How to Stitch... looking for tutorials, materials etc.

Once Peng renews their domain, you should check out Tom's tutourial on www.kingstonfootbag.com (it's down at the moment) -- that was super duper helpful for me!
You can also wait for that page to load and look at some of those threads. I asked a ton of questions before I started, and the answers that people posted could be really helpful.

My plan is to become involved with those interested in starting there own stitching and want to help any and all personally. If anyone has a question or needs help getting started from the ground up hit this post up. Ill answer as questions as possible.
Any experienced stitchers are welcome to chime in too!

Bleedholes = two edges of hexes, touching, that are not stitched together, and so can be used to leech or fill filler through.
Gather = tightening of the thread that perimetres a pent. The higher the gather, the tighter the thread is pulled around the pent's edges, and the poofier the pent (and consequently the hexes around it) will become.
Pilling = the occurance of "A bobble of fiber that develops with use or wear on a textile article" (from Wikipedia -- I thought they may have explained why this happens...)

2, Good thread (polyester upholstry is good joann fabrics)
3, Facile/Ultrasuede light material (www.fieldsfabric.com)
4, Small ruler or quilt square (joann fabrics)
5, The best scissors you can afford (I use Gingher joann fabrics)
6, A bic lighter (speedway)
7, Filler of your choice (BB's at Dunhams work good for weight)
8, Finest tip Sharpie possible (to draw out panels joann fabrics)
9, Your choice but maybe a nice organizer to keep all this in
10, A foot bag pattern (www.footbag.org or the pattern generator here)
11, A printer and card stock for printing the patterns
12, A food scale from Bed Bath and Beyond if you want to weigh it

A bag I made last week...
I suggest knotting and then just melting after the knot for double protection, because I've found that the melting pops a lot easier than not... Also, watch the melting, because if it kind of flops down below the knot and sticks to the thread below, the thread will weaken and be more prone to popping 
Blind Stitch
1, Fold bag right side out
2, Cut your self extra thread cause you will stitch Loooooose..
3, Start at the corner of a hex and work your way around following my diagram above (red dashes are the hidden parts of the stitch). This is an ariel view, in other words, the tops of the panels RIGHT SIDE OUT.
4, At the end pull to desired gather and tie off. Yay your finished.
Just make sure you follow the direction the thread is going in EXACTALY as pictured.
AND If you are using more stitches than above just make sure there are two more stitches on your hex per side than your pent per side for this to work correctly..

Hi, I am just starting out stitching and was gonna begin with some 12 and 14 panel bags before trying a 32. I was just wondering about the sequence of assembly of the panels for different bags. Is it usually a flower shape as above in the blind stich pic ? Are there any tips or tricks so I dont stitch into a deadend and end up tying off alot ? Links to any other relevant threads (lol) appreciated.

I've been having trouble with my gather looking good. Do you have any tips? Also, even though I'm using the same object for the gather of every pent, my pents vary in size, sometimes noticeably so.
Here are some pictures that kind of show what I'm doing.
Here's one of my bags:
(It's 6-stitches per side, but in this picture it looks like 4.... why??)
And this is an Eskimo Joe:
Why does mine look crappy?? My stitching was spaced well and pretty consistent. I don't understand, and it's frustrating Oh, plus here is another bag that I made, before the other one even, but it looks better, and I don't know why because I did everything exactly the same...
