I think that you'd both do well to try to make your toe stalls a little less scoopy. Both of your symp mirages and Cassy's pickups come to mind specifically.

Good vid, you two have gotten good pretty quickly.

hello my friends! I see a lot of propful posts here, and I'd like to start this one out as one as well. Props on your improvement and new moves since I've seen you last, it's striking! now, I'm going to watch the video again, and include some thoughts on things that might bring you guys to the next level. I watched it before, and thought of some things, so I'll try that again...

andrew, you might consider warming up by doing tiltless with your arms out at the side, with close attention to balance and good posture. try to look like ales zelinka, basically. Letting my arms go all crazy and having less than good posture while I shred held me back for a very long time. it would be cool if those things didn't hold you back as long as they did to me. cassy, after watching you, I guess I could give you the same advice.

cassy, your toe stalls have a lot of scoop and followthrough to them after you catch. if you reduced that, I think you'd find yourself having a lot more control of the bag, and better form. andrew, you also have some of this scoopage on easy tricks. that scoop looks great on osis and rake and such, but it might hold you back a bit for toe shred.

andrew, if you roll your shorts once or twice at the top, or get a shorter pair, you will open up your windows a lot, and it will allow you to have a more precise, controlled style.

So, really not much. you guys are looking great, definitely improving. it's great to see and I can't wait to play with you again.

so, in brief, shorter shorts, stand up straight, get those arms down, and trim down your style so it's more precise, and you guys will get even better even faster. can't wait to see :) keep shredding.

ps: if you guys are happy with your style and games, then, by all means, don't take this stuff to heart, and just keep on like you're going. once again, looking good.
BRICK!

Thanks for the great comments everyone :)

I didn't even really realize the thing about the scoopy toe stalls until it was pointed out. I'm working on it now though 8)

I disagree about the short shorts, if you have BIGGER windows, how does it make your game more precise? I play with shorts that are just barely above my knee, anything shorter isn't necessary, but i guess makes it a bit easier.

Andrew:

More cushion on your clippers. I don't mean with the clipper foot, I mean with the support leg. When you cushion too much with your foot it's ugly, and it makes harder moves even harder (and bad for you). So, less cushion with your foot, more with your leg.

Try and keep your hands relaxed and (somewhat) open. I know monkey claw is hard to control (I used to have it) but it is seriously really ugly. I don't mean to like, offend you or anything, but on some of your strings I'm watching your hands instead of your feet. It's also a good idea to keep your hands below your head (at least).

DO NOT PLANT on far legover, infinity and definitely not pdx mirage (goes for almost all far/pdx tricks). Seriously. If you plant on one of those tricks, just hand catch the bag and start your string over. Ew.

Posture. It is really important for good looking shred. Watch videos of Ales Zelinka before you shred. You'll mimic him subconciously. At least I do.

Cassy:

The rakey/scoopy whatever you wanna call it stuff is cool looking, but don't do it all the time. It will make hard tricks harder, and it will make your easy tricks so that you can't do them without the scoop. Best get rid of them now.

Monkey claw and posture paragraphs from Andrew's "critique" apply to you as well.

Maybe put some more spin in your osii. I think you should be facing opposite the way you started the trick, and try not to catch it until you are about halfway through the "spin"

Both you guys are gonna be good, I liked the vid. :D

EDIT: lol I just read Matt's post and he said to watch Ales too.
