Have you ever seen a pasty white boy listening to reggae eating hash brownies and practicing capoeira ?

Have you ever seen an african american fellow smoking Marlboro's and toe tapping to George straight?

Have you ever seen an asian person in a movie who dosn't know kung-fu/use chopsticks/ eat asian food.

That's right, it's racist, that's the world for ya bud....

hehehehehe...white boys listening to reggae.... That made me laugh....

i.e. Think about the old days when native americans would sing their songs, engulf themselves in their culture, and eat magic mushrooms.

how does that not relate ethnicity, drugs, and music?

and that applies to basically every culture on the planet, granted a more worldwide culture is emerging, but take into consideration before that happened

the world isnt racist. individuals are racist. every individual has a choice of being racist. and every individual has the choice to do the right thing. doing the right thing is almost always harder than doing whats wrong.

i voted no. this thread offends me.

Drugs, yes. Ethnicity, probably not. Environment of upbringing which may, I hate to say it, reflect ethnicity, yes.

P.S.<----white boy who listens to reggae. (not excessively, mind you)

You're missing the other two requirements. :P

It dosn't offend me in the least, because it's true. Ethnicity drugs and music go hand in hand. Give me any culture and odds are their music was/is at one point influenced by drug use. You can't be offended by everything you see or hear. I'm what I like to perceive as moderately racist of pretty much every ethnicity other than my own, because that's the truth, nobody is completely secure with another person's culture. That's the cold truth, there isn't a person here who isn't entirely clean slated. It's my right to have my own opinions, and if I choose not to be comfortable around a certain group of people that's my business. To take it to heart, your post is 'offensive', unless you meant to come off very condescending as if you're free of guilt and charge....so much better than everyone else. Hopefully this isn't what you had intended on coming off as. No-one's perfect, it's just to the extent of how much you exhibit your tolerance.

That's something a lot of people get mixed up: Tolerance and racism. I can tolerate peoples ways and their diversity. I'm not going to tell them to stop just because I don't like it. They can do what the fuck they want and I won't intervene, and I expect the same. I think that you should be able to hate and like whatever you want, so long as you keep it to yourself and not rape it down some-one's throat.

Shit... now look what I've done...this topic is going to change into racism now..

i dont think im better than everyone else, but i certainly think i have better morals than you, robert. there is no such thing as "moderate racism"... either youre racist, or youre not. you just put the word "moderate" there to make your racism justified. thats like saying youre a moderate asshole... either youre an asshole or youre not.

people of different ethicities break the boundaries of music genres all the time. i know a lot of african americans who listen to country... i know a lot of white people that listen to reggae... i know hispanic people who listen to classical.

music isnt about ethnicity... and if you dont understand that, then you dont understand music.

meh, This is a one hate post pony... I stated my point, as much as I would love to start a big ol' fight with some-body who I hardly know; god knows I love to pick a good fight...I just don't see the point in starting jazz over something so ignorantly trivial. So... I'm going to go nurse my broken ego back up so I have the guts to make another stupid post trying to prove a broken point in another week or so....

Poor Andrew....he just wants to start a big thread......I won't fuck it up for you next time mate :D Sorry guys

i'm not going to say that they necessarily go hand in hand, however music genre's do tend to mostly be predominate in one or two ethnicities as far as the performers go i.e, hip hop is predominately black, rock music is predominately white, country is predominately white, so on so forth... and drug use tends to be go hand in hand with almost every genre of music that is popular today, especially in the writing of it... there it is, i said my peice...
