worlds recap:

leave home@ 5am to airport. lame. small rickety jetplane. turbulance. land safely.

friday afternoon:
first visit to milk house. shred with zach fetusmaster and holly. lots of nice moves/strings. finish shred and go to hotel, meet penske, crowley, and others. some siiiiicccckkk shred went down by the pool from peeps like lee vansickle, dan ednie, jimpenske, and more with my personal footbag. i was stoked to have everyone falling in love with my bags, and busting soooo huge with one.

we ended up meeting mosh and peng after the shred was wrapping up, and we got a ride with seb d. and kolo to terreverde. French is so foreign to me. i skipped any and all language classes in highschool, so i had no idea what was said when they went into frenchspeak.

sometime after that i met flash and aiden. they were really nice, and i have lots of respect for them. way cool people.

im pretty sure i met caro burgoine that day too. maybe not. shes nice, and she picked up one of my footbags!

well. forget an order type post. now its a blur, so here is the coolest stuff.

met vasek. gave him a bag. hes so down to earth, and not stuck up or asshole.

sold all my bags really fast.

yoyoed with lots of cool people. mosh (new cw), agostenelliiy, and penske(to which i gave a starter yo). im glad some cool kids are starting to yo, the yoyo kids ive met were mostly douschebags, aside from locals.

i saw dave c again. he really deserves his accomplishments. some of his bags i saw were amazing. i was jealous, but not really.

and erik chan was really cool. damn his feet is fast.

and i got some new footbags!! a mosh and a p2! amaretta mosh, facile peng. kyle hewitt gave me a funk bag for my bday, and josh raye gave me one of his own! unfortanely i have misplaced two of my josh raye bags... rewards if you got em.

my routine went well. 8ish drops, and my 2nd cue was lost. but i got lots of high 5s so i dont care. didnt make it to second round. felt like a champ. shred 30 was botched, so bad i didnt even check my score.

i started hitting nukes while worlds was going on. i got new tricks!

nuke op butter (old)
flip matador (new)
nuke same mirage
nuke same illusion
nuke same egg
nuke same whirl
nuke same rev whirl
fairy ducking op butter
zoid set far butter rev swirl rake (maybe new)
blurry rev whirl rake
and almost spinning revwhirl rake

theres this guy named steve that i go to school with. i consider him my only real friend because he was the only one i could talk to about my problems. well now he has a new place... and has become flakier and flakier. yesterday he called and asked if i could help him with html for a class we are taking. i tried to call him back a few times. and i texted him this morning. well he called back with a lot of excuses. he was sleeping when i called. hes going to a friends house for a bbq today. hes gonna try cheating on the html stuff. he pretty much let me know that: a) he didnt need my help. b) he didnt really want my help even though he asked. c) im not that important.

i guess why im down is because the past two months our friendship has gotten worse. hes been doing this a lot. he even did it on my birthday. i want our friendship to work out, so i keep being there for him when he wants me there for him. but hes not there for me. i keep trying to make this friendship work but its only me trying. so guess what i need to do is just give up on the thought of me and steve being friends. if im the only one trying to make things work, then thats not much of a friendship is it? the hard part is finally understanding that... and trying my hardest not to let him walk all over me.

i really need some support.

ps. i wish worlds went on forever. or that all footbaggers could have their own city. that was such a blast!! thanks everyone for making our worlds the best memory and vacation ever. i know i left a lot out of my write-up, but it was just all so awesome that its a blur. i cant wait to see the documentary come out.

had a small solo session. probably 30 mins long. it was rid. hot. like 102 yesterday, and i played, and 103 today, and i played. no wonder i feel like shit most the time.

but both sessions were a big improvement over my general play at worlds. my string length was pretty low, but at worlds i barely had the strength to keep moving.

so anyways, the sesh was pretty goo.

clipper bs x50 warmup
100 toes warmup

lots of drills.

rip > rip > rpt
rip > ssbutt > rpt
dim>pdx. mir>rpt
plo>mag rpt

dlo, schmoe bsos

blur, pdx ill bsos

pheonix bs

datw & dd's schooled

hack to cool off, and regain my breath.

