Worlds... Everyone is there now, I really should have gone. I have plenty of vacation time and could easily have made the trip to florida. Oh well. I think if I had gotten back into footbag a month before I did I would have made plans to go. At least Aaron is there representing Eugene and i will get an in person report. I think I am definitely going to worlds in Europe next year. Playing footbag for this long and never being to a worlds is just ridiculous. Now that Aaron has gone I am the only one who hasn't gone to a worlds from the Eugene crew. That will have to change.
Nate and I had an awesome session today. Nate called it our Worlds session. It was probably the best session I've had with nate in a long time. Highlights from me include:
Burriest bs, blurry whirls bs, pixie paradon bs, a few vortexes and a mobius. Came really close to dbl spinning clip on flip side. I hit dyno>torque for the first time, pretty easy but new. Also stepped out of both paradons and hit both halfs of the bap drill. Can't wait to hit that now that I have my flip double down. Came close to dawt>dawt different directions. Did a spinning outside kick to spinning clip to string. Stepped out of blurry whirl (first time?) And I also hit butterfly swirl>spiinning whirl. There was probably other stuff but those were the things that stuck out or were atypical of me. Mostly it was really the flipside double down that was really working for me today. I couldn't even hit that on my flipside until a month ago. I also had a few strings that were cool, overall it was an awesome shred day and really kicked off my mood for the rest of the day. hah those sound like newbie highlights, but they are the holes in my game that I am filling in and working on. I am throwing the whirl sutff now that my knees don't hurt from them so much. Maybe I will keep throwing them if they don't hurt.
Ok thats all, nobody will read this since everyone is at worlds. Wish I was there I hope you all kick ass! Blough free zone!

We had a session together, nate, james, and i yesterday. Looks like we'll be doing it again today, hopefully my legs will hold up since their still feeling worlds. But if they don't, I'll just throw all the cool ass hacky tricks i learned at worlds.
New hits:
Clean double dive
Nuclear ss reverse whirl (inspired by suderman)
Surging In-Gyro Toe
Pincher > Handstand > one arm handstand for like five seconds

that session was sweet, I hit more 5s than normal that day. Hit blurry whirl bsos, blurriest bsos (though flip may have been a little thin), phoenix>blurry whirl>run, flip dbl spinning clip, almost spinning ducking osis bsos, blurrywhirl>ripwalk a couple times in some runs, dimwalk swirl>dlo>string. A nice long run at the end of the day. pixie paradon on bs, really deep on flip. tomahawk, spinning whirl, flipside ptorque.
hmm thats all I remember now. I was really happy with how I played that day, but everyone was playing well that day.

Crap session yesterday with Aaron. We played for a long time anyway. Aarons legs were hurting and I couldn't link anything together. I felt really heavy and couldnt get a bounce. I hit motion for the first time though which was cool. Hit it from toe. I also hit wauxspin>legbeater>short string. Came close to spinning ducking osis>tomahawk. Thats about it I think. We played horse, but the whole time Aaron kept making me laugh by saying... Hey dude, you wanna know a secret...... I'll let him finish it off.
Red is coming into the area for the beaver open over the weekend, so we are going to plan a shred session on Sunday. I haven't kicked with red in a while so that should be fun!

There's a problem with playing horse next to hot girls playing volleyball, their distracting. So I told James, straight from the Family Quote itself, "Hey dude, wanna know a secret? I would do her. Oh yeah, definately."
I won both games of horse with this, the master manipulator, me!
Anyway, new hits:
Blurrywhirl > blizzard > bsos
Flux
Gyro Flux footed like 10 times
spinning x-body rake > ducking x-body rake bsos
Torques are feeling a lot easier

So Red came over yesterday to have a session before he went out to the beaver open. We waited for Aaron to get off work, and Aaron suggested that we go out and shred at the beaver open. Red hooked it up so we didn't have to pay to go shred there and we headed out. Aaron got a couple of new additions to the Eugene scene. One is Casey who can do lots of twos and some threes and is impoving like mad. He is a giant bodybuilder like aaron. The other guy is an ex marine named Ernie. He came out of nowhere and has butterflies osis, legovers mirages, and can almost shred guiltless with bops! He is learning so quickly and seems really into it.
Anyway we all kicked on this wooden platform that kept cracking under our feet. Kenny Schultz joined us about 30 min into the shred. Eventually we decided the platform was too hot and we moved it into the shade in the dirt. Dirt shred was ok. It was a little scary thinking about rolling an ankle but everyone did just fine. Kenny was awesome as always and so was Red. Jake Wren showed up a bit into the session. I hadn't seen him for about a year. He has gotten so much better. Everyone at the beaver was like where did that Jake Penske get off too? A lot of people thought Jim made it out to the beaver because Jake looks so much like him. I think that should be Jakes nickname, Jake 'Penske' Wren.
Well we played for a long time, lots of good stuff and awesome strings were hit by everyone. Everyone really impressed me, especially the new additions to the Eugene crew. Keep it up guys!

