Footbag Across the Country (with Rt. and Map, First post)

Post by Chase »

My name is Chase, I'm 22, from Maine. I have been kicking as long as i can remember, but knew nothing about freestyle until the beginning of this summer. I have been serious about it since July.

I had never even seen someone freestyle until I met up with Adam Sitarski at the end of august. Since I started playing with the Orono, ME crew my game has improved 500%

Enough introduction...

Okay, so i've got a relative route planned out,

Image

B) Portland, ME Oct. 19: (i'm just visiting some friends there, but if there is someone here who wants to meet up let me know.

C) New York, Oct. 20-21: Let me know when/where you guys are playing and I'll be there.

D) Washington DC, Oct. 21/22/23: (this is where my dates start to get a little fuzzy) Let me know which of those days is better for you guys.

E) Charelston, WV Oct. 24/25/26: visiting my dad for his birthday.

F) Knoxville, TN Oct. 27: Knoxville Jam!

G) Cincinnati, OH Oct, 28/29/30: (my dates get a little fuzzy again) I'm meeting up with another friend, again, if anyone in the area can kick, let me know.

H) Chicago, IL Oct. 30/31: You guys doing anything cool for Halloween? What days are good for you?

At this point it's looking like i'm going straight to I) Reno, then Tahoe. I would love it if I could break those 30 hours of driving up some how...

Please feel free to suggest better dates for arrival, I'm still pretty flexible...

It's out of your way, but you're welcome in Vegas if you decide to come.

If you decided to take the Southern route, Santa Cruz CA would be on your way. ;-) You're welcome here. We have beer, beaches, footbag players, palm trees, a hammock, a futon couch, a place to park, a grill, a nice kitchen, old and new footbag videos, and an active (and inviting) footbag net scene.

This has been a much better turnout than i expected.

Thank you everyone for replying so fast, and being so welcoming.

I'm terrible at making plans, but it looks like my tentative departure date is Oct. 20. I think i can stop in everywhere i've been invited on the way out, except for maybe Santa Cruz. But i don't see a reason why i can't drive down at some point this winter.

I might have to hold off on Idaho until another time. I actually spent a good portion of my child hood in Boise and havn't been back since i was 11 and would love to come back for a little while.

I'm gonna have to drive back some time late april, early may, so there should def. be a 2nd trip...

My job here in Maine ends Oct. 15th. I plan on hitting the road by Oct. 20th, so that shouldn't be a problem.

You have an Open invite with the Missoula Footbag Alliance. A session here could mean anything from 5-20 players, depending on the day. There's definitely an open spot for several nights, more if you are about your van (which it sounds like you are). In my personal opinion, Missoula rocks. I hope you can make it.
What an awesome and fun time your trip sounds like! Take Pictures!

It looks like Montana is going to be a bit out of my way, but like I said, i'm driving back in the spring, and have thought of coming back through Canada...

I live just outside of Columbus Ohio, which might be a bit out of your way if you're in Cincinati, and I'm injured and am not sure if I'll be able to play, but maybe something to think about if you end up going near Columbus, PM me beforehand.
