So this is my 500th post!!!
Shredding at the Taste was pretty fun, but mostly just on that first day, 'cause I was actually shredding and hangin', not like the second day performing, for hours, in the sun's brutal heat...
Highlights from that first day are as follows:
-TATW sealed with a nice hand catch after not very many attempts. My second ever
-One run with PS whirl BSOS, blurry whirl BSOS, spinning pdx whirl BSOS, and blurriest ending with a hand catch
Everyone's shred seemed pretty on. Jeff's game was looking really controled. Lauren came but didn't shred 'cause she's out of practice and has also lost her awesome lavers. A run by Tom caused the only audible reaction from Lauren. I think it was while hitting some smooove link like bubba beater>toe barrage>dbl legover near the end of an already prop-worthy string. Reid, Tom, and I took a couple attempts at the drill. No one was looking all that spectacular at it. I definitely wasn't feeling it that day. Oh well.
I haven't shredded once since that last day at the taste. I've just been working too much. A bunch of consecutive doubles (in other words like 12 straight hours of work). Today I only worked in the evening but I was just feeling kind of tired and also felt unmotivated to shred. There are some other things that I'd like to accomplish before this summer is over, so I might just put footbag on the backburner until school starts. I'm sure I'll have more motivation to shred when one of my three roommates is Reid. Plus we'll live really close to the armory which will be nice when weather is bad.
A while back I mentioned that there was this dream move I was working towards this summer. Well, I'm still really far from even attempting it so I'll have to make that more of a long term goal. I also wanted to have nice consistent whirling swirls by the end of this summer which also never happened. Still, I re-learned whirls and now I am able to do them consistently and consecutively midtime (instead of downtime) and have also improved my symple swirls on both sides. At least some progress has been made. The 24 contact drill will also remain a long term goal that will require more endurance and better ps whirl control.
Well that's about it for now. This turned out to be quite the hefty post, but that's OK. Take care modified!
