Jorden you are super sick, props on that move.

I can certainly agree with a lot of your thoughts in your recent serious post. I'm probably at about 1/1000th of your level but I drill daily outside on campus and am willing to talk to anyone who passes by with the occasional, "Wow you're amazing!" or "Do you play soccer? What's that called?" I have been playing with the NYFA in Washington Sq Park as often as possible, and it feels good to get this game some love from the general public. When someone clueless walks up and asks about footbag, I give them everything they need to know if they want to learn more.

Yes, it sucks that this game takes so long to learn how to do even the most basic stalls, which is why it is such a niche sport to begin with. And no, people probably won't order a sandman from freedom footbags after I give them the website, but sparking interest in people is the first step towards widening the popularity of the sport. Kudos to you for speaking your mind; keep on keepin' on.

If he meant new for him, he couldn've meant Symp. Barraging Nuclear/Quasi; since his Symp. Barraging DSO was so good.

If he meant new as in invention..... I have no idea.

Back from Worlds.

Whooo-eee it was a good one.

For those who stayed home you missed a helluva time. Prague in 08 -- no excuses next year.

Great shred, lots of filming by veteran filmmakers. Expect some dandies.

Met Orton, Ashley and Sam, TayChaint, Evgeny, many fans of mine and a slew of stoked newbies.

Met Sunil Jani, one of my original BAP heroes.

Met/got a photo with JOHN STALBERGER.

I got footbag advice at a tournament for the first time in 3 years.

Learned many insights into better nutrition, cross-training, and more effective footbag form.

Jim truly is a World Class player. He surpassed basically all my expectations, way better than when we last kicked. It was a great Worlds for him.

Lon, about 8 years older than me, is at the peak of his game. Truly inspiring. He was busting harder than ever. He is definitely the master of themed combos. Shred on, Lon.

Tina destroyed the women's competitions. It was cool hanging with her all week. She is very reserved, humble and down to earth.

Peter Irish is and always will be the MAN. Repped hard in a circle I saw on the Wednesday. Hit ripped warrior swirl and some cool flyers. He then threw down some feet/hands stuff. Got some great ideas and tips simply from watching.

Got some new loot! Quantum 2s (all grey, size 12), BOTS, Worlds Helsinki docu, Hall of Famers shirt and a couple more Nighthacks. Woo! I think Quantum 2s will be my next shred shoe.

My Dad had a great time at Worlds. A lot of people were really stoked to meet him. Apparently he signed some autographs and was in an interview or two. Sadly, he partied more than I did.

I now know why Vasek is so good and how he got that way. There are many things I can now do to train effectively like him.

Some people think I'm really bummed about not making finals. I'm not, to be honest. I learned way more about routine planning and strategy by getting kicked out than winning ever could.

Had really good scores in Shred 30 semis and finals. My semis score is wrong, and Vasek's probably is too. He earned his first place in finals. Btw, if you think Shred 30 will be around for many years to come, think again.

Played great in Circle competition, some of my best shred ever...except for Finals. I always choke in Finals. :(

Had some epic meetings with big names discussing some pretty revolutionary changes to the sport. You will know when the time comes.

After Worlds I feel like I've leveled up. There are so many new things I want to do to add to my performance, and life in general.

What I'll be working on from now till Prague 08:

- getting the website up and running (quite soon, actually)
- using my website blog instead of posting on modified
- practicing with Quantum 2s
- trying to have a perfect diet
- regular swimming/weight training/aerobics
- yoga and acrobatics
- a couple new videos, for promo purposes
- completely revamping my style
- developing a new experimental trickset
- filming a groundbreaking footbag DVD
- mastering hands+feet juggling
- creating a 45-minute stage show with many different skills
- schoolwork?

Thanks to all who have inspired me to improve and encouraged me to reach my fullest potential. Expect a new me in time for Worlds next year.

Peace,
Jorden

It was cool meeting you Jorden. I think you were the person that took me longest to get the courage to talk to; I was at the event for 2 days before I finally decided to.

I got a signature on my Worlds tshirt from "Mr. Destroyer" (...and one from Jorden too...). Your dad is so cool, Jorden! He seems so completely supportive and into the scene -- we were all so happy for you! I learned a lot about chi when he drove me to the site one day ;)

I'd pre-ordered and tried to get my Helsinki documentary too, but I couldn't find anyone from Finland :(

It was awesome to see you again, and watch you shred!! I'm very excited for your DVD!

Hey Jorden
Your correct shred 30 semi score is 278, props!

I'm really interested about the diet and training method, I started a diet some months ago but not "perfect".

Good luck with all your plans, looking forward to the new Jorden style!

Noooo! Say it aint so! Its a way cool event i think. They just need to get the scoring right from the get-go. For something that is purely counting and formula, it gets messed up at virtually every event.

