Good job on the pickups.
My advice is to drop the butterflies, osises, and whirls, and focus on your 2 add tricks exclusively, until you can link any of them into and out of any of them, and can do runs of 20 2 add tricks with no toe stalls, and nothing below 2 adds. Once you can do this, then I think you will be ready to work on adding basic 3 add tricks.
Work on your clippers.
Work on your toe stalls and basic kicks.
Remember to do EVERYTHING both sides (that includes, especially, the absolute basics, like inside kicks, and toe kicks, toe stalls, and clipper stalls!!!) There is no way in the whole entire world that I can stress that enough. You will probably never ever hear better advice than to do everything both sides.

Great job, man! Seems like you're catching on rather fast--hope ya feel better soon and can get some more practicing in. Don't overdo it until you're in tiptop shape tho', or you'll feel really crappy
.
And Erik beat me to it--do everything on both sides... it is so much easier to learn a weaker side when you're just learning in on your strong side, than to be doing extremely great moves later and realize that you have to seal the trick with something on your weak side--oops! Plus, who wants to still be learning an opposite side toe stall when they can do whirls and blenders, etc.

Yeah i know what you mean. i got a friend who can do legovers, pickups, butterflies, and an ok osis but only on his strong side, he can't do a toe stall on his flip side though. I try to convince him to work his flipside more, but he just denies that his body is capable of doing it. I don't buy it, i think he just doesn't want to put the time and effort into it. Oh well, my sickness is getting better. I'm almost completely healed except for the worst sore throat I've ever had ever.

Sorry you got sick... I think we forgot to mention the million weird Eugene viruses that float around on the backs of intoxicated hippies. We are all immune now from being here so long, but you got a massive dose from the eugene celebration. Hope you feel better and get back to kickin

Well, went to the doctor yesterday, and it turns out i had super positive strep throat. So he gave me some antibiotics and i should be back in the game by tomorrow. I am starting to feel a little better, but i haven't been doing anything physical, (Footbag is the only time i really ever get a workout) So I've been feeling really crappy because of that lately. But i should back into optimal playing condition by tomorrow, who knows, i might even try some shredding today, it would be laid back, but I'm so out of practice. It would be good top get started whenever possible.

Good News! I'm healthy enough to play again! I had a killer session today. got super clean DATW, Torque, and i drilled mirages and pickups. I got 8 pickups in a row, was going for 10 on each leg, but dropped at 4, but thats still major improvement. I also drilled my mirages, did 5 consecutive on both sides. I can feel myself becoming better, and what do you know, my flipside clipper is getting better. I took that advice and completely stopped doing three adds in my runs, though i do slip and try a trick or something, nothing mid combo. Quick question, what are the terms for level of play? I think tiltless means 2 adds or more, and Guiltless is 3 adds or more, correct me if I'm wrong, the only one i know for sure is Fearless, 5 adds or more.

Well, heres an update on my footbag progress. Nothing really new, though i did hit DATW multiple times, and i can feel it becoming more natural. Though after like 10 attempts at it my leg starts to hurt from the excessive dexing. Another cool thing i hit was pixie set osis. Thanks for the advice Eugene Crew, my pixies are getting better, though only on my strong side, though i know I'll have to work the flipside sooner or later. Another worth noting thing is that i got to kick with Cale again! I haven't kicked with him in forever. To bad our meeting was un-expected, and he didn't have his lavers with him, but he still rocks bare foot. I was amazed when he hit paste for the first time, that was awesome. Cale if you read this, do that drill i showed you, and remember this advice that i got from Erik, drop you're three adds and work solely on your 2 add tricks. It does wonders for your consistency. I can say that i have become a better shredder thanks to that. Oh yeah, one more thing, i hit symposium Mirage for the first time on my strong side, i then did it many more times, that trick feels great. Well, update complete, off to my piano lesson. One more thing, if i wanted to post a link or something of my music, how would i go about doing it? Thanks for any info regarding that or footbag, someone give me a challenge or something, something to excite my footbag genes, thaty need stimulation!

Woo, had some great playing today. I hit a new trick, Paste (Pixie Set Pickup) and i also got my Pixie Osis pretty good as well. I've started trying to get swirl, but it's pretty tough, I'll get there though, just got to keep trying. Me and my friend got a new high score for hacks as well, it's now 59 when it was 23. It's awesome, though it's still not the best around. Well, I'm incredibly close to hitting Dimwalk and swirl, so as soon as that happens I'll let you guys know. Cheers.

