i say do whatever you like best, that's the best part about stitching, you can make a bag exactly to your liking. keep it up man, its looking better.

anywhos, here are 3 of my latest bags

the one on the left is a little treat for myself and the one on the right is for funtastiks

and this one is going out to cor po(i don't if that is his name, but that's what the e-mail said lol)

Holly, I really like that princess purple/colonial red/country cream bag. Ken Somolinos has a Clavens bag with that same combo, and she's a beauty.

Btw, what's the pattern on the grey and white bag? Or is it just random? Curious.

its actually princess purple/ punch/ and cream... its sweet tits.
the grey and cream one is just 6 pents/ 10 hexes of each color... combined in to random blobs.

hollys grey bag actually mirrors the colors. (like its a yinyang thing, but not.) only two hexes are in the wrong place to be "perfect" pattern

Sweet! Hey, we should do some research on hot patterns for Worlds and trace them if possible - just for fun. Maybe Chris Miller's "yin-yang" pattern in particular.

That is my plan. My bags are so good, and nobody uses them because I don't stitch enough .... so I figure if everybody stitches the same as me, everybody will make the best bags. Yes, it seems impossible, but I'm capable of doing stuff....

And yeh, they are big, but they shrink A LOT. I used to use 1.00" templates and I would stitch 4 mm deep. Those were experiments I know, they didn't play well, but....

Less stitches = less tension on the fabric which = less time to break in. Stitch it with button thread (mostly natural fibres) and you will have a bag that is broken in in minutes. Natural fibres break up like 1000X quicker than any synthetic fibre.

Some tight gather, and you have yourself a nice CowSack. I'm hopefully going to stitch 5 bags, send them to Zac Miley, then hes going to Worlds, then hes going to sell them, then I'm going to pay him $5 for every bag he sells, then everybody at worlds will have a taste of my medicine.

A CowSack a day keeps the doctor away.

imo, no two bags could be the same. unless its the same bag, by the same stitcher. i try to not duplicate bags, but its happened like 20 times in my stitching career.

the template size is not going to make the next guys bag exactly like yours.

filler, stitch technique,thread used, and material used make a much larger difference than just size of a template.

i think it would be kinda funny if we got a bunch of people to try to stitch the same bag. use same colors, thread, template, stitches per side, etc.

i think there would be a lot of difference.

It was only a rough estimate, add or subtract a few.
