What kind of patching tape?

Post by BuckRuckus »

I know this has been dicussed before, but I can't find the thread. I was just at the drug store - faced with a wide variety of medical tape, and didn't know which to choose. (obviously I want to use it to patch my footbags, and possibly to tape shut my brothers' eyelids while he sleeps).

Any help would be apreciated.

Just look for water proof patching tape, mefix is a recommended one, although i could not find it and just bought a Johnson and Johnson patching tape roll that works just fine.

Yeah I bought a Johnson and Johnson brand patching tape too, it works pretty well but tends to peel off during washing.

Mine have yet to peel off. Just remember to appy the patching tape in circles,( not in sqaures, triangles or polygons) because any corners give dirt the leverage to peel the patch off. I read that in another thread :D

Mefix

Call your local medical supplies store and ask for it. It's not available at Shopper's Drug Mart though Mike.

Thanks Peng. I bought that Johnsons and Johnsons crap and it sucks. No wonder people still think glue is better.

There should be a Nexcare or J&J version that is very, very much like the Mefix version. Identical even. It should come on a roll and is labeled "Soft Cloth Tape."

I don't know. I guess you should just look around.

I came into possession of a little square of patching tape. I think it's mefix, but I'm not sure. It's incredible, and I've never had it peel off or anything, and I don't even cut in circles. Glue is messy and ugly in my opinion.

I don't know where to get it though, so I'm not really helping. I guess I'm saying that if you find the right stuff, then it should be awesome.
