BEST. FUCKEN. SESSION. EVER.

Played for 2.hours, drilled the regs and then fucked around. Got 8 infinities (most contacts, many others landed), 20 contacts of pu>mirage>rpt, 8 ocntacts lo>illusion>rpt, 20lo>lo, 20pu>pu, 30 inside>inside, 10 ssclipper bs, 9 contacts butter>osis>ssmirage>rpt, 6 osii b2b, 4 butter>duck butter bs, 3 clipper>duck clip weak, 4 strong, 10 ssmirage>b2b bs, 5 ssillusion b2b strong, 4 weak, super fucken close to eggbeater and dlo, but alas, neither were hit.

But here is the shit! The reason why today was my best day in footbag history. I HIT 4 NEW MOVES!!!

FUCK YEAH!

DATW, twice, out to in, strong! WHOO!
Swirl, strong side, about 10 times, never b2b
Whirl , strong side, 4 b2b, about 15 - 20 landed!!
Now get this, stepping! Not to anything else, but good, clean stepping! FUCK YEAH!!! Hit it about 20 times! At least 8 or so came right up near my chest when I was hunched, straight up!

I am so fucken happy. ALl these repetitious hours are finally getting me somewhere!

I was using my new amaretta eskimo bag, it now has about 5 hours of use on gravel, and it is as soft as baby skin. It feels alive. When I stop to get the dirt off and kind of "jerk it clean", I can't help but stop and look at it and enjoy it.

Here it is beside a, guess what, a golf ball, after I dropped the bag from about 20-25 cm.

Wow. I love it so much. I stare at it when it is just sitting there. I am not even sad about thinking about the end of it's career b/c I wil make myself another one!

It has no holes and it has taken quite a few high trips up from trying to re-gain control from wonky kicks in warm up. I think that with proper care, this bag will last quite a while.

I got a new order today. I already have 4 bags cut out and ready to rock. 1 amaretta mini for Peng, 1 facile mini for me, with a design and colour variation I have yet to see, another amaretta mini for Kolo and the trade bag for the Macho Man Travis Savage. He picked these insane colours that I can't wait to see once it is done. Rapture rose, splash blue and marmalade. These colours make me smile when they are sitting next to each other. All of the four bags cut out will have wonderful design and colouration. I can't wait. ALso the request I got today will have active green and atlantis hexes with flash red pents! It will be an eye cather. THEY ALL WILL! Awwww man, I am so much more in love with footbag today....... I love you footbag, I love you my footbag.

I would like to send two big thank you's to both Kolo and the Foot Fighter Team and also PengPeng Du.

Kolo, thank you and the Foot Fighter Team for hooking me up with some amaretta for my B-day. Man, I asked if they could hook me up with enough for just 1 bag and they sent me 15cmX25 cm of bright red, 10X20cm of near white and about teh same amount of a dark tan yellow. I was blown away.

Also Little Miss Du for sending me enough for nearly three - 4 bags. Thank you soo much.

You both will receive new amaretta bags from me and a great big high 5 the next time I see either of you.

What a radical post!
I love feeling in love with footbag.
I really liked this line:

I am so excited to be able to do this!

Props on those new moves! And stepping! I know the feeling -- stepping is so exciting. It opens so many doors. You could even try, like, stepping toe stalls or something, to start. That's what we made our new kid do.

I made a mistake in my post there yesterday, the DATW's were in to out.

Hey Nathan I did receive the material, and thank you as well. Sorry that I forgot to mention it. It came in really quick and there was more than I had anticipated.

Thanks for the posts you masters of Foot-fu. It is nice to know that jedi-like people are reading a dirtly Eskimo's footblog!

Haven't shredded much since my best day ever.

But I had about an hour to an hour and a half session on Saturday.

Drilled all the regs. Getting worse at butter>osis>ssmirage. Will drill that harder tonight.

Hit a bunch of stepping to drops! Also hit this, and it felt fuckin grade A: pickup>ss datw. Fuck it looks fast. Hitting whirls, swirls. Tried but did not yet hit butter>osis>whirl, hit butter>whirl, and a few other things that were fun but nothing ground breaking yet.

Sooon wil try to step from osis. But my steps are strong only, the ss clips and butters will help with that.

I am going to hit a clean drifter and a DLO today. Then drill the shit out of ssclips and butters on my flip.

Gonna drill and play some more today.

Finished off a bag for a hacker pretty quick and also finished my mini. I love it.