freestyle, for like 10 mins. i tried to work in dlos, and osis in more, my weakest concepts.

hack to cool off, stretch for a minute, and go in.

i want to really school up my game. i hate being so busy that stuff has to take a back burner for school/life/money's priority. i have a few choices to make, like if i want to continue selling footbag junk as a part time job. or if i should really work hard in school, so i can freelance sooner. should i keep stitching? just regular sized footbags? i guess i just need to work harder on school, and let everything else fall where it it has time.

did i ever tell you how lucky i am? shit seems to work out in my favor much more often than bad. the other day (i guess thursday) holly and i met her parents for dinner. everyone orders their regular entree, and i orderd my usual, 8oz steak, half rack of ribs, fries. steak never came.

so at the end of the meal, they come out, explain my steak never got made, and make my whole meal free (20+$) and gave us a big plate of double choc mousse pie with icecream and choc syrup drzzled over it (enough to serve 4-6 people!)

HOLY SHIT! we ate like a bite each and called it quits. it was amazing, but too choclatey for us.

so i guess i need to quit blogging and catch up on my reading for whatever classes i have hw in.

i love holly !

Thanks for being cool guys. You were fun and I hope I get to hear those accents soon enough.

One hand moshers tail? Crazy. Did you name that Peg Leg or was that rumor . You inspired me to do more handstands.

Brian you did some stuff that made me scared. 8O (Footbag related)

Was sweet to play with "y'all", hehe. Plan a road to trip to Kingston for KAT (Kickass Three)

Glad you all had fun at worlds, wish I could have been there. The bag Cody got from you is the best bag I've ever kicked with, I love it. You all have to get up here or I'm going to need to have you send me one. It would be great to shred with some other people, so if you can't make it here we can drive down some weekend.
Today is what you make it. So, like, don't screw up the recipe. ^^

hey brianp... hopefully we can make it out to knoxville sometime, we just need some better communication and planning.

worlds thoughts:
-i suck at footbag but i try to have fun
-this is why i competed... and enjoyed it.
-8th place doesnt sound so bad until someone asks "out of how many"
-i dont really understand how people can be so rude about circles. there were many times when i joined a circle, then i would actually hear them wisper "lets start another circle, this is boring." i know i cant do big tricks, but i think me doing tiltless is better than trying things out of my league and hurting myself. once i joined a circle, then someone made the rule "tiltless only" and i feel like they only did that so i wouldnt feel i sucked. i like being in circles with players of all difficulties. it just sort of hurt my feelings.
-i saw a big group of people getting ready for a picture, so i jumped in. someone told me it was a team canada picture and that i needed to get out. fuck, i didnt know. he practically yelled it too, so i was really embarrassed. not to mention my feelings were hurt about something else when that happened. so i just walked away and once i was out of view i cried. i know im not part of canada... but that was really embarrassing.
-one night brian and i just got back to the hotel around 2am from terra verde and we got to watch vasek kicking by himself barefoot. it was really cool to watch him having fun without people watching. he didnt know we were watching until we got close. he was really nice.
-davids dad was hilarious!
-i liked kicking with peng, fannie, and sunny. they were the only girls i circled with that gave me props and support. at one point i was in a big girl circle (caro, gosia, paloma, oxana, sunny, ashley, and taylor) and i hit paradox mirage out of a butterfly midstring then moshers tailed to end it off. that was the first time i paradoxed mirage out of butterfly. it was also my best string of the entire worlds event. so i hand caught it and passed it to caro... and i didnt get one prop from the girls in the circle (i heard tom yell and clap for me... i guess he was watching). i was really disappointed in the female support. it was like all these girls were in this "shredita" circle because all the boys wanted us to be. it was like none of them were having fun or glad they were in that circle.
-if emily would have been in that circle, she would have given me props. where were you, emily?
-riding in the car with seb and kolo was awesome. i dont know what they said but it was hot.
-someone asked me why i was called "pegleg". i ended up giving them a history lesson about female pirates. i loved that someone was actually interested.
-we ended up holding onto scott and justins keg for like a whole week! we dont like heinekin, so we ended up having to throw it out.
-zach jahner is so cool. i wish we lived near each other.
-edited out. poor baby :(
-its hard to join circles with advanced players because everyone has a different opinion about the skill levels within one circle. when i was in a circle with tom or brian or peng or sunny, they were giving me props on the strings i was improving. but in a circle with people who didnt know me personally, people would complain. once the boredom complaint was heard, i left immediately. suck.
-spending this vacation with brian was the best. i love you, brian! we had such a good time, even when we werent footbagging. we ate expensive crab and went to the lego store and just had a lot of good laughs. youre the best brian! it would never be this good with anyone else. i love you!!! i cant wait to spend forever with you!

