Chrissy, you have one more day. :x

I went to the basement.

20 contacts clipper>ss mirage>ss butterfly

Ducking clipper
10 tries each side, repeat 2 times.
5 tries each side, repeat 3 times.
It did not go as well as I would have expected, or did expect, but it was good to do.

Dyno
5 tries each side, repeat 3 times

I won't tell you how many I actually hit for either of those.

Session at Steve's place. Abram, Alex, Peter, Steve, Steve's pizza, Alex's mom's strawberry cake.

It felt great to play today.

terrage bsos for the first time, I think
plo x4
smear: strong x6 (beating my record by 4 or 5 :-)), flip x2
fairy legover>fairy legover several times starting both sides, almost got three but didn't
was doing terribly at drifters. just couldn't hit them, so I did a strong pdx drifter and came close to flip
strong datw>dimwalk and both sides datw>plo, tried to repeat but couldn't.

I'm going to try to come back next Saturday.

oh my god. I just drank wine instead of eating, since I had pizza earlier. I should have just said "I had wine." Silly people, taking me literally. :P

Today I went to the gym and warmed up my legs really well and stretched a lot because my ham strings were still super tight from two days ago. I'm so glad I did that because they feel SO much better now. Afterwards I went to Brian's to show him how to stitch a 32. He's doing well and his lightly sprained ankle is healing up.

I had forgotten. It's hard to remember someone I haven't seen in such a long time, even though I hear you were in town and kicked at Steve's a few weeks ago. But that's fine, tomorrow night I'm going to Steve's to kick and I'm not going to tell you. :!:

I went to Steve's on Wed. and Thurs. nights. I slept at a house near Steve's and worked at that place on Friday so after work I headed back to Steve's. I worked in SC today (Sat.) and went back to Steve's afterwards for a session with Dan Ednie from Australia. Steve lives 45 minutes (minimum or 1.5 hours max, all depending on traffic) away from my house, so all that driving is getting stupidly expensive.

I've been kicking a fair amount this week. I knew Dan was good but the Carlmonteo crew and I were totally impressed when we saw him play in person. Smooth. It’s weird to talk with a footbag player who isn’t on the forum on a regular basis. We were talking about someone he hadn’t heard of and I explained that the person doesn’t post much. I didn’t even realize that it wouldn’t mean anything to him until after I said it. Weird Emily.

We played lots of 4-square and 2-square this evening. I was happy to hit (flip) datw>legover>datw>legover>datw>legover>datw>drop since my datw’s aren’t reliable on my strong side and are obviously worse on my flip side. Fluke, but fun.

Tara Johnson is a Freestyler from before my time but she sent me an e-mail saying that she would be in town and wanted to kick. Tomorrow I’m meeting her at the park in town if everything works out. Fun. ï

He's here until they fly on Friday morning. They're playing today and every day as far as I know.

Today I met Tara Johnson at the net park. It was neat getting to randomly freestyle with another woman, not at an event. She asked if there are still a lot of women kickers, and said that at Westerns there was a circle of 10 women. That's just one event in the country, not Worlds or a national event. I should have asked how far they all traveled for the event. I explained how it is now, which was sad to explain. I told her how excited (and surprised) I was to find out a woman was going to visit from a different town and kick with me, another woman. What are the odds of that?

Tara told me about how she used to compete, and she recognized Jeremy, Sage, and Jacob from Western Regional events. She used to play net too but I don't know if she competed in it. Jacob came over and kicked with us for a while and after a while of warming up he had some good strings. Later Sage kicked with us for a while and did a few freestyle tricks. Go net players. She'll be back in town a few weeks, fun. :-)
