Yeah, Andrew is a jerk... in the sense that he is a complete superstar, accomplishing more than tons of people will accomplish in their entire lives.
1) Play footbag as long as possible (and other footbag stuff that goes with that)
2) Draw a comic book (and maybe more... make a living from drawing comic books???)
3) Have some friends and have good times and memories (Oh, and become more outgoing -- that's a big one)
4) Travel (I'm hoping that Worlds '08 will help with that... ideally it would be radical to travel Europe before or after Prague)
5) Have a family and kids and be happy
That's pretty much it. I'm pretty simple, I think.
A goal that I've accomplished:
1) Become better at hacky sack than Freddie Prinze Jr.
Oh, and I guess another neat "accomplishment" was being the first of my brothers to get a degree, especially when I was the one who hated school the most when I was younger, and barely passed (including first couple of years of University). I also had a 4.0 average in my last couple of years (Manitoba is a bit different than other provinces... I think our top is 4.5?)
Oh, and I scored a really great girlfriend, which is radical.

I view this as a great accomplishment. Maybe not in school and whatever, but I notice a lot of my working friends hate their job and can't wait for the weekend. That sounds pretty sucky to me, I love my job, and I'm pretty happy with that.HG wrote:I dont know, I haven't really done anything great, who knows if i ever will, as long as I am content with my life i don't feel like i have to accomplish anything amazing.
p.s. Andrew: my god. I half expected you to say you were having us on at the end of all that. That's ridiculous

I feel like I have accomplished alot and yet I still have mountains of work ahead of me.
I am really proud of my dedication to the things I've been working on.
- I am glad I've stuck with the footbag shoe project so long, this is an accomplishment that will see years of work added to it
- I am SO glad I still shred!! yeah! Footbag just keeps getting better if you stick to it
- I feel like throwing tournies (GLASS, KICKASS 1&2) has been one of the more important things I've done since I was able to make big groups of my close friends super happy all at once
- I love that I've shared footbag with so many new people.
- I love that so many people have wanted to learn to stitch from me, I super duper respect it when they stick with it and get awesome (pengpeng, matt cross, aidan, josh digges, john bagi to name but a few)
- I passed school!!!! I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering which basically means I am set for life.
- I got 29th in the world at hackysack last year!!!!!
- I can make a footbag with my own hands that I prefer to any other bag in the world.
- I am really proud to be recognized as someone who has invented footbag tricks. Seriously though, I am not that good, how come all the better shredders aren't coming up with stuff?
- I was really honored to be a judge and MC at world's last year
I guess I could just keep going and going but it is starting to feel just like bragging now.
What do I have left to accomplish? Too much!!
- I am planning to team up with Planet Footbag where I will direct my boundless enthusiasm towards the Quantum project. I feel like that is the best next logical step as they are the people that are doing the most towards legitimizing footbag and I would love to encourage that.
- I want to make finals at world's some year. I don't know how that got into my head, but it's there and not getting out.
- I want to be the lead singer of a heavy metal drum and bass band. I've got it all under control in my head, I am just waiting for the right time and place in my life to attack this passion.
- I want to be a bike messenger for a while
- I need to find the time to tackle all my other passions to the extent that they warrant (fixed gears (eventually move onto real track bike racing), juggling, slackline, music)
I guess I just really want to do massive stuff. I want to have an impact and make use of all this passion and drive I feel. I think I am special and unique and capable of alot, so it'd be a waste for me to not follow through on all of this.

