Well Eugene is once again a laver town...

With nate so pumped about his lavers, and my new balances ripping so quicking to the point of instability I looked in my closet and found to my suprise a very new pair of broken in lavers! I must have had them more than a year ago when I switched to ct 300s. I forgot about them because I ruled them out as even a possibility... that or something else

So I had a session with them and they felt great! For the time being I will stick with lavers, my style feels different in them and I really like it.

Lavers baby!... I know copy cattin sell out beotch.

So I have been pumpin the weights like mad, eating a very healthy diet, and have been taking my vitamins and shredding about 5-6 times a week. I feel absolutely great, I can't even believe how getting into awesome shape makes you feel. After I got a programming desk job I started to fall out of shape a bit, but now I am on track and rockin hard.

Shred has been completely amazing. Eugene has been awesome, and Nate and I have been shreddin campus like mad, and busting training sessions in-between.

Seattle is going to be the absolute bomb. I have had so much fun each time, and I'm sure this year will have even more in store. I wanna thank Sam, Alex, Matt, Justin, and anyone else who is putting effort into the event this year. I can't wait!!

Yeah! Footbag!!!!!!

Another awesome day today, we had been shredding a bunch of days in a row, but today was too nice to pass up.

I hit a 54 contact guiltless run to end the day. I think that is my guiltless record, yay!

Weights are going well, and my body fat levels are very low... super cool for the good ol footysack!

Well, back to footbag...

Been playing seriously for the last 3 weeks. For the last 9 months or so I have been pretty scarce in my shredding. With nate moving to corvalis and aaron being in the marines I have been pretty dormant.

With Aaron back I am getting really excited about footbag again and really want to start improving again. Now that I've heard stories of how p-town is blowing up and have seen how much improved aaron is, all I have is motivation again. Been doing some solo sessions and getting back in footbag shape and things seem to be coming together again. Footbag seems like riding a bike and it doesn't take much to get back into it.

Well I'm stoked, footbag is fun and is even more fun with people to shred with. Should be a fun journey.

I'm bummed I couldn't make it to the open, my car's transmission crapped out and my new car didn't show up in time for the open... I'm still waiting on it to arrive. I'm stoked aaron got 1st in sick trick, just sorry that I missed it.

Well, hope to see you all soon, good luck at worlds and see many of you at sjff.

Had another solo session today, drilling lots of stuff. I'm trying to take the opportunity to school the stuff that was so so in my game before. It was a lot easier to neglect that stuff in favor of long runs, but I might as well firm them up on the trek back up. I never really solo sessioned for several years shredding with nate because we really loved to just put on a show on campus. That doesn't leave too much opportunity to try a move 50 times and drop 45. So basically when I got a new move it was because it would just naturally come with a few attempts. I think soloing a bit will be good for me, aaron is leaving to alaska for two weeks, so I am going to try to kick almost every day and just work and practice single moves. Runs will always be there when I need them, but I've got a nice park next to my house where I don't have to worry about who's watching me. I mean who cares if some old lady thinks I suck because I am drilling new concepts... little different on campus when you are shredding with tons of young passers by.

I watched some video of Kevin Crowley that I hadnt seen before. That guys is getting freaking awesome! I really like his style. Hope the missoula crew goes to sjff, its always fun to kick with those guys.

I can't find any recent footage of the hackrifice guys. Wonder what happened to Vandell... Looks like Andrew and Erik are still busting from some posts i've read though so thats cool. I still haven't kicked with those guys, hopefully I can soon now that I have some more travelling money. I remember studying hackrifice videos over and over trying to learn moves when I was starting out. There was this cool movie called muffin man to the "Do you know the muffin man" song that I watched like 100 times. It was filled with shuffle and a sing along move list! That was awesome, I wish I still had that video.

Well I better go I am rambling on and on again in my blog, but then again I guess that what its for.

Worked rev whirls, swirls and various double butterflies for a while. Drilled torques for a long time too. I think after work I will do more of the same and maybe go for my butterfly swirl record. Won't be hard to break since my record is two

Might try schooling more barrages since they tend to be a bit thin when I throw them, so I usually never do.

I think I'll finish off with some stepping ducking, maybe try to go for weird stuff like alpine schmoe or something.

I finally got to meet Kevin Crowley recently -- he is very awesome.
Derek, I haven't seen for about two months? He was really into it again for about a month, and then he was just busy every time I called him. Andrew and I, and our new guy Manna, have been playing biweekly. That Muffinman video is on hackrifice.com still, and someone actually asked me yesterday for it!

