Maybe ask your doctor, or foot specialist. I guess there are different shoes for different ailments. All I really know is that the people that I know with problems with their feet or legs have been prescribed New Balance. I suppose that they have amazing support and are specially designed for... this sort of thing.

People keep mentioning new balance so I thought I'd point these out (NB 895) http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7193494/c/409.html. They look almost sheddable to me (I know you're looking for walking around shoes but maybe, sometime, you'll suddenly need to shred just a little bit).

I have had 3 pair of New Balance running shoes. They are by far the lightest and most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Highly recommended.

The clipper has a gap and the toebox is pretty small, but daaaaaaamn is the stock insole seriously cushy. Best walking shoes I've ever worn.

I have lavers and I would never wear them all day. My preferred casual sneaker is the air max 90, sooo comfy.

I ended up buying the nastase and a pair of new balance walking shoes.

I've owned these shoes too, and I'd say they are 100% moddable! The only reason I didn't give mine a shot was because I wasn't diggin' the instep and wasn't happy with the shoe weight too.

Wicked shoes for walking around, no doubt about that! Look great, feel extremely comfortable.

They are 100% moddable. The only reason why I didn't mod my pair is because they were $60 a couple of months back, and I didn't have the money to pay for another pair. At around $46 now, though, it seems like a good time to get a fresh pair.

The shoes are pretty heavy, I admit, and since I wear size 7 for these shoes the clipper/instep didn't feel right compared to other footbag shoe alternatives. For bigger sizes, the clipper looks much better!

Just add shoe goo/silicon caulk to fill that gap.

Im still waiting on those nastase's.

Not sure if ill mod them but there is still a chance.

EDIT: I just got the nastase and they are freaking awsome.

The stock insole feels so cushy and good.

Waylon I know for a fact that the low profiles would suit you better than the cross trainers for sure.

The low profiles are exactly what you want if you want a super thin supportive insole.
The low profile is 30% lighter and thinner than the crosstrainers.

They are the shit.
