is really sad that this has happened right before Worlds for you -- I'm sad for you -- but there will certainly be a Worlds after this. If I can keep playing, and even get a little better than I used to be, then there is no doubt in my mind that if for some reason you don't make BAP in Florida, you will some day. You're an amazing player and an amazing person. I really look forward to seeing you again.CIC flurry wrote:I'm happy it's going to take "only" 2 months to heal
Good luck.
(PS: Everyone at ShrEdmonton wanted to play with the bag you made me -- particularly Adam Greenwood who who freak out over it any time he wanted to play!)
why it happened just before worlds?! That sucks, but don't forget you won't stop being good at footbag, BAP quality (yeah you're better than most of its members). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your quick recovery.

I dont like to get into BAP discussions, because I think its a pointless relic already, but I think it would be really bad form if Dave got into BAP this year without playing at worlds, considering that Ricky Moran didn't get in in 2004 when he was injured at Worlds, and was at the time the best non-BAP American by far.Erik Chan wrote:It almost seems silly for you to not officially make BAP even if you don't touch a bag once at Worlds...james wrote:You've been BAP for a long time brother.

All these vids Dave is releasing are amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Dave seriously over the past couple months Ive appreciated you talking to me about my game stitching me a couple bags.
Dave your an athlete. Athletes get injuries. You will heal, come back and be better than ever.
Everytime i watch you play. I feel like you make the bag do waht you want. You move and the bag follows. Its really amazing.
Ill probably talk to you later buddy. Try not to beat yourself up to bad.
