I believe that I'm converging on the person I see in myself, the person I'd like to be. It's much too slow though, none of us have enough time.

holly got me thinking... maybe gravitational force doesn't originate within an object in the sense that I was taught.
Imagine that the force is coming from a force in outer space and the nucleus is like a vacuum. The force of this outer space matter(which we have no knowledge of yet) is flowing like a river into the nucleus and then into another dimension...

I fucking HATE when this happens...somebody accuses you of doing something you didn't do, or you simply get in trouble for something you didn't do...and you have NO WAY to prove that you didn't do it...because you are over-powered by people who say the exact opposite of you, or do not want to believe what you KNOW is true...thats a bitch. Kind've like if you got the death sentence, but you didn't even do anything wrong.

And I think its funny when Christians try to say that God exists, I say no, they say "its in the bible" ... I mean come on, how can you be so fucking stupid to believe something out of the biggest selling science fiction novel.

Because they don't regard it as fiction?

Every time a Christian looks at me and says, "Dinosaurs didn't exist. That would contradict the Bible." I just want to reach for a fossil, and hold it out in my hand, and say, "Fossil." And if they keep talking, I throw it at them, just over their head.

~ Lewis Black

That right there, is funny stuff. It amazes me at just how fucking ignorant Christianity, and basically every other religion is. There are so many blunt facts that are common sense now days, that they just dismiss because of what a book says. Religion's stupid. I'm a firm believer in the theory that the universe collapses on itself, and expands, over and over, in the exact same way every time. Making us all relive our lives exactly the same way each time. Because it mathematically makes sense.

The universe expands infinitely. Everything in it will cease to exist.
Time only has meaning for finite things.
Both states (finite and infinite) justify each other.

and furthermore, bla bla bla

That (Like what I said above.) is only a theory. A plausible one yes, but still only a theory. I believe, however, that what goes up, must come down, even if it takes trillions upon trillions of years.

Setting aside the fact that you can't 'prove' anything, how can you not prove that gravity exists? Just because it can't be explained very well doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There are forces between entities of considerable mass. Successful space exploration in the last 50 years has been based off calculations taking gravity into consideration.
Holly is right, gravity is still considered a theory.

Not true. At the very least, we can say that all objects are attracted to one another through an unexplained force, that we called gravity. That is true, because we see it happen every day. The theories involving gravity are actually just theories to EXPLAIN gravity. But we know it exists, and we prove it trillions upon trillions of times every day.

gravity is a theory... because no one can prove it. sure, it makes since, but "gravity" is just a word to identify something we can't prove or understand.

In science, "theory" and "a theory" are different things. When people say "gravity is only a theory," they're getting confused with a hypothesis. "Theory" is a set of interconnected postulates that have not been proven false. So we could talk about "gravity theory," "evolutionary theory," or even "footbag theory" but all of those things actually exist.

The statement; "nothing can be proven," is only true if you apply the mathematical definition of proof to science, however it is a fallacy to do so. If we remove ourselves from philosophical debate, which has no evidence to support it (and is therefore meaningless), we can see that in science things can be proven all the time. For example the fact stars change position in the sky as they "approach" the sun (only visible during an eclipse) proves that matter distorts light. While it's possible to come up with counter theories to this (such as alpha radiation distorts light), those theories can all be tested and proven wrong. When we have one hypothesis that fits a range of different evidence, and all our attempts at falsification prove to be incorrect, we can, and should, assume that theory is proven correct (at least in part).

Gravity is a theory, but it's also a fact, and it will remain a fact no matter how much you believe that it might not be.

Meh, it was pretty good :D. A bit 'fake' and forced if you ask me but... Otherwise very nicely said mate.
