Album Base

Post by Langstaff »

I just wanna fill anyone who doesn't know about this website in..

www.albumbase.com

It's a site containing links to .zip and .rar albums. Your computer may not be able to extract .rar files, but you can use a program like WinAce which is free to download.

Tonnes of albums for free, just sign up (quick+easy), search your artist and download full albums :) Should be useful for getting sweet music for footbag videos! It's also great for exploring new artists. Ciao.

Nah you just have to register.. Without an account it just tells you to buy it on I-tunes or whatnot, but when you're logged in that's replaced with a link to the download.

Says they need my cell number.....

Are you sure this is 'free'? No bullshit terms and charges if I give them my number.....

I'm not too keen on giving that shit out on the internet

i registered for AB like 2 years ago and i don't remember being asked for any of that shit. albumbase is the awesome; i've been able to find almost anything on it for some time now. every once and a while you get some shit that's a little fucked up, but that's just how free stuff is. Also, if you register for the forum it can be suuuper handy in finding mega-expensive applications for totally free. word!

Yeah I just made my account on there a couple weeks ago, I definitely didn't have to give any phone numbers... or maybe I just left that blank.. Don't remember. I certainly never gave my cell phone number to the site though.

Hmm, no joke :?

You guys have good reason to be cautious, but unless things have changed in the past few weeks, the registration has no strings attatched..
Unless they charge everybody who uses the site(internationally) with downloading music illegally, I doubt there are any worries about the law.
I'm just making it known to modified, it's up to you all to use it if you'd like.

Wow. That was weird. I'm not being cautious at all. I was asking if it was a joke, because everytime I clicked on the link yesterday, I got sent to some porn site with nothing to do with music at all. Today the link is working fine...weird.

I just checked out the registration form, it asks you for a cell number for a premium account, I would have just left that blank.. You don't need a premium account to download tunes, in fact I don't know what that's about at all... Just leave that blank (I'll make another account right quick to see if it still works). That's fucked up about random porn lol... I have absolutely no explanation for that one.

Yeah, I just made another account in a matter of like 15 seconds. Just leave the cell phone thing blank. They haven't even sent me a confirmation email or anything.

Yeah, good for underground hip-hop mix tapes and shit like "The Grey Album" with Jay-Z and The Beattles or Dangermouse's remix of God's Son, "God's Stepson". Also many Lil Wayne mixtapes downloaded in the last few days, an the "Harder They Come" soundtrack which I hadn't heard since I was like 13, which is a fucking awesome album for anyone who even appreciates reggae. DJ Khaled, Ratatat, Kottonmouth Kings, Daft Punk, Andre Nickatina! Galore!

They asked for my cell phone number. I don't remember if I gave them it or gave a phake.

Question: In WinAce, how do I find my archive of uploaded music. What I usually do is take the files from the WinAce screen that comes up when the album download finishes, and then carry it into a folder on my desktop. Where do I go to retrieve the tracks and find the albums on WinAce though?

I myself am not very familiar with WinAce... In fact, I use it exclusively for extracting .rar files. When I download albums I only open them with the program rather than saving the .rar on my computer, then just extract mp3s directly to my music folder. So in my case, I don't think WinAce has any record of what I've extracted with it (besides the recent history in File). I'm sorry, I know that answered nothing, I'm just really not sure.
