At what point were your bags good?

And also, like, maybe post what you voted too, because that would give me/us a better idea of who said which number.

Okay, so I guess the definition of a "good" bag should be something like:
-your bags didn't get significantly better after this particular number (plateau/peak?) -- not counting modifications later down the road (like new models, or whatever)
-you started playing with your own bags over other stitchers'
-you felt they were good enough to sell to a professional player
-

I had other qualifications for a good bag, but can't remember, but I think you get the idea. Oh yeah, please post, because the numbers don't necessarily have any meaning if they are just posted by anybody (ie: a non-stitcher could post and mess everything up).

I just want to get a feel for how long it's taken most people to start making "good" bags.

Depends: I made over 50 twelve panels before selling first one and was happy how they played around 40. I started playing with my own bags around 20th because our dog ate my Felix.

Before that I had made around 20 four panels.

For 32 panels it was like 5-10 bags because I had the basic bag crafting skills already.
So IÂ´d say +30?

It was tough for me to learn just from internet tutorials, but I didn't give up. I recently had recieved my new filler, making me choose my bags to shred with over bags i had bought from professiona stichers.

They feel and play great, all i have to do is work on their appearence and get the gather just right.

it took a long time.

i started selling them at like 40. they were real cheap, and worked, but thats it.

they started being alright at like 120---novemberish

and they got good at like 170--feb. maybe march.

basically 200 bags and one year later.

His first bag was the shit as I remember.

I think it just depends on the person and how much time and effort he puts into it.
This is tobys 5th bag!!!!!

What do you do with all of the bags that aren't quite "good" up until that point? Does every stitcher have a big drawer somewhere with a million beginner bags?

I'm very excited to learn a lot from my stitching friends at Worlds!

i traded the first 50 or so. then sold.

i only hvae about 10 of my own bags, and holly owns like 5 of mine. and i have a shit ton of bags that arent really any good.

and then theres the "exp" stitchers bags. i just didnt play with them once my bags were how i wanted.

i gave away alot of my newb bags to nfb members too. so share the wealth of bags, wether they be good or not, theyll be appreciated.

Im still early in my bag making. Ive made probably 50. Looks and playability do not go hand in had. Some absolutely beautiful bags wont play worth a shit. i spend a lot of time changing my pattern, using more of less gather. It just takes time for it to click where u can think or even say your bags are good enough to sell to people.

I handed most of them for my friends and family friends kids. ->More people to play footbag.

I also saved my very first (terrible) bag.

What do you do with your first 30 newbie bags? Give them away to friends and trade them with other stitchers!

Seeing more bag styles helps immensely by giving you an ideal of what you want to achieve with your own style of footbags.
