I haven't played any footbag since Worlds. I want to so bad, but my classes started last week, and I have been so bogged down from them already. Blah. I'm sure I will find a way to play sometime this week. I want to incorporate everything I learned at Worlds. And watching a bunch of videos is only making me more anxious! If I ever find some way of playing a few times every week, I want to start a challenge thread to help build a more solid foundation and hit bigger tricks.

I still want to make a video out of my Worlds footage. Is it okay that I post a video of people, but I never asked any permission to film them? I dunno how all of that stuff works, since it was my first time filming. If not, I will still make a video for my own enjoyment.

I have pictures to develop, too. Mom took a bunch of Kayleigh. She says they should be cute. :D I wish I remembered to take pictures of people I met. Oh well.

Ok. So obviously my plan to play 2 times week has failed. A lot of my plans to do things have failed. I'm thinking about trying to wake up in the mornings to play again, now that I don't have a noisy sister waking Kayleigh up.

Also, I have been feeling so bad that I don't spend enough time with Kayleigh since I have been so busy with school after I get home from work. These past two weeks have been: come home from work...eat...do school work...get Kayleigh in bed...do school work...go to bed. No spend time with Kayleigh in there. I am going to try taking her outside to play or play inside with her for a half an hour everyday after work instead of going straight to the computer for school work.

I am beginning to learn that online school takes just as much time and effort as going to a normal school. I just don't have to worry about getting to the school and going to classes at specific times. Or maybe it is Kayleigh becoming even more demanding. I dunno. :?

hey chrissy it was great to see you again. sorry about the mix up before the h.o.f. party, i was worried that if everyone left & i was the last one there i'd never be able to find a ride. yeah i def. agree with what you said about tournaments getting better the more people you interact with.

when i went to worlds in '04, i only knew 4 people there & i was miserable. now that i've been playing for a few years and going to tournaments i bet i know a couple dozen people and i made all the difference in the world. i had a couple mishaps this year, for example getting wasted, losing my camera, and not remembering what the hell i did that night. i wanted to celebrate winning the gold but not like that. despite that it was a fantastic week. however the most important lesson i learned is to bring a car to worlds!

p.s. ben b. found my camera a couple days later & mailed it back to me.

It was good seeing you again, too, Elliott. I've missed kicking with you and Emily and the others. I'm still going to try coming to kick with you guys someday. I know Kayleigh's daddy wants her to come down for Thanksgiving, so everyone can see her again. If that does happen, maybe I can leave her with them one day and come play with you. Maybe a Chattanooga shred? I miss that place.

I was the same at Worlds '04, not knowing just about anyone, but I wasn't miserable about it except for my mom and stepdad causing problems. But it's all good. I actually had loads of fun for the few days that I was there and didn't interact much.

Wee! I'm all moist from my first footbag session since Worlds (Pretty sad, huh?). I was going to play right after work, after eating my sandwich, but I figured it was too hot to take Kayleigh outside at 4 PM, and I would be too full to move. So I did some homework for a couple hours. Mom took Kayleigh over my godmother's house to play. My session started out horrible. I was trying to make records, hitting basic tricks back to back. I wasn't doing crap. So then I decided to just shred. I hit a nice string first try. Then another. Then another. I was just fooling around, then trying record stuff, then fooling around. It was fun. I should get a cool video up of my highlights. I'm trying for tonight. We'll see.

Oh! I was trying swirl, ducking clipper, swirl, which I never hit, and then I decided to try ducking butterfly/ infinity (which one is it?). I think I've hit it before I had Kayleigh, but this is the first time I hit a ducking trick besides clipper in a while. Both sides! Too bad the camera tape ended, and I didn't know it... :?

I'm waiting for that video. :o That session sounded really fun, I'm glad you got to play and you tried new (/really old) stuff.

At Emily:
 Sorry. I was probably asleep before you even got on. My capture took until like 11:30 to finish. I was tired by the time it got done. I might recapture, because it looked like crap. I really want to figure out why my videos are choppy.

Sorry I took so long. I got busy with a migraine headache on the side. Here's my video. It's really only like 3 minutes long, but I finished the song and put in my spinning and datw attempts to accompany the rest of the music. I never did hit datw that day. Blah. :P

Hey, your videos are getting visibly progressively better, both on the shred side and the filming/editing. Your whirls looked really good (but I'm no expert, I'm jealous of anyone who can actually hit them). A couple tips; try to get your legovers more downtime, you shouldn't have to hop so much. Also, try spinning from clipper instead of toe, it's much easier ;) Leave the toe spinning to crazy people like Rory (at least until you get the hang of clipper spinning).

Also you can totally hit DATW, you are so close. Try practicing dexercising with a cone or a bottle and I'm sure you'll get them really solid.

Ha...I was gonna say Ben and then Ben, but that wouldn't work. Silly me.