Can you share any of your insight through hanging with Vasek? When i had the chance i didnt know what to ask about hahaha

Looking forward to see everything on that list live. Except of the homework you can keep that for yourself. Haha

How did the workshops go? I really hope you will do it next year.
Otherwise I might just punk you for alot of knowledge.

See you soon. Only 11 months or something.

Just out of curiosity, what is it about your style that makes you think it needs revamping?

Amateurs practice until they can get it right.
Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Yes, I got first dibs on your post of meeting people. Cool points for me! :P Anyway man, you're 100% right, you need to get some muscles, but I don't believe walking on the insides of your feet everywhere will do that for you. I'll see you in Prague most likely, we can arm wrestle.

Yo man. Congrats on being humble enough to learn from not making finals instead of being bitter about it. My respect for you just went up a notch..(not that it only went up a wee bit or anything, just that wasnt too much room to get it all the way up there  )

Alright, as for why I originally wanted to post......Yoga? Hells ya buddy. It's great and I do it sometimes. I myself am more into Wing Chun Kung Fu as well as Tai Chi Qi Gong.
I prefer these over Yoga simply because you get to develop a skill in which there is no peak of ability.
I practice Wing Chun for marial ability and effectiveness, and Tai Chi for relaxation and Chi-flow regulation.

As far as weight training goes, KETTLEBELLS 8) !!!!!!
Wanna feel like a man?? KETTLEBELLS :P !!
Seriously though, just ask Tom. Plus you can juggle them. One at a time mind you :P .

Coming back from worlds I never expected you would have inspired me to pick up juggling, but seeing that in person was sweet!! Especially some of the doubles juggling.

As I didn't get a chance to ask you at worlds I'm still kind of curious, what are you studying in school?

Hey Jordan,
Even though we rarly talked you inspired me to practice way more. I guess its because your just so damn commited to the sport. You so great at juggling and footbag, and yet you want to be better!

ps: i loved your routine.

-=Thursday Sept. 6th, 2007=-

Pulling this thread from page 3. Yikes!

Yesterday was probably the most important day in my life so far. Long story short, I went from being super depressed and confused to being super bounce-off-the-walls excited and motivated.

Basically, my mom and I convinced my Dad to let me start my own business as a full-time professional footbag player this school year instead of being trapped at the University of Guelph. This is HUGE.

This is what my life was GONNA be like for the next 8 months:

- 5 classes (changing my major to something business related)
- walking (for 25 min.) or biking each way every weekday to school
- always scraping by with money
- likely unintentionally LOSING weight because of money situation
- getting a job + 5 classes = no free time
- getting a girlfiend + 5 classes = no free time
- Colombia, Wakahakee, Seattle, Rochester comps etc. all doubtful b/c of school
- maaaaybe 5 paying gigs throughout the year? that's actually being optimistic.
- impossible for me to weight train and shred/juggle with any significant progress
- promoting myself to school boards/sporting exhibitions/festivals etc. near impossible

It went from this early yesterday to THIS:

- staying in Hamilton
- rearranging my room, getting a desk, address book, calendar, etc. and turning it into my bedroom/office
- I will register myself as a business (maybe Gravity Man inc.?)
- starting the 'school' year with $500 (would have went towards school fees and textbooks)
- I would enroll in a night course here in Hamilton -- something to do with what I am pursuing already (business, finance or...video editing?). I am NOT completely dropping out of school -- that would be stupid.
- making a new promotional video directed towards school Phys Ed classes
- I can continue to busk in Hamilton (way more $ than in Guelph)
- designing promotional fliers and handing them out anytime I perform
- focusing the time required to have a polished website eventually (something really basic coming in the next few days!)
- dedicating all my efforts towards this next Season of Famecast. making fliers telling people to vote and delivering them all over Dundas and Hamilton. Please vote! Voting for Top 50 ends September 27th.
- travelling around delivering promotional packages to as many of the schools in the Board as possible
- hopefully make tons of money with the school demos
- signing up for all next summer's Buskerfests in plenty of time
- have time for a girlfriend
- have time for tournaments and jams!
- have time for WEIGHT training!!
- have time to progress RAPIDLY at footbag and juggling!!!
- have time to maybe STITCH footbags??!!

I will seriously be putting in 8 hour days, working probably just as hard as school (did I mention I dread University?), but it will be something I absolutely love and would do anyway like, after school.

I would no longer need to tell curious people that I'm a "Math Major hoping to be a professional performer someday." It would be full steam ahead towards my dream job.

Oh, I forgot the icing on the cake! I will be taking up Yoga and Acrobatics to prepare for the auditions for the National Circus School in Montreal in February. One of the 2 best circus schools in the World.

My life is looking up.

Do I sound excited? 8O