Later all, I hope everyone at Worlds is having th etime of thier lives.

Lucky, lucky lucky.

So another 1.5 hr session last night.

Same drills, basic 2 adds X10 or 20. Butter>osis>mirage>rpt 10 contacts, 12 contacts of butter>ssmirage>lo, hit this and it made me smile: butter>osis>stepping!

I am getting pretty good at stepping on my strong side but have not hit it with my flip. I am feeling like I need to drill flip clippers X100 and ssbutterX20. Also, my lo's are getting sloppy. My pu are super clean. I must go back and drill these tonight.

Still did not hit DLO, but have been able to get swirl, stepping to nil, datw (in-out, strong only), and whirl.

I also seem to have lost my flip symple legover. Had a nice string of about 20-25 contacts with butters, osis, whirl, pu, lo, mirage, illusion. Hit butter>odx mirage>opp butter>pdx mirage>rpt quite a few times. lo>llusion 8 contacts, 12 contacts of pu>mirage, 10 ss mirage bs, 7ss illusion strong, 5 flip.

Tonights session:
30 lo>lo
symple lo's
100 flip clip
20 ss butter flip

Then I can drill the rest.

I can't wait to be good at this.

2 sessions over the weekend. Lots of fun.

1.5 hrs Friday with my friend Scottie, and a nice 3+hr solo on Saturday.

New accomplishmesnts: 16 contacts of butter>osis>ssmirage>rpt, 20 contacts of butter>ssmirage>lo>rpt, 20 contacts bs butter>ssmirage>rpt, 10 contacts of lo>illusion>rpt. Got my lo's solid again.

Need to work on swirls and whirls again though.

Hit a clean drifter! 3 times! Also hit toe drifter a few times and finally, FINALLY hit DLO!! But drifter and DLO were strong side only. Almost hit ripwalk in pants, but not in shorts. Getting really close to stepping pickup.

Getting way better at DATW in-out strong. No other DATW hit yet.

Finished off a bag and almost another.

Will drill opp clip like crazy again tonight along with flip drifter, dlo and whirl.

It felt so great to finally nail DLO and get some clean drifters. Wow, I love this sport.

1.5 hr session yesterday.

Not that great, felt really sore and tired.

Did all my regular drills, no new records. Hit the new moves like DATW, Swirl, Whirl and drifter. I also tried a symposium mirage for the first time in a long long time, and I got it second try. Then after about 5 tries got it flip side.

Other than that no new highlights.

2 hr session last night.

Drilled all the basics and tried some symple mirages, got quite a few strong and only a couple flip.

Butter>Osis>Pdx Mirage>rpt>butter>butter>pu>drop
Butter>osis>ssmirage>rpt 14 contacts
Butter>ssmirage bs 15 contacts
8 osis b2b
15 lo>lo
15 pu>pu
8 clip > op clip
13 infinity
10 lo>mirage
10pu>illusion

Hit a few whirls, swirls and a few drifters. Didn't even try DLO.

I really need to drill my flip clipper so that I can eventually hit whirls adn swirls and stepping on that side.

I also practiced alot of pixies and am getting there. But again, strong side only. I also screwed around with strong fairies and got a few of those, I think.

Anywho, I will play again tonight but I need to remember to stretch before hand and after. I also will drill the shit out of flip clip and clip>opp clip and then teh tri-force drill.

Had a short 1.25 hr session last night.

It gets dark here now  I was out playing from 8:30pm until 9:45.

Nothing new.

Clip >op clip X8
Clip>ss mirage>rptX10 bs
butter>ss mirag flip X 15
20 lo>lo
20 pu>pu
10 contacts of both pu>mirage>rpt and lo>illusion
12 contacts butter>osis>ssmirage
15 contacts butter>ssmirage>lo

Feeling better with my flip clip. I really love the drill clip>ssmirage. I also got 10 contacts of clip>far lo>illusion>rpt flip.

Did not attempt any DATW, swirl, whirl or drifters. I will wait until I get my flip clip and butter way more comfortable. I can hit around 20 ss clip on flip but still feel like a retard when I attempt whirls and swirls. So when those moves and stepping are easy on my flip, I will drill more of these and other new components. But it gets boring quickly always doing the same stuff.

Although, I have hit a bunch of new moves recently and will try to keep that feeling of achievement in my head to keep drilling the same old boring stuff.

I also played around with pixie, fairy and stepping. I need to get quicker on my strong side and can't even get close to any of these on my flip.

