Sweet bike dude! Post another pic after you've pimped it properly, please.
Are you gonna go with the fixed or free side of the flip flop? I've got a singlespeed that I cruise around Pgh with, it's super fun. I keep it on the freewheel side, even though that makes me not as cool. But if it were fixed I wouldn't be able to bunnyhop over stuff I don't think, and that wouldn't be any fun.

i went to my local bike shop and they said i could get a Weinmann wheelset with a flip flip for $110. I think thats the best deal I've found.
Once I've sold 3-4 more bags I will have my worlds money and then I can start buying bike gear.
bikes rock. today I have some sore muscles in my back that I didn't know existed.
A girl wants me to go to her ballet class for the bring a friend night or something. I figure it will help with footbag, right?

I think once you try fixed you will never go back.
I ride brakeless fixed with a bike that finally fits me perfectly (third frame fixed buildup with my same wheelset) and it is all I will need for a long long time.
Hey, I should post some pics of my whip in my blog.
It's so easy to make a bike into SS/fixed mode, all you do is take off the excess unnecessary bits (derailleurs front/rear) and if you are going fixed, most likely the rear brake.
Also, you will have to shorten the chain since it will be going around a shorter path without a rear derailleur.
Since it sounds like you have the wheelset under control you can just pop them right onto the bike after having taken the bits off and shortened the chain.
To do the chain you should buy a chain breaker (definitely a worthwhile tool to have, I wind up using mine way more than I thought I would) and you have to SUPER delicately slide a pin far enough out to juuuust squeak the chain apart. Don't go too far and push the pin right through or it'll be a super bitch to get back together.
Anyways, shorten to a length where the chain is taught with the rear axle in the middle of the dropout.

up day tizzles
1) I played till I threw up last night. awesome. my back is starting to hurt again. not awesome.
2) theres a couple bike frames and wheelsets on ebay I am looking to buy. one frame is a 71 raleigh with 58 cm seat tube. it'll be so awesome if i win it. i don't know how many people know all about bike parts but i want to powdercoat it white and get a brown brooks saddle, some brown grip tape and brown deep V's. whee
3) no one in town will hire me.
4) i'm going to make 4 panel bags for the local children's day arts fest. last time i did the same thing with crappier bags and crappier demonstration skills i made $150. i have high hopes.
5) routine songs are hard to pick. but cherographing a good routine is satisfying.
6) haven't approached dropless on my shred30. bad!
7) need 800 bucks for worlds. have 600. buying this bike stuff will put me back farther.

I came with 20 footbags to sell for $5 each and sign that said so. I played right next to my sign for about 30 min. and sold out. pretty good considering everyone else was there from 10 to 3.
one person who i met yesterday was a mom who could play pretty well. she was really excited about it and said several times that hacky sacks were the best thing ever. she bought 4. against my urging she decided against a 32.
i want to busk throughout the rest of the arts fest (till sunday) but I screwed up my lower back pretty serious, even though I played through it yesterday. It's actually my tail bone. I talked to my mom about it because she has had chronic back pain for a while and she says its exactly where her back hurts. the pain is actually pretty much gone (injured on monday) but I am really fearful for worlds and all the long bike rides I want to take.

Oh damn! big bike purchase, what was on the bill??
I will be SO jealous if you say you have deep V's already.
I'd guess that there isn't room for a brooks in that budget either.

my LBS is building the wheels for me
vintage dura ace cranks!! a steal for only $40
39X15 gearing, fixed.
oh, and all of this is on a new frame I picked up for $40. 1970's univega. its way smaller than that Peugeot. the Univega is like a 58 compared to the 64 Peugeot.
the bike store i go to is really cool. its all about recycling parts and stuff. Thats how i got all the old quality parts, instead of more expensive new ones.
oh, and I am trying to register to the FGG forum. I read it all the time and look at all the bikes. By looking at them, I've sort of decided I don't want deep V's anyway. style wise I prefer the wheels to be polished and minimalistic.
Still on my bike shopping list is:
-new saddle (LBS has a big pile of used ones for $10, with some wide brooks in there. I'm hoping to find a B17 under closer inspection, but I don't think they're that dumb)
-new drop bars and stem, hopefully a nitto noodle and comparable nitto stem. all the cool kids rock the risers/bullhorns I guess but drops rule my world.
-cross levers to put on my new bars. right now I'm running a flop and chop sporting a normal road lever for the front only on a freewheel. gross.
talking about bikes is so much fun! also I can't play footbag right now because of my back, so bikes have kind of taken over my world. I hope I'll have a bit of time to practice before worlds, but I guess its more important to be able to play my best at worlds.

yeah, those clips are absolute shhiiiiiitttt but so far I have just done what I need to to get it riding. the front wheel, pedals and bars/brake are all disgusting.

its actually 39x15 and i don't think its that much different than 42x16. let me check.
yeah you are exactly one gear inch bigger than me, assuming the cranks are equal and blah blah blah...
anyway this ring/cog combo is just what was cheapest at the bike shop here and the guy strongly recommended I try it even though i wanted something bigger. i flew down the biggest hill I could find and didn't spin out so i like it well enough.
i can't wait to get new pedals with straps and learn to skid!

school started today. i don't have that many friends in my classes. in my health class today my teacher asked everyone what was special about them and I said I played hacky sack. everyone thought i was joking.
i am the editor in chief of my school newspaper this year. I would like to have an article about footbag in an issue at some point but I don't know how that would work. i can't write an article about scott or dave because aren't really involved at my school.