(edit: sam colocloghcloclo named the one handed moshers tail "peg leg"... although, im sure vasek or jorden must have hit it. can anyone verify who invited it?)

seems the situation with steve might work out. he called and appologised for being selfish and said he needed to work some stuff out. i hope we can be friends.

It's great that you had fun at Worlds, despite all of those millions of crappy little things. That upsets me about the Team Canada picture. I wonder who it was who yelled... it doesn't make me too proud to have been part of that :?

I didn't get to play with you once! I played with Brian REALLY briefly, and I think that was it, but I think he, like, just left pretty much when I joined. I like your first two lines too -- that's awesome that you competed and enjoyed it even if you didn't do as well as everyone else.

That's great about the Steve thing too. I feel that. I, like, don't have any friends in Winnipeg, I'm discovering. It's really lonely and I miss Toronto. Good luck with that situation :)

Hey Holly,

Sorry about the team canada thing, you shouldn't feel too bad since it was an honest mistake. I don't think anyone was upset with you, you didn't know! And I even think it may have been me that 'yelled' at you to get out, I really really didn't mean it in a mean way. :cry: I'm sorry Holly.

BTW, I was really stoked and proud when I looked over to see that string you ended in moshers tail in the girl circle. So cool! Seriously, you're way better than me at them!

Also, I am still fairly sure you invented one-handed Mosher's tail! Also, pegleg is a great name for it.

You're cool holly, I am glad we're friends. :)

Brain and Holly, Thanks for helping make my worlds awesome

It was super nice to get off the plane and see some friendly familiar faces.

Also thanks for letting me crash on your floor the first night when I didnt have a place.

Getting first pick on your bags was awesome, I still feel like I got the best 2!!

I have had a few awesome sessions with the bag I got from brian, and i havent played with the holly yet. Im gonna add a tad more fill then it will be perfect.

Metting Lee was really cool too. He is a super nice guys and I love his game. He makes footbag look really cool. Amazing Style.

hey girl,

it was fun meeting you and brian at worlds, I'm glad you guys came over and partied with us.

about people leaving your circle, don't take it too hard. The same thing happens to everyone. hell, I cleaned out a room. There was a hot circle going on behind the curtain on day 2 of competition with dave clavens. he stepped out, and I stepped in, barefoot with a bloody toe. I wasn't doing so hot. within 2 minutes, everyone left the room. within 4 minutes, the only people in the room were me, takumi, and jim penske (which, honestly, was pretty cool). So, don't feel singled out or anything like that. Lots of people want to play with folks of their level, and if the people in the circle aren't of their level, it can feel like the energy or flow of the circle is slowing down, or not the same. That's just how it goes.

Now, personally, I've almost always had a player nearby that's getting their tiltless on, and I love to see people playing at their personal best, no matter what that is. So, if I saw you do a good string with a 3 > 3 link that you'd just acheived, and ended with a signature move, you sure would have got big props from me.

once again, nice to meet you and brian. thanks for coming around and celebrating great fun with us :)

You're right, I would have given you props. :-) I was injured and doing the timing for Open Doubles, I think. Even though my knee hurt I came over as soon as the comp was over so I could kick with the millions of girls on the other side of the gym. And as soon as I got there all of the girls disappeared because the comp. was over. I'm sorry we didn't get to kick a bunch at this event, but there's always NYJ in Chicago.