I noticed though that my strong side stance if more sideways and my flip is more straight forward. I think they may be a source of my my problems. I think it is called bigfoot?

Will play again tonight and will finish off Cassy's bag over teh weekend, and get started on the trade and gift bags I cut out so long ago.

Had a nice 1.5 hr session on Monday with my new QM02's and they are the shit. It seems like clippers are way easier with them! Also, the toe box is massive! I love it.

So did all the regular drills and repeats.

20 lo>lo
20 pu>pu
10 contacts pu>mirage>rpt
8 contacts lo>illusion>rpt
20 inside>inside
20 toe>toe
10 ATW BS (ATW in, then ATW out >rpt, get to 10, switch feet)
10 mirage b2b bs
10 illusion bs (7 consec strong, 6 consec weak)
10 contacts butter>osis>ssmirage
10 contacts bs butter>ss mirage, clip ssmirage
7 osis b2b
a few DATWs, drifters, swirls and whirls

I also got like 30 ss clipper strong and about 15 weak in a row

After the 30 clip strong, I stepped out and almost hit ripwalk!

But get this, I hit it! I hit my fucken dream move! Twice in a row! BWA HA HA HA HA!!!

I hit ripwalk about 6 times and almost got stepping pu!

I love my new shoes! I wonder if it is just coincidence that I hit my all time dream move the first day I tried out my shoes specifically designed for footbag?

Oh well!

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Props man! Rip those walks!

Have you thought about coming to NYJ? Chicago in December will probably feel pretty great compared to your weather.

props!

i doubt it was the shoes, but maybe your new motivation from the new shoes. either way, i like my quantums as well.

now work that set!

-schmoe
-blur
-sidewalk
-stepping same/op clip

those are probably the easier stepping tricks. consider it a challenge!

keep it up!

Thanks for the comments Frank and Brian! I appreciate it! I will take those challenges Brian!

Unfortunately Frank, I do not think I will be able to make it to NYJ. Unless something crazy happens and I end up in Ottawa or Montreal for X-Mas. Then I will make it for sure.

I played about 1.5 hrs again last night and did all the regular drills plus really worked my strong drifter. This move feels so fucken cool. Got three in a row and almost one midstring. I like how my brain goes for that move and ripwalk midstring all by it self.

I hit some swirls, whirls, drifters, DATW's and a bunch of strings.

I can NOT whirl or swirl or even come close to a drifter or stepping on my flip side. I feel like Im-ma-ma-charted.

I need to really drill this side and any challenges or suggestions are welcome. I did a ton of weak clipper consecs, clipper>ssmirage, butter>ssmirage and tons of clip>opp clip (10 in a row my current high).
But my leg and hip are still retarded.

PLEASE HELP! I want to be able to hit ripwalk>ripwalk! Also, it is easier for me to hit this move out of butter.

I noticed that my stance is sideways strong (my right foot forward) and that I square off when using my flip. I tried to start a few times with my left foot out and pretend that that is my strong side and it helped with visual on atw's but is not helping with whirls and stuff. I know where I need the set to go from clipper and it gets there, it is just my hip and my body will not let me do the rest.

Anywho, I am making a super mini. I used the same template from my mini for an amaretta bag, and it is going to be tiny! But I think I will like it.

I am getting my ticket confirmed for Winnipeg today! HORRAY! I can't wait! I will bring down some caribou and maybe some fish for people to try out. It is tasty stuff. But they will have to try a piece frozen and raw to see how us Eskimo's roll.

I am aiming to bring a bag for the tourney, a bag for my host, and a few for sale. But work will keep me pretty busy and shredding has been really my main focus as of late, footbag wise. BUt I will have at least one for whom ever houses me and one for the tourny organizers to do with as they see fit. Either a raffle or for winning a section of the tourney.

Anywho, I am at work, and I seem to spend more time thinking about footbag than I do about work. It is like I am a professional footbagger, but work doesn't know!

Regards and thanks for the comments guys! It is awesome getting encouraging words and stuff!

Yeah! So cool!
I will help you with flipside moves when you come.
For flip stepping, particularly, you want to make sure that you are leaning over your clipper, like, looking straight down on it. Also turn your shoulders into the bag on that side. This should help for most flip clipper moves. Let me know how that goes, and I can try to give more tips. Also check the trick tips forum. Ripwalk > ripwalk is, like, THE MOST satisfying combo, ever!