Iron Clad
Thanks for the tips. I've noticed for a while that I need to fix my legovers, mirages and other basic stuff, too! I've been working at it, but my attention span lasts like 5 tries. I'll work on the spinning from clippers more. I was really just fooling around. I don't think I've ever hit any spinning tricks, yet. As for datws, I have hit those before...both sides, I just lost them after my little/long break. You shocked me by saying that my editing skills got better. I mean, I knew my video was alright, but I only threw it together in the little bit of spare time I had. Thanks, though. :)

I think I see where you are going with this...yeah. It sucks, but it won't stop me from playing. I'm gonna make a sign on my next video telling her to play footbag!!! Hehe.

I played footbag today! Kayleigh was out with me. It was just a fun session, because everytime I got serious, she would come up and interfere. I just worked on little things and fooled around. I hit strongside datw and footed flipside. I hit diving clippers each side for the very first time. Scott Behmer taught me those at Worlds. Haha...my flipside diving was funny; I kept ducking by accident. I think I footed spinning from clippers, too.

I still need to work on my legovers. My attention span is less than 5 tries, and I'm already doing something else. I really want to get the hop out of them. I also want to even out my toe and clipper strings. I do a lot more clipper strings than toe.

Sam C. told me to work on around the worlds, inside stalls, and clippers. I hit a bunch of toe stall>inside stall bsos strings, alternating feet whenever I felt like it. Then I hit inside stalls to clipper stalls. I worked on my atw's with my datw's.

I played with Kayleigh a lot, and I got footage of her trying to play footbag and trying to juggle! It's so cute. I won't give a video deadline.

Dear Footbag,

I miss you. I hope to see you soon.

Love,

Chrissy

Haha. I'm a dork. I've been so busy and junk...as always...a little more, actually. I have been reading and writing my butt off in school, and then I've been working more hours, because people left, and I gotta fill-in some. I hope my next two classes don't require as much reading and writing. They start in like 3.5 weeks.

I wish I could find some consistency and stick with it! Everytime I find it, something happens and screws it up! Geesh!

Cool.
Yeah, I think lots of people have that diving problem. I feel it sometimes, and our new kid, Manna, has trouble with it.

I school inside stalls every day. Mine are REALLY weak on flip. I do this drill:
inside > plantless same foot clipper > osis [repeat]
It feels soooo cool :)

I went camera happy today, and then added all of my other pics I haven't posted lately.

I have one more week of these two classes, I feel like I have some time to do things this weekend. I'm gonna try to play footbag sometime. I might work on that video I made a while ago, too. All I have for school is to write up my final report in my religions class and take a final test in algebra which will be a breeze to me.

I had a bad night into day at work yesterday. People talking about me that wasn't true, it getting to me, a friend wanting to end our relationship over it and meaning it after I thought we smoothed things over, my feelings getting hurt, crying at work. Sigh. Sometimes I think I will never be completely happy until I move back to Pa, even though I know things have changed there, too, but atleast I will have family and friends.

So I was sitting at the computer today with just about nothing to do...I decided to play footbag while it was nice out. I didn't do much. It is really hard to get focused with Kayleigh running around free right now. I did work on my legovers and hit some pretty well. I worked on diving. I worked on Erik's inside stall>clipper>osis repeat combo. It was fun. Then I just randomly worked on anything else. Nothing to be proud of, but I accidentally kicked Kayleigh again. This would be the second time she came up behind me, and my knee hit her face. :( She was fine both times, though. She's tough like me.

It was nice to play again even though it wasn't much. I'm proud of myself. I have been eating really badly lately, and all week I haven't eaten sweets or junk. My sweets are fruit and yogurt. I will reward myself over the weekend and try again for the next week. I've also worked out twice this week so far. I meant to do more, but stuff happens...

Mom offered to watch Kayleigh today, so I got a more focused session in. My legovers are getting a lot better. Heh...I can hit two, three, four (?...wasn't counting) of them in a row. I feel like such a newb to say something like that after playing for how many years??? (Four. Off and on.) I especially feel like a newb compared to all the girls hitting huge tricks these days. But oh well. I hope I catch up sooner or later. Either way, I'm proud of what they are hitting. :) I didn't have a very serious session in that I didn't work on any bigger tricks. It feels great to play footbag twice in five days. I hope I find time to play again this week. I wish I could get the hang of it, and it wouldn't be so hard to play frequently. I feel like I am losing my game, since I don't play regularly. That's why my sessions haven't been so serious, aside from keeping an eye on Kayleigh, too. Wow, did I just skip around like crazy. Heh. Oh! I had a runner's high...a footbagger's high :P...today. It felt great. I love those. Hope to be talking about footbag again! Soon!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I think a lot of the reason why I play with a lot of clipper moves is because I suck at legovers. I've been thinking that maybe I can even up my toe tricks with my clipper ones once I get better at legovers. I bet this is why I can't hit dlo by now.