I'm back! Its been a long while, but I'm finally updating this sucker. My game has improved massively since my last post. I can consistently hit tiltless combos of 10 or more (When I'm in a good shred mood) and i have a ton of new tricks. I have gotten torque pretty good. I usually do it from a same side toe set, but i recently got it from a clipper set thanks to the Eugene kickers. I also got drifter both sides (Toe set) and i have gotten clipper set blender. More tricks are as follows, Ripwalk, Sidewalk, Dimwalk, Parkwalk, Pixie Osis, Smear, Paste, PLO, Paradox Whirl, Flipside toe set Whirl, Outside set Dyno (I think) and many other things. My footbag is getting better every day, and it will just keep getting better. I will start updating this with more stuff consistently. Now i gotta go, can't keep dinner waiting.

Today i had a great solo session. I didn't do many runs, but i got alot of big tricks (at least for me). I also made this my first footbag film. I'll post the link at the end of the post. I got alot of cool stuff today. My favorite has to be either Butterfly>Sidewalk, or Butterfly>Blender. I also got clipper set Dyno, i think. I guess you'll see. Just to clarify I'm not foregoing tiltless at all. In fact theres an 11 contact tiltless in the video, though half of the contacts are osis's. Anyway, heres the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHRedYAqSCI

It's funny, until i met you guys up in Eugene, i thought my ankle crank was crappy. But watching the video i can see my osis the way you guys see it. To tell you the truth it does not look like that from my perspective. The ones i do in the video seem completely foreign to me. They just look weird. I don't need to spin for osis's that often, unless i want to do more then like 2 in a row, but yeah, i guess thats not normal in the footbag world. Oh well, i think the thing I'm most proud of in that video is the butterfly blender, cause i love the way it looks. I think the Butterfly>Ripwalk isn't clean either. It doesn't look like i dex, but kinda scoop the bag for the butterfly component. Oh well, thats what practice is for. What was your favorite trick in that video? Also, i think the one whirl i do is super the. But if you guys envy my ankle crank, i envy Cales long legs. His pixies are so good.

Just had the best session I've ever had! I feel so freaking amazing. I Decided that before i go for any big adds, or before i even try incorporating guiltless into my freestyle, I'm gonna get down the tiltless like a crazy cracka! So today i had a session where i got my highest score for tiltless contacts. My new contact high score is 15. Now that may not sound like much, but if you know me, you know i have a problem with a little trick called Osis. I always bail to this trick, and usually i can pickup out of it, but i want to nip that in the bud, and get it so i can do a true tiltless trick string with only 2 adds. The 15 contact string had 3 osis's in it, but thats still a huge improvement for me, where the one in that video had like half osis's. Another thing i noticed was my form. Before this session i could never get 10 mirages in a row, and my legovers improved massively. I also realized that i should keep the bag close, and have more flowing, relaxed movements. I noticed that when i went for a mirage, i would strike the ground with my dexing leg really hard, almost to the point of hurting my foot badly. But now i understand the concept of these tricks, and i get what i should be doing. I feel so good right now knowing that my game is going to skyrocket in the next week, i can't wait to shred again. Until we meet again.

Oh my gosh. I just had another awesome session. My Tiltless score is now 23, i finally broke the barrier holding me back, and i finally understand. My form has been improving incredibly, and my mirages are getting really good, along with my legovers. I also did a lot of refractions today. The best part about this session though, is that i got it on video. Though the lens is set to close picture mode, so it's a tiny bit blurry, but still watchable. I encourage you who read this to watch it and give any feed back on form or any thing i might be doing wrong. I feel so invigorated, I'm actually becoming a legitimate freestyler. There was another run after the 23 contact one, though that one is only 18 contacts, and consists of only toe tricks, no 3 adds. I don't want to post it though, to lazy. Well hope you guys enjoy the video, and root for me as i become better and better at this amazing sport. I feel blessed to have found footbag at the age of 15, and to get this good in not even a year, maybe just around 10/9 months. I love the sport so much, i hope that everyone here shares my sentiment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlYZENvWKNw Shred on brothers, Shred on.
