socks session (2nd vid posted)

Post by janis »

finally a new solo video:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/11816
40 megs, 5:32

Is the move at 2:12 an invention? I haven't seen it before.

note: I know that some of my moves aren't that clean, I don't really care, but advice on cleaning stuff up might be good. Also if anyone has tips for enterrage>enterrage I'd love to know.

------------------------------------------------------------------

some moves from 16th July:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/11821

I'd really like to know what's happening with tatw, I just can't quite seem to hit it. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Ha! That last run was siiiick, Janis!!
I loved the enterrage > enterrage attempts -- that looks soooo sick. Have you hit it? I also liked the double pickups. Umm, and those double dexes are ridiculous -- it makes me really wish I could do double dexes! Part of your guiltless toe game also reminded me of Lynton -- particularly the DLOs and barrages.

And thanks for the toe flurry ;)
Awesome stuff.
(Oh yeah, and the pinch set enterrage too!! (And the other pinch combo... pinch ducking pinch > pinch set terrage, or something?))
Do we get to see your reverse whirls next? :D

Hey good to see recent vid of you Janis! Your control has improved alot since i saw you play last.
I think the vast majority of the enterrages and toe flurries were 'the' though, including the pincher set one.
Good toe game! I wish i had both pixie sets as good as that.

I haven't hit it yet, hence why I was asking for tips.

I agree that some of the enterrages are "the" but I think the pincher one, after looking at it frame by frame, is thin but not "the". Advice for cleaning them up would be nice. After all, that's why I included the enterrages in the video in the first place.

Wow!
I was particularly floored by that flurry drill attempt!! WHOA!
I really liked the double dexes again, and the last move was obviously awesome. I think the move was frankenstein? The fairy was really ankley, though.

Yeah, cool. I didn't like any of the flurries except for the one flipside (?) one, the second dex usually just isn't there. I think you either need to start dexing sooner, or set lower, because the bag falls through almost every time. (especially in the one for Chan, I didn't like the enterrage in that one either).

However! I DID like many of the other enterrages. I'd agree that the pinch set one was thin but not the...I know what thin barefootness is all about. :P

The 2 linked double dex drills were fantastic.

As far as what you can do to hit tatw...it looks pretty good as is. It's just speed. There is ONE thing you could maybe do to widen your dex window a bit. In the same way you pont your toe outwards for things like legover and doubleswitch, you can point your toe inwards for pickup, and double pickup. I think of in-tatw like a terraging ss pickup, so the last dex is usually JUST there thanks to having my toe pointed inwards. (you can also think of it as if you are leading with the heel when dexing)

Something to think about?

Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjdrQD2F-U4 to see what I mean. You can see it during the final dex.

Next up, pixie dbl pickup back to back? :)

thanks for that post Kevin! that was exactly the sort of post I was looking for :D

After the first vid was put out I have been working on cleaning up my enterrages and flurries. Because I had never seen any video footage of them up until then I didn't even know that my right toe set flurry was usually thin or "the". I'll try to act upon your advice and clean that shiz up :D

Also that advice about pointing the toes sounds great, I'll try that next session.

yeah, it was fairy ripstein (or at least a shoddy attempt at it :P ). Just curious what you mean by "The fairy was really ankley, though." ?

hey janis! you've got some skills! I like your style. I agree that there were a few the's, but I definitely saw one nice, tight toe flurry in the second video. Thanks for making these. I liked all your double ATWs and double switch / pickup.
