Woah, last thread on page 2. Just made it. This post is not to pass along any highlights, but rather to say that yes, I still play footbag. Sometimes.

I played on Sunday with Brian of UCSC. We were going to play at the park where the net players play, but instead we played at a park close to his house. It was really nice- the side of the basketball court was in the shade and next to a bench. Brian provided music and I provided lots of annoying suggestions.

After the session was pretty much over he played by himself for a song. Then I asked him to try his flip osis which was... needed improvement.

He had no expectation of being able to come close to hitting it, but of course after 4 tries he did. I think I'll always enjoy playing with people who are lower in level (than I am) more than people who are better than I am. Haha, that sounds horrible. It's for a not horrible reason though, I just like seeing people hit mirage or osis for the first time and be super excited about it. And I like telling people what to do.

As of Sunday it's gym, jog, or footbag every day. We'll see how long I keep that up... probably about another 3 days.

When I was in IL last week I was sitting in a circle with my oldest friend and his older brother and found myself in a conversation asking, "Do you want to hear the urban legend someone told me while I was drinking chocolate milk?"

Aww, don't be like that. If I could have I would have. It was a visit specifically to be with my parents and I allowed myself to see my two best home-town friends one evening each after 9pm. I didn't have time to come to Chicago, and my parents seriously resent the way I go to NYJ every year and spend so much time in Chicago during my Christmas break. They felt like I spend more time in Chicago every year than with them. That's part of the reason I visited them over the summer just now, so they would stop feeling like I abandon them every Christmas. If I have enough money to come back to IL next summer Iâ€™ll come to Chicago for a few days before going home back to Waukegan so I can hang out with you guys. It really sucked being so close and not seeing you.

Oh, and it's not as exciting as it sounds, Tom.

Chocolate milk: went something like this.
Some guy says to me as I'm drinking chocolate milk: "You know what I heard about chocolate milk?"
Me: "Hmm?"
Some guy: "I heard that chocolate milk is really made from bloody milk, and they make it chocolate because no one would drink something that color." Me: "Well, milk probably gets puss in it too. I'm more concerned with puss than blood. They have to have some sort of filters to clean any gunk out. And I seriously doubt that the FDA would miss something like huge vats of bloody milk sitting around waiting to be made into chocolate milk."

My friend's brother said that I ruined chocolate milk for him. I asked him what his favorite food was.

I'm playing footbag with Brian after work today.

Wed June 27th I played with Brian at the park near his house. Nothing good for me. We had a kicking contest afterwards and both got about 80, but I won.

Today Brian and I met Steve at the Capitola mall. Steve was in line from 2:15pm or so until the store opened again at 6pm to sell iPhones. Brian and I played outside the mall and Steve came out for a game of 2-square. I lost to Steve but won against Brian, who hadn't played before. Yes, I beat a newb.

I did 42 tiltless, which is really good for me.

Tonight I'm going to a beat-boxing comp. in Berkeley with Fletch. Tomorrow and Sunday I'll be at an outdoor music event campout party. They rent out a boy scout camp every year, it's huge and awesome. I really like that cell phones donâ€™t work there.

I have still been going to the gym every day that I don't play footbag and it feels good.

I was on the way to Brian's when he called to say that something came up. I went to Frederick St. Park to hang out with the silly net players for a while. I showed a high school kid how to do toe stalls, then toe>op toe. I did a few strings but didn't play much.

After that I watched some net. Angel and I went to the empty court so I could practice. We had a rally of 5 contacts. He had me try some spikes. Then Sage and I played against Angel and someone else. I did four good serves in a row which is great for me. Later Angel and I played two games against EJ and Dirk. Fun stuff. Today was fun enough that if I had extra money I think I'd buy a pair of shoes. But who knows how I'll feel next time I'm there on a Sunday.

I'm out of town July 8-15.

Played with UCSC Brian again yesterday. I found and brought a list of stuff to try, but the list is old enough that everything on it too hard.

I tried anyway. I also did some random other stuff:
23 tiltless
14 contacts of far legover>ss butterfly
13 osis
10 contacts of ss butterfly>ss clipper>osis
6 contacts of pixie (set)>op toe just to work pixie sets
strong fairy op pick up

I worked other areas and it feels a little more satisfying to play again.

Brian is getting SO much better. His strings have probably doubled in length in the last two weeks (because/) and he's a lot better with his flip side.

Sam, nope, not at all close to btb since I can't do it on the other side. My back has been doing really well for a very long time and I am glad for that every day.

Today I played with AJ in Capitola Village. We played in the spot we used to play when it was just the two of us freestyling in town. There's a new covered spot (good for rain play) but there are no lights that I'm aware of.

I expected AJ to be really rusty because it has been so long since we've played, but he kicked a lot by himself, but that was not the case. There were several things I was surprised with including his nice illusions and starting to try get pdx illusions and bubbas.

I didn't do anything great. My left knee started to hurt about half way through the session so I did low impact stuff. Tried ducking clippers for a while and almost got two in a row, so close. 10 osis, not amazing. plo>plo x4 which I was really happy with since I had been having trouble with my flip pixie and last session I couldnâ€™t do plo>plo.

Chrissy, if I could come visit you I would. I know what would make you feel better: play footbag either today or tomorrow.

That's an order.

I was getting ready for bed but wanted to kick for a few minutes and get a little exercise for the day. I had to be quiet, and my stomach was still a little full from a $20 sushi plate (:!:), miso soup, salad, and green tea ice cream. There was a TINY tiny bit on wasabi that touched a piece of the sushi and it -- I don't think wasabi burns like something spicy. It feels to me more like what inhaling pepper spray feels like. Like cylindrical pieces of physical pain hitting the back of your throat. Someone went on a pepper spray spree in high school, which made me feel especially bad for the 20-something people in the E2night club who died because some bouncers sprayed someone with pepper spray and all the sudden no one was able to breathe. Since there was very little ventilation (and something wrong with the fire exits? maybe I'm making that part up) people got trampled to death trying to get out. That's all from memory, so forgive me if it's off.

Anyway...

Infinity x12, Infinity x13 (3 times), Infinity x14 (2 times), and 16 infinities. It was a little frustrating to be able to get into the low teens so many times but not get to 20.
