OK, outside the whole ethnicity thing, I ask, does age have anything to do with the drugs that are being taken??
I ask this because for the past week and a half a 14 yr old kid from my Wing Chun class has been trying to get me to find him LSD

HE'S FUCKIN 14 FOR FART SAKES!!!!
Like, what the fuck. His brain will be nothing but mush by the time he's an adult. And he doesn't only want like one hit, the kid's looking for $150 worth.
I remember this one time I walked into a West 49 and there was a group of like 10yr olds who were freaking out, and we asked them what was up, and they said they ate magic mushrooms.
Now I'm all for shroomin' errrrry once and awhile, but JESUM CROSUM THEY WERE 10

My biggest problem when I was 10 was getting my regular Nintendo to work...like how many times do you have to blow into the machine and/or jank off the reset button anyway

OR something like that... 150$ of lsd is probably only a hit or two... I hear that shit can be pretty expensive....I hear....I hear wrong an awful lot so...check the prices next time you go downtown...

I hate it when people try to make us all the same in the name of anti-racism. We're different, it's OK, in fact it's wrong to try to make everyone the same. Music is clearly related to ethnicity. Obviously white boys listen to rap and black's listen to country music, I'd bet there's more of a trend the other way though.

political correctness pisses me off. so do lawsuits. I saw an article in the newspaper the other day for the "Black Music Awards" and got angry. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less if they have their own awards (despite the fact that they rule the normal ones anyway) it just makes me angry that if we had a "White Music Awards" there would be uproar. THAT'S racism.

Don't try to make it black and white (pun not intended, but fortuitious), it's not. Whoever it was that said he's slightly racist against all races that weren't his was on to a good point. I don't understand asian culture for instance, and because of that some of the things they do seem a bit funny to me. It's human nature to be afraid and unsure of things we don't understand, so until you understand all cultures, don't come preaching your "you're racist or you're not" dogma to me.

I'm not trying to get any feathers riled here, but I'm sick of political correctness and over protection of previously downtrodden segments of society, it's not helping. (Yes, I know some of them are still downtrodden, but making sure we don't say 'nigga' in case it offends them is not really going to help them get out of poverty, is it)

Mostly I think everyone should get over their insecurities and not chuck a hissy fit cause someone offended you. The idea that anyone would flame the creator of this topic saddens me, he asked a question, and a rather viable one. It struck a raw nerve in you because you've got some sense of self importance/skewed few of morality so you got angry at him? Right...

This is a prime example where commenting on things you don't understand makes you look silly.

Saying "nigga" isn't going to help get people out of poverty either, so your statement is completely meaningless.

so what exactly does make it ok that if there were a "White Music Awards" there would be an uproar? the double standard there irritates the hell out of me... i could go further, but i want to stay within the confines of this conversation.

What? Haha? You seem to come off as a real asshole man.... I'm sure you don't mean to, but I read yours posts and it just seems like you intentionally like being an ass to people....

White music awards would indeed cause an uproar...because there are always people who will get pissed because us caucasian folk aren't ethnically diverse and what-not. Besides, any person who isn't white can take offense to a 'white music award' because they're a 'minority' and we shouldn't pressure them to change their ways...But you'll never see a white person complaining about black,latino, or canadian music awards.

Obviously the vast majority of music awards in Western countries are already won by white people. There doesn't need to be a "white music awards" because it would simply be the same people winning the same awards. White people, especially in Australia, which is where these music awards were taking place, are much more affluent and have many more opportunities. White people in Australia have the 4th highest life expectancy in the world. Black people in Australia have the lowest life expectancy in the developed world of any minority, and also one of the lowest life expectancies in the world (comparable with places like Sudan and Ethiopia).

The Black Music awards are an attempt to give relatively unknown black musicians some better publicity and recognition, and to give them the, and their people the opportunity to see successful people of their ethnic background, so that they know that despite their racial handicap (in terms of their place in society), they are still capable of achieving success.

White Music Awards would clearly not achieve any of those goals at all. People would label White Music Awards as racist because it's demonstrating a lack of understanding as to why the Black Music Awards are important and it's thinking only in terms of skin colour, rather than socio-economic position.