I find womens circles pretty supportive, and when I came off stage from doing a routine I felt like I got a lot of props from the girls. We like to support each other.

I think you were in a weird situation in that there were a ton of people in one circle (before it broke off into two circles) so it was hard to keep from being distracted, hard to stay warm, and probably hard to keep track of what would be a good move/combo for 1/8 players you're not used to playing with. You know? I'm sorry you had a bad experience with an all girl circle. Be open minded about them in the future, I've found them the most supportive and comfortable circles to be in. Also, you know someone isn't just giving you props for hitting ______ because you're a girl who hit it, which feels insulting more than anything else.

josh if you left modified because you hated it, then why are you still getting on it. i deleted what you didnt want people to know, so stop channeling through your brother to contact me.

thanks for all the support, people! dont get the idea that that one girl circle made my worlds bad, because it didnt. worlds was the best time ive ever had in my life... seriously. like singing sublime with matt cross (need a backup, matt?) and playing on boogie boards in tom and pengs pool. and playing doubles four square on sebastian's team. meeting jim penske. seeing hentron again. french canadians. rory bringing us suprises! learning how to juggle with two people. mac and cheese, funfettii birthday cake, and a pie and icecream after that. the list goes on forever.

and tom, it wasnt you that yelled. i know the person who did yell wouldnt have done it if he knew it would hurt my feelings. its no big deal, i was just being a big fat sissy.

last friday, today, and next friday im doing highway litter pickup. last week was brutal because it got over 102 degrees. i have to be there at 6 and work till 1. today was fun, but my body is feeling it. blisters on both my pinky toes and my knee has been having trouble lately. i plan on sleeping until about 7 tonight, though.

some -different- ad ideas that came up in class for my graphic design 2.

"no objection to injection"
"keep your rosaries off my ovaries"

the assignment was to pick a topic we felt strongly about, then make an ad for the oposite of how we feel.

mine is pro-smoking
:/

"what is more important:
the war on tobacco,
or your child's education".

ill post it when its done.

yesterday was pretty sweet.

we slept in. like 1130 or so we got up, and hollys twin bro was here. shortly after, it was a bbq rib lunch. NICE! we eventually went and played footbag!

i had a pretty good session...

holly and i practiced doubles stuff... we're not good, but its fun.
some squares too i think.

some warmup drills, bop, etc
tripwalk bs midstring
ripwalk>swirl>rpt
ripwalk>rev swirl, bs...
pheonix
bedwetter bs (two sick 3s)

and then we were pretty tired. i wasnt really done, because i played like crap fora few mintues. it was time to go.

then i started trying alpine fear. missed it/ footed for 15 or so tries.

last try.

got it backside.

~~~~~~
after the sesh, i made this
Image
its a bootleg cuddlebag (that some john bagi threw at me for confetti at my birthday buying beer for the first time thing. they said tomorrow. no beer.)
its super. i made it like 120 grams on accident in the car. fixed it this morning
its alot like my other 4p i make. guess i should get a real kfm one someday.
we got panera sandwich and pizza (shit. leftovers in the car...)
and ended up going to an art show opening. it was like 7 little galleries, in one place. there was some cool art. there was some bad art. a little graphic design, but it wasnt spectacular. there were also some ink on vellum drawings of girls masturbating, peeing, and just prancing or grabbing their genetils. it was pretty neat. :)
then we went to jamie and randys and chilled. simpsons. weeds(the show :lol: )
on the way home we hit a sobriety check point. stupid labor day weekend crap. click it or ticket. booze it and lose it. i started cracking jokes after wards something about leet acronyms or something. im lame. we win again! [highfive]
made it home around 1215, and went to bed. we've sorta been trying to go to bed earlier, since we normally have to get up really early on certain school days. hasnt really made classes any easier.
guess thats it. we went to sleep. twas a good sleep.
Holly is the best!
