This is the new blog for the KFA, aka the Knoxville Footbag Association. We are using this to keep track of sessions and so we can all post new stuff and challenge each other; if anyone else wants to comment please do!
We had a four and a half hour shred today in the 95+ degree weather in TN; we wish the Nashville crew could have made it, but hopefully sometime soon we can all get together and shred. Jason Mann, the originator of the group, is now hitting whirling swirl, ps whirl, and is closing in on ducking ps whirl. He had some great strings, paradox whirl to ripwalk to blur, some crazy dragon tricks, and a number of really nice guiltless runs. Cody, the newest member of the group, went to worlds last week and had his best session ever. His strings were twice as long as they were a few weeks ago, and he is hitting clippers and butterflies mid-sting, both of which he had a lot of difficulty with. He is also hitting some really nice atomic sets, he should have atom smasher/legbeater soon. I hit blur both sides same run, ripwalk both sides same run, my first blizzard and ducking butterfly, and am still working on my whirls; they suck.

Today is what you make it. So, like, don't screw up the recipe. ^^
We had a pretty good session this evening at Market Square where we usually kick. Cody hit some crazy stuff, but I told him he had to get on here and post himself, so I'll leave that to him. Jason's atomic and quantum sets are great; he hits quantum same and op butterfly, toe blue, legbeater and atomsmasher both sides without any problem. I hit two new tricks today: sidewalk (only strong side), and torque both sides! Torque is the last of the tricks I really wanted to hit when I started playing, so it feels really good and I need to make some new goals. I know I really have to drill my osis, not being able to string it with other stuff is really hindering a guiltless game for me.

Well let’s see I took a day off from school yesterday (which wasn’t a good idea) and played footbag all day. I worked on clippers and butterflies for most of the day with a little bit of Mike Tyson punch out in between. That game is way too hard I used cheat codes and still couldn't beat it. Anyways when I met up with Brain and Jason I hit clipper ss butterfly, dimwalk, ducking butterfly and flip clipper. Then after Jason left and the street lights came on I had an epiphany. I’m hitting ducking butterfly every once in a while so why not try phoenix then like twenty tries later I hit it twice woohoo! I also put together some killer shred music.
Side note, I’m hopefully going to play with Jimmy Friday. He hurt his ankle a few weeks ago trying blur then he wiped out on his unicycle trying to jump up some stairs. So if it all goes well, Friday we will have a nice day of footbag without any injures. I’m bringing some Wal-Profen just in case.

Thanks Zac!
I played Friday with Jimmy and Kari at Pellissippi. Jimmy had some really nice runs and Kari was really starting to get down those toe stalls.

Monday I played with Brain for a while nothing really new just had a few long runs.
Yesterday I had a nice little session with Jason and Jimmy. After some coaching from Jason I finally hit symposium mirage then I hit pixie ss mirage. Jimmy landed a sweet whirl for the first time and had several nice runs. Jason brought the craziness like always hitting all kinds of tricks but I don’t know the names.

Thanks Kevin, I too am looking forward to our next shred session, whenever that may be.Sporatical_Distractions wrote:Sounds like you've improved a lot since we roomed at Worlds.
Skipping school to play footbag? *tsk tsk*
Props on Phoenix. Can't wait to Shred with you again. CodyBee is one of the nicest guys around.
I’ve been trying to get Jason on here and post but I guess he does not have the time.ericksonj wrote:Tell Jason to get on here and post, I haven't talked to him in forever.
You know I am homedog and you too can have a cool pair of Wal-Mart designer sunglasses for just 5 dollars.Iron Clad Ben wrote:For shizzle dizzle. Also, gotta say I dig his new shades. Heck yea man, we are going to have a blast when you guys visit, I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to probably be a while before I hit darkwalk. My good pixie side is my bad butter then it’s the opposite on the other. But this gives me something to work toward! O and that bag I bought from you is awesome we have been shredding with it a lot. Brain wants to buy it and Jason “accidentallyâ€brinard wrote:woooo knoxville!

I went rock climbing for the first time Friday at the Knoxville climbing center. What we did was called bouldering and it was hard and I'm really sore.
Jimmy and I played yesterday at the square for about 4 hours or so. I hit some new stuff atom smasher (which will never happen again), ducking legover, and I did butter to flip butter. Jimmy hit some new stuff to ________, ______, and _______ I’ll let him feel in the blanks. So some people came up to us and asked if we were street performers. I guess we looked like it with footbag, juggling, and we both were riding our unicycles. After our session we rode the unicycles to a pizza place in the old city. There were people honking as they drove by and yelling things at us, it was really funny. I made Jimmy wreck a few times when I wiped out. We got some weird looks at the pizza place when we walked in with unicycles. Urban unicycling good times, until you go up a hill.

Hello all, after some recommendations I've decided to join the KFA blog. I've never been on modified before even though I've been kicking for like 6 years. That does not mean that I've been improving for 6 years though. Kind of the slacker lately.
Anyways, I'm pretty well tiltless, got a lot of 3's and a couple 4 adds in the trickset. I just recently got down some pixies and landed dimwalk and smear. I've decided to overcome my flipside deficiency instead of learning new tricks for a while.
The KFA event got me all excited about footbag and I figured being on modified could keep the fire going.

I landed a paradon on tuesday for the first time. That was awesome.
Yesterday I drilled flipside clips and flip insides for about 30-45 mins.
It seems bad that I can't do flipside clips well while I'm landing paradon and stuff. But then again, landing paradon is way more fun than flipside clips!
Peace.

I hit symposium smear last night and atom smasher is starting to become easer but I do it really leggy. I’ve been working on my flip pixie and can hit smear, pixie leg over, and sometimes dim walk out of it. I’m going to really start drilling my flip butterfly and down time illusion. I also finally did an oasis for the first time Thursday. We have started playing horse and everyone can do an oasis but me. So if they throw an oasis in the mix it is a guaranteed letter for me. Jimmy hit a double atw Thursday! Is there a game we can play for string length? I made some sweet juggling balls last night out of tennis balls.
