Hello, My names Stephen. And I'm just now starting to hack.

I really just started getting interested in footbag for some random reason that i don't know. I randomly searched for it on youtube a couple weeks ago at my friends house while waiting to play guitar hero... I was amazed at what I saw, looked into it more, and now I am starting the sport!

I also aggressive skate a lot (at a pretty good level I guess), so I use my feet and legs for more than walking and have some good coordination which might help. Footbag will probably overall improve my coordination a lot helping me skate better though.

I'm influenced by music more than anything though. I listen to music more than I'm not while I'm awake. Usually rock, jazz, blues, folk, reggae, psychedelic, country, and all their fusions and forms from the 60's and 70's... some 80's, but not too much past 87-ish. I'm not musically blind or uneducated though past then, I know more than most about music anytime from 1950's up, and probably before that. I just really can't stand 99.999999999999999% of anything made past the mid 80's. I can only stand 40-50% of the early 80's. I detest rap. I hate what is now called rock and country. I have yet to find any real blues, jazz, or folk in the mainstream. I have found some though. Punk now is just loud pop and sucks. Psychedelic is pretty much dead. Theres some reggae though. Not much. But I still love music more than anything. I love to talk about anything music, so talk to me people. Or if you have found that 0.0000000000000001% go for it and tell me. Oh... and I'm also starting to learn guitar.


The reason I'm here, though, is footbag. Completelly new. I'm registered on Footbag Worldwide, IFPA, and here. I'm from Beaumont, Texas an hour from Houston were NOBODY plays footbag unless they did it once and it was called hacky-sack. I'll try to bring in some recruits though.

I just ordered myself a pair of Rod Lavers, 2 Rasta style Mr. Sandbags, Tricks of the Trade 1 DVD, and a Spenco full cover molding shock-absorbing support thing. Which should arrive wednesday-ish I guess. Then I'll begin shredding. Till then though, I thought I'd start a blog and learn about footbag from you guys, and maybe talk some.

Good job with the lavers and Mr.sandbag and the video.

You might want to mod your lavers with a lacing mod and inside mesh removal.

The only tips i can give you so far is the practice consecutive hits with your strong and weak leg. Keeping both feet at the same level and only being able to hit 10 is a hell of alot better than being able to hit 1000 with one foot.

Welcome to modified!

I'm also a beginner and believe me, that stuff you bought is really worth it. Helps a TON during the learning stages. It also helps to practice barefoot. (finally can strong side clipper barefoot . drilling flip clippers like mad now)

Recruiting's always fun, I've tried it since there are NO footbaggers near my area. None. Nada. Zip. But I do enjoy telling people about the sport. Not always pleasant though.

It's really hard to impress some people enough to be interested when you're not even tiltless yet.
