Upon rereading it kinda seems like maybe I just flipped out like a wad over nothing.

It kinda sounds like Josh was taking that leadery role.. but there's still that hint of defeatism in the air. like.. instead of the stubborn hard headed determined "MUST MAKE IT TO ANY EVENT" attitude that basically all other shred scenes have you guys seem like "humm dee dumm, who wants to play on wednesday? Oakville is really far away and three weeks of time to prepare isn't enough. Let's twiddle our thumbs in Toronto!"

Ughghg shut up tom!!!!!!!!!!!!! Half of me wants to punch me in the face.

I guess I am just frustrated and I should just let this go because it's not actually anything.

I really like you guys. Don't hate me for wanting you guys to get out to more events based around your greatest passion in life.

PS I will come shred tomorrow. Kensington? When?

Actually, Red was the first to hit a quad dex. Sunil hit something like 18 quads before anybody else had hit 2 (maybe 3). Sunil was indeed the first to hit, and the first to master nemesis. And yes, Mike makes awesome shirts.

Tom,

I both agree with you and don't.

We have to make it out to more events. We absolutely do.

The sad fact is that most FAT members have jobs, school, families, travel, and other commitments to deal with.

It may be not for the same reasons, but my weekends are very very rarely free. I work every single weekend, and my schedule is posted at least 3 weeks in advance. To have 1 weekend day off is awesome, to have all 3 would be the corn of fucking plenty. So while I'd love to do this camping trip, a day of picnic shred probably is much more realistic.

I admit it, but I'm in love with footbag. However, it is NOT my "number 1 passion" in life and probably won't be soon because my lady, dwelling, school, and other family just comes first. I won't apologize for that.

I don't hesitate to call you more hard core than us. You are. You do great things and are a rock in footbag. I look up to you, Tom, but of seven days a week, I might get one or two for REAL footbag. I'm sorry that they might not be enough.

I'd really like to be at the shred tomorrow (seems like Jon does too), so where and when are we meeting?

Hack! We could at least check out the buskerfest, it was pretty cool last year or whenever we went.

ugh Tom. Half of me wants to punch you in the face too.

Josh said it right, footbag isn't our whole life. We all have a lot going on and footbag can't be a part of all of it. Even Mike admitted at the last session that he isn't playing every day like he used to, and I said, "that's cuz you have a girlfriend now." And he FULLY agreed. Cuz it's true. AND I said, "THAT'S A GOOD THING!" IT IS! We are all extremely balanced people, if anything, and we aren't sorry that footbag isn't the biggest thing in our lives. It's big, just not the biggest. You can live your life whatever the fuck way you want, but how dare you come and practically attack us because we are not like you. "Defeatist attitude"?? You totally have a dictator's attitude! What the hell?

Another point I'd like to make is that Toronto is huge. For me to get to any "LOCAL" session, I have to travel at least an hour there and an hour back. No one EVER wants to come to Scarborough to play. And with the exception of Mike, that's how it is for everyone. Everyone lives in the GTA so it's hard to find time to travel 2+ hours and then shred for 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever. That's why regular sessions tend to have like 2 people at them. Not everyone can schedule themselves for footbag at the same time. At least when we get together we tend to play long hours.

AND yet another point, we don't all have the cash to make it to that many tournies. Even if we work, a lot of us have school still and other commitments that cost a lot. We don't have our parents handing out or lending out cash, we don't get easy breaks here. Honest to god, the only problem for me not going anywhere is money. Are you about to bitch me out for that too?

Oh, and I guess you must not have noticed or something, but Mike has taken a HUGE alpha role, and he isn't even initially from Toronto. He just came, and had the means, and did the work. And we are all SO SUPER GRATEFUL for him!

Sorry, I'll stop giving a shit. :(

I guess what gets me most is I see you all having so much potential, I see Toronto with so much potential too.

I understand better now, sorry if my posts came across as attacks. We're friends remember?

Btw, it really really meant alot to me that so many of you came to KICKASS2.

So what the shit, when is shred today?

We are playing at 3 p.m. at Buskerfest. If anyone would like to meet and play earlier, like even 1 or 1:30, call me, we could go to Kensington for a bit or something.

Buskerfest is on Front St. between Church and Jarvis. If you are coming from Union Station, just walk east on Front and you'll hit it. Maybe we should just meet at the corner of Front & Church and once we've rounded up a few, head in and find a good spot to play that they won't kick us out from.

Last time we played in the alley beside the Dominion, it wasn't too bad and they didn't bug us there. Not sure if we will do that again, but it's possible.

If anyone needs to find us if they show up late or something, call my cell: 416-602-1985.

See you guys there. :)

Tom, your "giving a shit" is actually rather insulting and makes it seem like you are just angry and that you look down on us or something. It's completely condescending. "twiddle our thumbs in Toronto" ??? Dude, come on. You sure as fuck didn't make me feel, "Aw, Tom wants to play with us and he misses us." Instead you made me feel like "Wow, Tom is criticizing us and thinks we're losers and he and every other footbag scene is better than us. Well gee golly, I really want to play with him now!"

I'm not looking down on anyone. I am just wanting the best for you guys.

And after expressing that you all made it very clear that what I view as the best isn't what you guys want.

So none of this matters and lets shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the record, Camille and I talked a bunch on MSN and I think we made alot of progress.

Certainly I will put more effort into better anticipating how people will react to my actions.

I should be careful to make sure I don't come across in a negative or condescending way, especially when that isn't my intent.

I will see you all at 3, you can then punch me and we'll have a group hug. :)

Hey sorry we didn't get to play much (totally your fault for showing up late  ). Way to improve since last time!

Can anyone play tuesday morning?

Anyone going to Hackrifice? I requested time off from work today. Gonna try and make it! It may end up being alot of money to fly there, but my aunt is a travel agent and I'll see what she can dig up for us if anyone else wants to come!

Shit looks like I missed a lot. Fucking August. Swear to god when school starts I'll make it out more.

Alas, this weekend I will be camping. BUT...LETS PLAY LABOUR DAY!! YAY! Don't tell me you have work - I'll cry. Make a better excuse.

Mike - Tuesday morning is today - Call me if you think you wanna get something going - I don't wanna call you and risk a wake up.

Camping - Like a camping trip with canoes? Oooh sounds swell. I actually might be able to make it depending on how much school I miss and if a Toronto Jam/Kickass happens...

Hackrifice? I wish. I'm broke and my parents sure as hell not going to pay for me to fly to Winnipeg...for "Footbag with Erik Chan" ...I swear its the best reason ever!

Yay footbag!
