I think Jan started this thread because he is (rightfully) proud of how far European footbag has come. I think all of us should be (and are) happy about this too. He just chose a poor word in the thread title ("domination") which made the tone come off completely wrong. Did Europeans "dominate" worlds this year? Objectively, no, no they didn't. Did they do well in some disciplines? Yes. Should we all be happy about this? Also yes. So instead of creating a thread which celebrates the progress of European footbag, it came off instead as "europe is better (dominates) the rest of the world," which is not only a silly idea but also quite arrogant. You don't see Oceania creating threads about how they are better than Europe, even though 100% of Oceanian competitors made it to Routine and Shred30 finals.
Nobody is debating that there were fewer europeans at the tourney because it was in the US. But the exact same can be said for last year's Worlds, as well as 03 and 05 to an extent.
I think the lesson to be learned here is that we should be careful how we phrase our ideas. We are all happy that the Euro scene is strong and thriving, and I think its great to celebrate that in a thread. Let's just do it in a positive and constructive manner.