We haven't had videos for a while because I have about 20 miniDV tapes (and a 200gig harddrive) FULL of footbag that I have yet to do anything with, because my computer has been toast for half a year. So I haven't bothered to film any more, since that would just back me up even more. I am hopefully buying a really nice camcorder soon, though. I tried to order a week ago, but my credit card didn't go through, and that seemed sketchy, so I'm going to wait, probably a couple of months, so that I'm not really stretching my resources.

This is really long.
There are a few recent clips on Hackrifice -- just on the main page, like, Move of the Week videos. I'm about to go film a couple of moves for Janis, too, that I will post in my blog.

Nice to hear from you again James.
I'm excited for potential video!!

Thats too bad about Derek, maybe he will get into it again. I went on hackrifice and downloaded the singalong movie again! That was awesome, I am saving that this time. Was cool to see more footage of you and andrew on the shredmonton video too. Hopefully you get that camera and your computer fixed soon, it would be cool to see a large hackrifice video like voyage of the dawn shredder.

Well I soloed for like an hour and a half today. I didn't get 3 infinity swirls but I got 2 starting both sides a few times, I'll get 3 eventually. I worked lots of barrages from clipper to try and tighten up the dexes. They seemed to be really easy to keep clean from clipper. I used to have that move a long time ago and then I got lazy throwing them in runs until they were nice and thin. Hit probably 30 on each side, probably 90% were good and clean. Did lots of torques and toe whirls and pixie whirls bs.

Then I spent about a half hour on various double butterflies again, mostly focusing on my really horrible weak side. They were 10 times better today, I hit so many on flip side. And I hit two new fives!

Flip pixie paradon and flip BLURRIEST! Yeah, yeah should have hit them long ago on weak side but what ya gonna do? I was super stoked

That was pretty much it, after all of that I tried stepping ducking but could only manage ripped clipper both sides before being tired. I decided to end with runs but couldn't muster much over 20 contacts which was wack, I might start with runs next time. I kept telling myself that I wouldn't stop until I hit 35 but it was apparent I wasn't going to hit 25 after all the drilling. So I ended to keep my legs fresh for tomorrow.

Thats about it!

*edit* Oh yeah after footbag I was watching some fight thing on the VS channel and the commentator was saying something about a Barrage of punches, and my girlfriend was drawing or something and looked up and said "Barrage? are they playing footbag on tv?" I laughed so hard because in 4 years of being my girlfriend I didn't think she knew one footbag move name, let alone one that I rarely throw

tobius both sides you say same name... hrm I'll give it a try, seems hard for bs since my toe spinning is totally one sided since I barely throw it. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

props on the flip triple dexes. It' great that you're getting more immersed into footbag. You're noe of the people that I always hope is at a tourney I'm attending. You're fun to kick with.

Thanks for the compliment and of course we'll see eachother in Seattle :)

Well sort of a lame session yesterday. Had to play with an unbroken in abshire because my cat hid my regular bag from me. He usually finds it and drops it in his food dish but it was nowhere to be found.

So I went out and tried a few challenges, no dice, even the ones that I should be able to hit without much problem. I mean spinning butter>gyro butter>rpt didn't even happen. I kept getting to the last move and dropping starting both sides. So I did some whirls and double downs for a while. Tried toebius, that was hillarious, maybe next time. I think I have even hit toebius before but yikes.

I'm just going to blame it on the bag, yeah it was the unbroken in bags fault!

Then I just tried runs and hit a few 30s and a bunch of 20s and ended the session. They were mostly filled with bops and easy 3s and 4s. At least I added another session under my belt and am getting my legs used to hopping around again.

Ok much better session, found my good abshire bag too.

Had an overall good time, hit a few long runs with some better stuff in there. My flip paradon was on, I have been trying to hit bap drill the last few days without too much luck but I will get it. I should really have hit that long ago, but I could never really do double downs on my flip side and at one point I became too scared to throw them because that move is probably the largest cause of badly rolled ankles.

Other highlights were flipside smoke and an accidental plo>smog>plo>pixie ss dlo. I was trying aarons challenge and did that move... doh. Tried flipside smog a bunch but I kept missing or it would roll off my toe.

I tried quite a few challenges from my challenge thread, only hit a few. I did hit spinning butter>gryo butter>repeat and I hit ducking butter>spinning butter>rpt>diving butter>gyro drop. I hit it using clippers pretty easily. Oh yeah I also hit dyno>dyno starting bs. That move is pretty easy. I still don't have a weak side blender to speak of, every time I go for it my leg just flings up and down and doesnt dex the bag... no clue why, they are easy to hit on the other side and I can do the motion without the bag just fine. Aaron: I guess I am a dyno dude, not a blender boy...

Well I guess thats it, I will probably take today off because I have a friend in town, but will be back at it on friday.