Had a good four man today with James, Casey, Alex (New Join), and myself. The new guys are improving amazingly well. They are at the exact same skill level so they were pushing each other every run which is great. They both managed atw > mirage > ss mirage on both sides. Casey tried to then drill it afterward! Anyway, James seems pretty impressed with them, as am I and hopefully they'll be attending all of our sessions from now on.
James hit some long runs today with some new links and worked his blurry whirls at the beginning of the session. I also remember him throwing vortex and blurriest midrun today which was cool to see.
I also hit some new stuff but I was more impressed with the control I had today. I warmed up with barefoot shred and I believe that helped my game flow better. My flip pixie is getting up to par and I threw a lot of that.
Some hits:
Blizzard, Stepping SS Illusion, Bubba, and Pdx Illusion all bsos (T.O.R.)
Whirlwind, 2 out of 2 tries today.
Haze > Toe Blender
Almost got Spikehammer > Alpine Legbeater, next time.

Just got a call from Nate, he's in town for the weekend again and his knee is feeling better. We will have a huge shred session tomorrow, should be fun. I have taken the last couple days off to heal up so I should be ready. Been feeling really good about my game. I have much of my consistency back, and now I am just trying to work new moves into my runs. Playing with aaron a lot means trying a bunch of stuff that I never try because he demands it, but thats good.

Hey guys, this guy posted in the General Footbag thread. He is going to be in your town only for tomorrow. You should contact him!

Erik: Thanks for the heads up! I Just PMed him, so hopefully we get a chance too hook up tomorrow. Eugene Celebration is going on tomorrow, and we've got everyone here so that would be fun.
Jim: I just got off the phone with Aaron and found out that he can't go. I was trying to get Aaron and Nate to go about 2 weeks ago but both of them can't take the time off of work. Aaron and I talked about it yesterday and he decided to try to get the time off, but it didn't work out. Was hoping I would have better news, I don't think I would make the 8 hour drive alone. It really does sound like a lot of fun. I'll try to pester nate about it again an see if he can possibly take fri-sun off.

Hey James,
You should try to talk Nate into coming. He hasn't come to tournament forever. Another thing you could do is drive up to Portland and catch a ride with Red, Nick, or Jake. Or drive up there and pick up Nick and Jake. I think Red is coming in on Saturday night but Nick and Jake are still looking for a ride.

Sorry Jimbo, I'm not gonna make it out this time.
Anyway, new stuff this weekend at the biggest Eugene session in a LONG time. We had Nate, James, Myself, Casey, Alex, Eddie, and a new join from Talent, Oregon who has an insanely flat clipper/osis and is only 15! Watch out Nick Landes, Oregon has another one.
Some memorable moments:
My Aiden bag getting stuck up on the roof of the bank where we were playing! We looked up and thought it landed on some sort of anti-theft spikes and I was worried I wouldn't get it back. Anyway, luckily a drunk hacky sacker took it solely upon himself, with a little pushing strength from me, to get it. For a second there I thought he had impaled himself but found out shortly after, the spikes were plastic, and my bag was saved! Thank you drunk Portland kicker!
I saw James hit really consistently long strings, I think he's back to full shred level finally. It only took three months of pushing! In addition, Nate showed up to show some Nastiness, he dropped a few pounds since last time and is showing it. His game is getting back to where it used to be, and he's hitting some Nasty Nate combos. One I remember is blender > inspinning clip, barrage > grifter, and also inspinning clip > schmoe. Beyond that, Casey and Alex are both pushing each other every time they go out, which is great. They both are around 6-7 tiltless consecutively now without bails. Eddie is improving faster then anyone though, when I met him he could barely do threes, now he is linking them with ease after a few sessions! His form is great, and he isn't pushing too hard too fast, he is taking the smart approach and gathering the foundation right now. The most surprising kicker was the guest from Talent Oregon (Name?). At only 15, busting good guiltless tricks and combos, and even some fours. He'll be at the next level very shortly.
New hits for me:
Lots of stepping ducking!
SpikeHammer Bsos (First time in front of others)
A run with Ripped, Spike, Pheonix, and tomahawk.
Bigwalkspin (First time in front of others)
Dimwalk Gyro Toe Midrun, I think I got almost too many props for this!
Montage (Finally! Bad Seal)
Blurry Whirl > Mullet (Have I done this?)
Some other stuff that I can't remember. It was definately a great Eugene Celebration weekend shred session though.

Hah I heard you were wrestling some 6-5 245lb dude and messed up your knee. Hope it heals quick, your last day of shred was awesome.
I played solo for a while today working both side double down moves to stepping combos. Hit a variety of stuff with that and did lots of long strings and shuffle for cardio.
Casey caught up with me as I was heading out and we had a short session. He hit some new moves today, far legover, far pickup, pdx mirage!... and datw!!! He was so excited it was fun to watch. He was also very close to ducking clipper and smear. He also had pixie clip>spinning clip off his foot which was really cool. He ended the day with ss mirage x 5. Really cool stuff I'm glad he is getting better every session.
