What are the worst colors ever and why?
Please explain why, and dont just post the color of the facile.

the two worst colors ever have to be black noir, and sunny sienna, both are just way to thick, and dont seem to realy have any positive qualitys, some people do claim that sunny siena will break in after a long time, but it doesnt matter because it will take so long to break in that by the time sunny sienna is choice, the rest of the bag will have holes and be on its last days of playability.

Are you serious? I have Sunny Sienna on me, and it's pretty damn supple. I can agree on the break-in rate for Black Noir, but Sunny Sienna is out of the question in terms of comparison. It's not even thick! It's like Navajo Turquoise! The fibers may be bunched together too strong and such, but it's not disgustingly awful. Heck, it's good. It's a step-up from Marmalade.

Worst colors that people SHOULD NOT BUY:

-Soft Ivy: Freakin' THICK! Thicker than Spanish Gold! Disgusting! It also pills like crazy on the bad end. It's like an Ultrasuede Soft reject that's been dubbed Ultrasuede Light for some stupid reason.
-Paisely anything: Way too supple and way too thin. The worst print color to use. I have 6 Print colors on me, and have used Paisely on one bag for myself in the past. The bag was murdered when played on concrete. Definitely weaker than Baby Cougar (white), Snake Skin, and Small Pony.
-Aqua: Way too thin and supple. Bags will fall apart with this fabric.
-Spanish Gold: Okay, I admit, I like Spanish Gold. But for the conventional stitcher, this color will be too thick for people to enjoy. It's very durable, however, and can break-in substantially well. It's just your call.
-Saffron: I've had a lot of good results with Saffron, but my best feedback for this color is that it's way too thin. It can get holes pretty quickly. Again, your call.
-Storm: This is an awful grey. Thank god for Stone Grey! This color had a pretty good backing, but it was too thin and too pilly after a certain amount of wear. I highly suggest not using it if you come into a fair supply of it.

Maybe, maybe not:
-Tulip: I'll have to agree that this material is pretty thin and supple. It also pills at a higher than moderate rate. I use the facile version for some bags, and I have had some pretty moderate views about it. It really depends on your filler and the surface you play on, and whether you roughhouse your bags badly. I'm pretty iffy about.

I also have the ultrasuede soft version of Tulip, so maybe I can pull a few strings and try to compress the fabric, wear it and get it laundered significantly enough to make it usable like facile. I'm still planning on how to go about it.
-Willow: See Tulip. However, it's a bit stronger. I just think Willow looks really ugly without a good contrasting support color. It only looks good as a supplementary color on bags.
-Green Mist: You might as well buy Green Grape, since Green Mist is probably comparable to Saffron (in terms of thickness). I think it's way too thin. People have positive views about it, so I don't know. It's like a thinner Willow in terms of feel and consistency.

I agree with Spanish gold, but I didn't find it to thick. I found that it pilled really quick.

Storm Grey is a good grey. I have it on two bags and there's no hole's or sign's of pilling on it. Plus I thought it was a good thickness.

Black noir doesn't take that long to break in. I made a bag with it and it took the same amount of time to break in as white did. Which was like maybe 2 weeks!

Either than spanish gold, I haven't really had any problems with the color's that I've gotten.

I'm a fan of Black Noir as well. It's not bad facile. I like to use it on pents for the most part.

yea black noir is pretty ok. i would say its a worst.

latley though i have really been hating tulip. but if you have good skills stitching then your probably going to be fine.

i just really despise supple colors.

edit: yes, i agree with erik, very cool thread. this should help buyers a lot. yea there was already a 'good fabrics' thread but this is better because it eliminates the ones you shouldnt buy. imo, more valuable information than knowing what you should buy.

as for saffron, it's an ok color, i just reeeaaaalllllly wish i had gotten marmalade instead. fields is losing colors really quickly now it seems.

Pale Yellow is by far the worst colour ever. It feels like thick, cheap felt.

What if you mixed two really thick colors together like noir pents and spanish gold hexs?
I think that color combo would kick ass.

i agree. but ive already tried. fields has informed me that sunshine is so much like tulip in color that they wont carry sunshine and theyll keep tulip. i told her that for the purpose i was buying ultrasuede for that tulip didnt hold up as well as sunshine... but they dont believe me. maybe someone else trying to ask them would work?

i guess my opinion is that

spanish gold is the devil,

black noir isnt bad, peeps just racist.

green mist is for super choice bags, that you need to be gentle with.

tulip sucks.

storm isnt as good as stone.

i need sunshine.

Just a thought, but maybe if you put patching/paper tape as a backing for Tulip, it wouldn't suck so bad.

I'm actually considering in using this facile combo for my rusted steel shot, just to be resourceful and such. It's so stupid it might just work.

I don't think the thickness has anything to do with the color.....I think it is the bolt the cut came from....Like yarn has a di-lot you could get the same color but different di-lot and they will slightly not match. I have black nior and it is thin as heck, people here saying it is thick. My black nior is from a bolt from 2 years ago.

I think thickness is a quality controll issue not a color issue. maybe temporaraly this thread would be helpful to people but after the stores bolts run out and they get new in on order it may be different and that color may be different than before. (the sucky part of not buying in person).
