Boredom. How to solve?

Post by habitat »

I've left my house twice in the past month and a half. Footbag isn't fun, it's work. I play the keyboard for at least 2 hours a day. That still leaves the 16 hours left of my day for stuff to do. I feel like I've been sitting in front of this computer my whole life  And I'm poor. But I am open to all suggestions, except play footbag.

Any suggestions ... ?

New instruments. Traditional Martial Arts. Juggling. Pen spinning. Jump rope. Hop skotch. Pretend it's Halloween and go knock on ppls doors, but first set up a log in front of their house and crawl out of it dressed up as Fred Penner :P

Get a job? Not only are you not poor anymore, but you have 30 (give or take..drive, etc) minutes before and after work that you are preparing/relaxing, and then the hours of work itself.

Yeah, a job for sure. I'm moving out of town to Missoula soon and getting a job there. I'm stuck in the transitional phase where I'm just waiting around for the time to come, saving all the money I got. It gets pretty boring sitting at home alone. I wish I had my yoyo Ol' yeller. 8)

I once heard this song lyric... "if you're bored then you must be boring too" and since then I've made it a point to never be bored.

When I have free time (aka when I'm not working, kicking, or drinking) I honestly do a lot of reading. And unless you live by some fucked up library it's free.

Reading is something I can't really get in to. I enjoy it for the most part, but I'm famous for reading the first half of a book and never picking it up again. I kind of gave up on it.

I started to learn the guitar yesterday. Is it just me, or is it like 1000x harder than piano? And it hurts my hands a lot.

A lot of that is bad form. How are you holding the neck of your guitar?

It's easier to put your thumb smack in the middle of the neck when first learning to help build strength to hold the strings down easier.
As the universe is curved, there cannot be a straight answer...