Wow, this is so awesome
.
Most of what has happened to me in life has been negative, but with positive educational results. I feel that I am wise for my age, and I'm super excited to meet all the ppl(especially footbaggers) and experience all the things that will give me further wisdom.
My greatest accomplishment would have to be my music.
A friend of mine started a record label, that I now own. Nothing big, but it's a personal project. I am currently working on recording 4 CDs which will probly come out as 2 bands, that I will hopefully be releasing mid 2008! IZA BEATS AZA!!!!!
My drummer, Josh is my favorite person alive, (outside my family), he's my best friend and one of 2 ppl who truly understand me, the other being my bass player and fellow 905 SHREDDER Jason. With my music, I have already a solid following, in the towns that I've played in so far. I have played shows with a few really great bands, Alexis On Fire being the biggest name I've played with. Arkata being my favorite.
I love that with music I have an emotional outlet because without it I don't know what I would do.
I love that after 10 yrs, I have realized that I know very little have a lot to learn.
I love that I have not stopped progressing at the one thing I strive to be great at someday!
I love that ppl seem to enjoy my music, for the most part
.
I love that I currently have 2 succesful students( success meaning that they are better than 13/16 of the ppl who will pick up a guitar
)
I love my new guitar, and my old one too!
Outside of music, I'm glad that I know how to defend myself effeciently, and that I have enough knowledge to pass that ability on to others.
I have been on my own since the age of 19, and although I've had some rough times, I have a good grip on life right now.
I'm glad I was raised french, because it makes me an asset to alot of companies around the world, and has kept me at my current company for 7 months after my contract ended!
The one thing I am proudest of is that I set a good example of who not to be for my sister, and she is better off than I will ever be. At 22 yrs old, she is just as wise as I am because she learned from my mistakes and listens to what I have to say. She graduated the smartest person in her high school, and was given $6000 in scholarships. She is now a uni graduate of French Linguistics, and has completed teacher's college, and worked full time throughout to pay for school without help. That's right, no loan. She's set for life and that makes me happier than anything. And she's also following in my musical footsteps
.
What I would like to accomplish in the future is completing my albums and getting them out for ppl to hear. I don't care if I get rich so long as the music can sustain my lifestyle, which has been that of a poor man for a long time
.
I want to get my label/recording studio in full swing in the next 2 yrs. Any suggestions for a name?? I was thinking Starving Artist Club, or S.A.C.
Once this is done, I want to set up an online comunity under S.A.C. for artists of all sorts, like myspace, but geared to ALL kinds of art, where labels and scouters and stuff will come in and be able to find ppl who would otherwise not get exposure for all kinds of projects.
I want to involve as many ppl in my group of friends in my projects as possible, and be able to pay them well.
Erik, you said you wanted to do a comic someday. I will be needing illustrators and whatnot for the inlet on my albums (because my songs are pretty much all little stories) and I really like your stuff. Wanna combine efforts?? You'll get money and exposure
.
I want to promote footbag with my music, and hopefully bring it to ppl who would otherwise not find out about it.
One thing that makes me truly happy was being introduced to this comunity. Footbaggers are the best ppl in the world!!

Thanks, Danny. I would still be proud of my club even if no one had ever heard of us and we never did a damned thing for the scene. It's pretty cool that we've been around for a while with the core still in tact. We're still growing, slowly, but still growing. That makes me extremely happy
Hopefully this will get me motivated again.

I just had a chilli cheese dog for lunch... and a pizza puff.

