EDIT:My heavily upgraded 99 Specialized Rockhopper A1 FS. Only original parts still left are the wheels, rear deraileur, drivetrain and the frame. I'm gonna hate putting it away for the winter.

Turns out I don't work today. Any one wanna do something? Call me. If not, I'm just gonna go for a ride by the lake.

Didn't ride yesterday. My legs were too sore. My hamstrings are still sore from about 7+ hours of playing on Sunday. I was really looking forward to hanging out with Hood on Sunday but I didn't call him in time to coordinate things

Stayed indoors all day yesterday playing GT4 and watching The History Channel. That's probably the most tv I've watched since winter. Jeez, I feel guilty just typ[ing it out. I would much rather have been out and about but I used my soreness as a weak excuse. Soon enough it will be too cold to ride my bike and I would kill for a chance to just be in the sun and riding my bike.

Vince beat me in a singles game on Sunday but I got the next 2 we played. Singles matches really sucks when one person is a begginer. Even worse when both are begginers. There's not much spiking going on but there are plenty of shanks and whiffs. Played a little takraw too. It's a little easier to control and makes a nice big target to spike. Got a couple wicked flying scuffs that nailed Marty in the chest twice and one that nearly took Lazaro's head off.

Did some spike practice with Vince and Jake. Vince has made some good progress with his sole shoves but his sweeps still need some work. He's not getting enough momentum on his swing. Jakes flexability makes his front backs and pulldowns look real easy. He gave me a good tip on pulldowns that helped me finally get one over the net. All I had to to was lean back more. My scuff and sweeps felt pretty good. Front backs were inconsistant. Toe reverse and sun backs still give me problems.

I took a break from net to play some squares. Vince played his first full games and that bastard got 19 points on his second game. Marty and Tom were on fire and nearly unstopable. Nathan and I were not playing up to out level and just plain stunk it up. It was still fun to play though, it's been a while.

Shred for a few minutes.

Spike practice against the wall at IP in the 60618 the past few days. I mainly focus on scuffs, sweeps and serves. My sweeps are finally coming around and I get about the same power as my scuffs. I'm very pleased with my round kick serve. It's got great speed and I can consistantly get it just over the net. Unfortunately since I'm aiming for a spot on the wall it's impossible to know if any of the serves or spikes will land in bounds.

Interesting moment while Tom was watching a couple fathers playing baseball with their kids. He commented how they were wasting their time with the same tone of disgust and distaste I've heard him use on subjects like work and industrial designers. I was a little shocked by it. Tom said he wouldnt expect me to understand. I would personally love to spend more time with my neices and help them grow up to be intelligent, responsible and open minded adults. Is that a waste of time? Or should I go ahead and let my brother and his wife let them grow up to be little brats and eventually tomorrows jakotas?

God-fucking- dammit. We're running an hour and a half late so far at the office. Waste of time indeed.

I want to try and change my attitide towards footbag. More specifially any favoritism to any particular games/disciplines. When I meet new players I want them to learn to appreciate ALL forms of footbag as opposed to my previous views of 'fuck net' or 'fuck freestyle'. If I am to see sessions with net, shred and squares regularly in Chicago, I feel this change is necessary.

My uncle is getting a new digital still camera and he'll be giving me his old Canon PowerShot S2 IS. The Canon is far superior in just about every aspect than my prehistoric Sony Mavica. I've already found a used lens adapter and a wide angle lens, both for cheap! Can't wait to get out and just start snapping pics again... it's been too long.

So, the camera is effectively mine. Been taking a bunch of shots of interesting things. I don't know shit about photography, I just like to take lots of pics. Here are some of my favorites the past couple days. We just had some major storms blow through. At the top of this page is a new pic of my bike that I just got back from the shop.

It was really muggy just before the storm so I decided to take a quick shower to cool off. I lowered (not shut, it was too freakin hot) most of the windows and jumped in the shower. Five minutes later I walk out of the bathroom and see this.
Image
Notice how the window was barely 2 inches/5cm wide. The wind was so strong the rain didn't even drop, it flew sideways! It managed to blow rain through the top of the bathroom window which is covered by a 10 foot over hang. That's fucking crazy.

The zoom means little to me since I'll most likely be using a wide angle lens up close to footbaggers. I'm sure the zoom will come in handy sooner or later. I've been reading the freaking manual for 2 days and I've barely covered any of the options and settings yet. I sure can recognize and change some dead batteries though!

Photo tour of my room coming soon. Shot these with my Mavica a while ago though. I'll update with a new set once I have everything for the PowerShot.

Schedule at work has changed. Work morning shift all week and getting all the Saturdays for now. Good for money, bad for free time.

Network is down again @ LaRAZA so no room tour just yet. Slight delay on my camera lens. Adapter should be coming in at the same time so it might just work out.

No nieces last weekend :(

Never had a phone conversation with Emily that I didn't like.

Blah.

Niiiiice storm (pet...if that's possible). Haha...I miss bad storms. PA got them bad. And then I moved to GA and WV. They all seem like they'll get good and then blow over. Grr.
