i fucked up my right ankle yesterday. i was trying to show holly drifter in big baggy clothes, and my feet got tangled up. i ended up landing solid on my outside surface of my righht foot. but my ankle said that aint cool, and i fell to the ground.

i cant crank it, but i can walk on it. hopefully be better by the weekend.

i gotta get stithchng. im behind. ive got 7 bags ri now. i want to take 20 for worlds. so i gotta get busy.

pretty cool weekend!

brian took me to hatch show print on saturday for my workshop thing. here are some photos:

Image
huey, the hatch cat

Image
we got to make parking posters. here is the letterpress thats set up for that

Image
some of the archives

Image
a ton of their posters. note the adult swim posters in the top left. see which ones you like!!

Image
got to make nfb jerseys at hatch for worlds. this is brians.

this is a close up of that font. its called "circus". its one of the most famous fonts that hatch uses. i bet you didnt know fonts can be famous.

lol. the "N" on NFB is upside down. on both shirts. im such a fuck-up :P

ill post pictures of the posters i printed later this week... we had to leave them there over the weekend to dry. they are soooo sweet. youll see.

we went to steves last night. cooked burgers and played wii. we didnt get home till 2ish so brian and i slept in today... lol and woke up at 5pm!!! wow.

so we got off our asses and footbagged. its really hot in tennessee so our sessions are only like an hour long. but brian hit some cool stuff and i drilled. im getting pretty solid, and that makes me happy. i can do longish strings with my strong moves and can do 4 or 5 contact strings with my weaker tricks. im all up in it like it was cammel toe.

we rented "the weatherman" with nicolas cage. we watched part of it at nyj because dat said it was good... thanks dat! time to chillax before we have to go to work tomorrow.

AWESOME shirts!!
I want a personalized shirt!
Typography was a huge part of a graphic design course I took in university, and I was sooooo into fonts -- I have a textbook on fonts! We made a few of our own too, and stuff.
It sounds like your little adventure was really fun and productive. I still don't really know what Hatch is, but it looks really cool! I like the graffiti on the press. It makes it look so oldschool.

thanks for posting, erik!!

hatch is the only remaining letterpress company in the US and possibly in all of north america. they do circus/burlesque/concert posters and many other print jobs. me getting to go there for a workshop means im very lucky.

my twin broke his foot at his school of infantry. they gave him a 30 day medical leave, so hes back till we leave for worlds. im really happy i get to see him... because its going to be a long time after this until i see him again. he will be going to iraq right before the presidential election.

some footbag stuff:

i hit a symp mirage on video like... in january or something. but symposium was a concept that i wasnt ready for at that time, so it was really rakey and bad form. well brian told me to try it today and i got it after 5 or so tries!!!! and it looked good! and i hand caught it!

so ive been working on my clippers and cant get them consecutive yet. i hit my flip clipper for the first time yesterday... and hit my flip butterfly like a week ago. why is butterfly easier than clipper? anyway my crank sucks on my left foot but im working on it. ive been doing clipper> hand> rpt... does anyone have any other tips on getting them consecutive on the same side?

also, sometimes when i clipper the bag comes up and hits my butt. i must be doing something wrong but i dont know what. does anyone have any ideas?

at nyj justin dale spent a lot of time telling me about "slotting" so i could get my dlo... but i wasnt really ready for double dexes even though i thought i was. i hit it at nyj one time but havent hit it since. i still dont think im ready for dlo's yet... i hope justin dale isnt disappointed at me.

we are having andrew grant, scott behmer, and justin dale staying with brian and i the first night we are in orlando!!! i cant believe worlds is so soon! im excited and nervous and unsure and insane all at the same time. i cant even begin to imagine what its going to be like.

lol i have 3 bags made for worlds so far. and im supposed to give out like 5. fuck. i need to get biizzzay

sounds like you're using your clipper foot to set the bag more than you're using your support leg to set the bag.

today i had the best shred ive had in months...

i bought a glasses strap from walmart, and its the best. i think part of my reason for playing so bad at nyj was my contacts. (and being pretty stoned the whole time). ive noticed that my vision is often obsqued when i have contacts in, like with blurs or just not focusing fast for footbag. but with glasses, i can stay focused. they just sling off my face when i get sweaty and spin.

not anymore!

we played in the mostly sunny hrs from 115-230 today, at the skatepark.

i hit lots of sweet stuff,

fear>paste>pix same pu>refraction

i bsosed osis and refractionn and spinning osis and spinning refraction today, all in one run. i think bsos smear in that one too.. cant really remember.

i hit flaming homer, pixie same egg, and some other eggy stuff.

but i guess for my consistancy getting better, most of my uptime game is gone, and so are my double downs. ive stil got like two weeks to get alot better, right? awesome.

im going to a yoyo meet/party tonight. its like the stay before the jam for footbag stuff, only its yoyo.

im pretty excited. i get to meet lots of pros and shit, and one (jake bullock, dave c's old naybor) pre ordered a cw footbag for tn states, so thats a sale. and he better teach me some 5a, and i want him to footbag too. he said he used to, and had some 32s but i wanna see what hes got.

tomorrow is tn states, and i probably wont compete. i wanna bring some footbags, so i can sell them and hopefully buy some yoyo to flip. we'll see.

holly hit a super clean symp mirage the other day, but didnt post because she hit a not so clean one a while ago and thoght no one would care. i do, so highfive! youre the best holly!

we got our magic express shit from disney today. its about to go down, so im starting to get impatient, but not at the same time.

i tried to give some helpful tips to a starting stitcher the otherday, and it was cool. i like helping, but i guess sometimes im scatterbrained and just need to show people instead of trying to explain.