I have not run in 2 weeksIn Health & Injuries wrote:Sat March 16 I wrote:Back to jogging,
Yesterday was the first time in 2 years that I have run. Last year I was primarilly cycling to stay active ( not necessarily to be in shape). I didn't really lose any weight. Then again I wasn't watching my intake of food either.
Friday at the park, it was hard to know whether to push myself farther or just safely do as much as I could. I jogged half a mile nonstop then another half walking in short intervals when my lungs felt like collapsing. It's funny how much more perceptive you are of your body while running. All the fat bouncing around, every bead of sweat running down your head, and feet aching from a different pair of shoes. All this while arguing with yourself:
-this shit hurts!
-keep going
-what the fuck are we running from? no one is chasing us!
-one more block
-my feet hurt!
-just keep running
-hard to breathe out here
-push!
-we can always put this off later
-no. Now
-It's ok, were not obese yet
-would you please shut the fuck up?
-why not wait until a new pair of shoes and the weather gets better?
-cuz this gut prevented me from lacing up the shoes currently on
-so?
-I haven't seen my abs since the mid 90's
-they're still there, just insulated from the cold
-I look like I'm pregnant!
-if it's a boy I'll name him, !Zeke
-you know, this isn't helping...Mon April 16 I wrote:The past 2 weeks I've just jogged around the neighborhood around LaRAZA. It's about a mile per lap. The best I could manage was running about half a mile and walking a bit to catch my breath then run again to finish off the mile. I do this for up to 2 miles. I'm completely exhausted at the end.
I got a new pair of Nike Assails in the mail today and jogged at the park near the office which is about 3/4 of a mile around. To my surprise I finished the first lap feeling strong and continued to try another 1/2 lap before I need to catch my breath. Another 1/2 lap goes by and I've still go my breath and a good rhythm going. Next thing I know I've done 2 laps non stop, about a mile and a half! End of the lap comes and goes and I'm still feeling strong so I go for a third. The whole time my mind was focused and not waging civil war. I finish the third lap about as easily as I had done the previous two. I started walking back to the office. About a block into it I decided to jog the rest of the way to end up running a total of just under 3 miles this morning!
I get to work feeling a little tired but not completely spent. Was it the new shoes? The change in scenery? A complete miscalculation? I don't know. but that's easily the best run I've ever had.I've been trying to jog every Monday, Wednesday and Friday since the weather warmed up to lose weight and get in better shape. For the most part I've stuck to my schedule. If I were as disciplined with my diet, my results would be far better I think. At five feet and four inches tall I was a little over 160lbs before running and I'm currently 148lbs. My stomach is slimmer (still no sign of my abs yet but I know they're in there somewhere) and my stamina has dramatically improved. I started out at struggling to jog 1/2 a mile to doing 3 1/2 miles and still feeling strong at the end of the run.Mon June 18 I wrote:Ran 3.5 miles again today. Drank plenty of water before I left the house but it was really hot today. I had to stop at the water fountain in the park at every lap.
I used to hate just the idea of jogging but now I'm very thankful that I do run and I feel like I'm in better shape now than I was in my teens or 20's although not as skinny. I cycle often too and will probably be adding sprint and plyometric training to help me out for footbag net.

yeah, true that zeke. that makes me think about the fact that for the first 10 or so months i played footbag, i never played with anyone that could hit a clipper. then i kicked for awhile with a kid who was roughly at my level, then he quit. so basically for the first year and a half or so i played completely solo, but stuck with it. by the end of september boston shred crew has 4 members that can shred at a guiltless level, and probably 4 more that are working their way through various levels of tiltlessness, several of whom i personally got started playing footbag.
i really never thought there would be an actual club in boston. i cant totally take the credit, but its still really cool to see and be a part of.

true, footbagwise you havent really achieved that much .
you just invented some the hardest and styliest moves outhere and the
achievement of landing those is still regarded as being hardcore today .
your flipsider site helped many players like me to understand footbag
and to instill a hunger for more footbag related knowledge .
you co-created circle comp, if i'm not mistaken .
you convinced lets say 89 % of all freestylers that they actually have 2 feet .
your site, your attidude and also your video work helped footbag to be
more professional .
btw, i think it is good that you didnt write all that yourself, patting yourself
on the shoulder and what not, but still, this kind of understatemant sorta
reminds me of certain girls at school, who where like : oh my god, i've failed this test for sure..." only to get the best result everytime

I really like these.
I've beaten Resident Evil 4 four times in hard difficulty. Twice without using the the Infinite Launcher or Chicago Typewriter. I just used upgraded 'normal' weapons. The knife is your best friend. I may try a no upgrade run.
I want to be good at Net. I want to drill hard when Cory and Scot get back from Worlds. It would be nice to be able to receive a serve and be able to set myself up for a spike in singles. By the end of next year I want to be able to hit a roll spike
In the next couple of months I want to design a cool Net shirt.

well as far as accomplishments go i have few to none but i am really proud of myself for just being able to let things go, for the longest time i was the biggest worrier in the world i swear to god, but as soon as sophmore year hit i started to realize i DONT have to worry and i DONT have to sweat every little thing. and since then ive just been doing great, i no longer care about how perfect my grades are, or how much people like me, or if im a horrible boyfriend and instead am just focusing on having a great time with friends and playing as much footbag as i can.
and i guess for things i would like to accomplish
-be kinder all round
-draw more
-get a job?
thats about it

Some time during my life I would like to learn several languages and martial arts. I can be quite the foul person in any language, so I'll need to defend myself effectively.
