I second that.

I had your same problem. So I said fuck the books. And my teacher gave me slack and I just have to read one fourth of one book each week and take a test over that fourth.

Kite Runner is a horrible book. They're raping little arab kids with kites. I don't like it. But it was the shortest. :P

maybe you shouldve started reading earlier.

or theres an alternative to no reading. you could drop out and go work at captain ds or walmart for minimum wage and complain for the rest of your life about how hard it is to make ends meet when you live from paycheck to paycheck.

either way youll be complaining.

Or you could do what I do: never pay attention, never do the homework, never study, and still get good grades. The secret is to talk back to the teachers just the right amount and in such a way that they respect you.

Highschool man? Everyone has gone through this, just settle down and get it over with. Even if you slightly attempt to do the work you can pass, just don't slack off altogether. I'm not sure college is for everyone (ahem, being a two time college dropout), but a diploma or a GED is DEFINITELY a key part of having a healthy future. Gotta make that money!

Unless...you're this huge hippie and just want to move away from society and head up into the mountains, killing your own food and living on your own. I've actually thought about this myself...

Good luck with the books man. There is always sparknotes.com but I wouldnt rely on it too heavily. Sometimes books are actually "cool."

You can't read 600 pages in two days? Do you have a 2nd grade reading level or something? Just sit the hell down, and read it. It's not hard... FFS.

Stop every 2-3 chapters (depending on how many chapters there are) and make your little books logs, which need to be what? 1, 2 paragraphs? Do you need some Ritalin or something? Can't you stay on task?

Suck it up kid. Stay up till 3 in the morning, like many kids sometimes have to do to get important homework done, read during lunch, w/e the hell you have to do.

I know this criticism is coming at you AFTER your assignment was already due, but, you still deserve to be verbally smacked up. Do you want to go to college?

I have a bunch of studying to do for this week. got a few hours in and grew tired. So I brewed a pot of coffee, pounded half of it, and within a few minutes fell asleep for 3 hours anyways :?

Have you read 600 textbook pages in 2 days? it takes me about an hour to get through 20 pages. that's roughly 30 hours of reading in 2 days. quite hard if you ask me.

Even so. You can simply skim through and power read as I, for unknown reasons, call it. Take in what looks to be main ideas, some info here and there, and once you think you got enough for each book log or w/e he has to do, then write it. A good paper on a book doesn't have to have ALL the facts, and you don't have to read the entire book and analyze every god forsaken page. And if need be, after those logs, you can go back when you have more time to read it in more depth.

I suppose your reading level may have a contributing factor as well. Some nights I read slow because I'm tired, and then I get frustrated when I've only read 30 or so pages in an hour (story chapter books), and then I put the book down because I'm not enjoying it...