i wish i could keep some of my footbags. i always sell them, because i have one that isnt all the way dead, and i feel bad for keeping them. (and i like more money, because eating is nice every once in a while)

i guess it would be different if i didnt get to keep them in my pockets and dont play them. but i do! i have a new footbag everyday because of it!

i guess i should stich. hopefully some kid will buy the cw im making.

i guess thats it. thanks for listening.

hey tom!

tn yo yo states is today and last night brian and i went to hang out with some of the out-of-towners who were staying the night here in town. yoyo guys seem to be much less friendly than footbag guys. at least the group we were hanging out with. there were like 3 cool guys out of the group.

brians getting me a yoyo! hopefully thatll be fun.

holy shit i footbagged at that yoyo party thing and im gettin pretty good. i can tell ive improved a lot. bsosed legover, mirage, and ss mirage in a string with butterfly in the middle... maybe a 10 contact string. yay for practice.

alcohol safety class today from 8am to 5pm. boooooo!!!

this weekend went by so fast.

it started friday, and we slept in. >footbag>home to shower.

then to the yoyo comps house party (not a party, just hang out)

it was full of 15 year old yoyo nerds. they were pretty immature, and really annoying. "ballsweat" was their theme for the entire trip.

saturday was pretty crazy. woke up to take holly to class @630am.

fast forward to arrival at rockettown, the place where yoyo comp was to be held (arrive @ 815 am)

finish a footbag, go inside.

i ended up having lots of fun, and meeting some cool peeps.

i competed in sport ladder, the newb event. i had to perform listed tricks on a compulsory list, until i failed twice. (you start easy, work harder.)

i scored a 12 out of 45 i think. pretty lame, but i got 2nd place. i got some sweet schwag, 3 yoyos, and some stickers. two shirts, a poster (that i left behind.. good thing i bought one) and some dvds/vhs of outdated tricks.

i was gonna trade my euro 888 for some other nice ones, but i didnt. glad i didnt, because after thinking about it, it wasnt worth it. euro=180$, the ones i wanted were pretty dinged, so im glad i kept it.

played some footbag there too, and yoyoers seem pretty impressed (theyre usually fat, or too lazy to footbag, so most dont even try)

but there were some aged footbaggers, like aron from the tattoo shop i usually yo at, and kyle, who had a mr. at one time.

it was a nice weekend, but still too short. i guess im just too busy.

rented RE4 again. i need to buy it, but i probably wont. south park and scrubs were also rented. fun times.

later

just finished the grey and white one. its a little lower gather (you cant see it, but you can feel it) than the others.

busy ass weekend. went up to clarksville last night and ended up having to babysit 3 kids. i hate kids. thank god its over now.

im beginning to feel used. we are letting our airforce/footbag buddy joshy stay with us at worlds. a month ago he told me he was going down to tampa one night to visit his girlfriend while we are there. well, now it turns out shes his fiance, and shes staying with us. he didnt ask me, but he already told her she could and she was sitting by him when i called. i probably wouldnt mind if he would have asked first... or if he were paying... god damn im too nice.

brians yoyo buddy, mark, gave me a projam yoyo. its yellow and i named it bananer. (note the squidbilly quote in my signature) i havent learned any tricks yet... but im working on binding for now. i dont want to compete in yoyo... im just trying it for fun and for a new hobby.

theres so much shit i have to do before worlds. only like... 19 or 20 days left!

im really glad your happy, henzilla. cant wait to hangout with you again!

welp... we have been scammed. brian posted his honda CRX on craigslist.org and he got a couple emails from interested people. well one guy said he would buy it... and he sent a check. we got the check yesterday and it looked iffy. no watermark... the logo wasnt the right font... it came from london and the guys aid he was from baltimore. so we took it to the bank that was printed on the check (suntrust) and our suspicisons were correct. counterfeit all the way. well another guy contacted brian about trading his crx for this faux dukes of hazzard car. looks like thats what brian wants... cause its an even trade and the hazzard car actually runs. it even has a dixie horn and a rebel flag painted on the top! lordie we are redneck.

here is the original general lee:

heres the one brians trading his crx for:

and guy named adam is trading me a hitman for a footbag

parents are out of town till friday. sweet
I have a black ds lite too, and I would HIGHLY recommend you buy a micro sd R4 card. You can store up to 1GB of games on it that you download from your computer and place onto the cartridge via USB that is included. 40 bucks, as many games as you want. Enjoy!

I always pick on Peng that her poops come out in perfect spherical pellets that land in a perfect pyramidal pile because she's asian. She really hates when I make that joke because it is like, toootally racist and like.. really inappropriate in basically every situation ever.

Haha, I just watched the video, I am not sure what I was expecting opening 'split bottom', but you looked adorable with that 'gonna nail it' look on your face.

Oh you kids, I am scared you and Brian will like yoyo too much and forget about us hacky kickers.

forget foobag?

neva. its our part time job, and we're the boss. and its also our passion, more than yoyo. yoyo is just less physical, so its easier to do it where ever.

i could see that joke never fitting in! its pretty funny.

ill probably make a new yoyo/ footbag video saturday, while holly has class. ill make it where the suns not behind me, so you can see. and ill throw in some neat stuff, like sui's, and whips. (i need to learn new yoyo stuff, i havnet really since i went to the last yo meet, not the comp)

my car will be here saturday, but the titles arent switching yet. mines not cleared in my name, and i have to pay taxes on it. damn govt. itll be like 250$. atleast i just made some cash.

well. its time to start getting ready for work.

hopefully i can finish the cw im working on today.

have fun,
