You're proud? I don't know about other people but that sounds really arrogant to me.

It was arrogant, and it is what I think. Up your's chump, if you've got a problem with it...too bad? :D

There are 3 kinds of vegetarians.

1. Political - This vegetarian doesn't eat meat because of the horrible practices of the meat industry. Makes sense....

2. Dietary - This vegetarian doesn't eat meat because it either disagrees with them, or the want to reduce their salt and fat intake. Makes sense....

3. EmPATHETIC - This vegetarian doesn't eat meat because they feel sorry for animals. Stupid hippies.

I love duck, especially peking duck
Well I'm French and have a certain pride when it comes to French cuisine, but I must agree that peking style duck is hands down the bet dish ever. It is unfortunately very hard to find restaurants that do it correctly (usually needs to be ordered 24h in advance). Sorry for the hijack.
Yes it is indeed hard to find good peking duck. in beijing there are some resteraunts that are dedicated to peking duck. the only other dishes are like a couple bowls of soup. its so good. and cheap. and authentic, proper peking duck

Precisely, I eat meat and I'm damned proud of it. I don't expect vegetarians to change their ways, and I don't expect them to push their ways onto me.

Animals are on the planet for a reason, plants are on the planet for a reason.

Has anyone tried alligator or ostrich? Ugh, so damn good. Grizzly bear too....I bet kangaroo would be good... tough though...
kangaroo is good and tastes alot like beef

well as long as he doesn't tuck into whales like his countrymen (or another endangered animal like a toucan) he's right :P

as long as we breed and slaughter animals in a humane and sustainable fashion then its cool.

My parents did NOT make me become vegetarian. I kept eating meat for quite a few monts, or maybe even a year, after they stopped. I made the decision on my own. Now, I'm quite sure that decision was heavily influenced by the fact that my parents did it, but still it was my own choice.

I tried to go veggie once, and realized I don't even like enough vegetables to go full on, and actually got pretty sick. I didn't have any suppliments though, but still, eating steamed broccoli and corn isn't enough :P Plus, like, I mean, like, steak man, steak. Hot damn on a beautiful day in the summer there is nothing better than a steak straight off the BBQ and a nice cold beer 8)
Or even just the smell of a BBQ grilling anything that was once alive, makes my mouth water just thinkin' 'bout it :D

My ex was a veggie-head. She would make me brush my teeth and shit before I kissed her. It was annoying. But I did it, because I can sure as hell say that if anyone were to eat tuna or egg salad or anything else I consider to be gnarb, I taint kissin'em :P .

I went vegetarian for health reasons.

The meat that you can get at grocery stores, restaurants, etc. comes from factory farms. They pump these animals full of antibiotics, hormones and other chemicals if you knew what they were, you probably wouldn't want to ingest them... things like recombinant bovine growth hormone. Guess what, that stuff can effect humans too.

Statistically vegetarians are 6 times less likely to get colon and other types of cancer. Also, vegetarian and vegan men produce more testosterone than their meat eating counterparts, generally because they are not ingesting synthetic bull testosterone that is pumped into steer to make them more fertile. So that basically bunks the myth that meat eating men are more manly than those who don't.

Also good, Environmental reasons:

What you eat is your life choice, I would just advise be careful about what you put in your body.

Statistics like that are completely misleading. In today's society vegetarians have to be careful about what they eat. Some people are also concerned about their health and are careful what they eat, and still eat meat. A relatively large amount of people don't pay much attention to what they eat and also eat meat.

So we have essentially 3 groups; vegetarians who do watch what they eat, omnivores who watch what they eat, and omnivores/carnivores that don't care what they eat. If you group the people who don't care what they eat with either the vegetarians or the omnivores who do care what they eat, it makes the non paired group appear much more healthy. It's nothing to do with meat being bad for you, it's because you're comparing people who try to eat healthily with people who don't.

The reality is that the people with the highest life expectancy in the world (the Japanese) eat a lot of meat, they have the highest sea food diet in the world, but also a very low rate of vegetarianism.

i probably could never go fully vegetarian. i didnt try it for health, empathy of animals, or the environment... i tried just to see if i could do it.

the closest thing i could ever get to being vegetarian is probably pescatarian (the only meat you eat is seafood). i weigh 120lbs and trying eating only vegetables would probably be dangerous for me. i need lots of protein and fat.

i know some vegans that only eat veggies and vitamins. and they look malnurished. they have knoble causes... but probably are risking a lot for their health.
