Amateurs practice until they can get it right.
Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.
No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Wow. That is how you are supposed to kill them. It would just be a waste of a bullet.
Seal taste so good fried up. Especially if you take some of the blubber and put it in there when you fry it up. Some people like it with ketchup, but I think it just ruins the flavor. It is also really good raw.

would it also not be a waste of some of the fur if you punctured it and spilt blood all over it? Clubbing seems more barbaric (sort of, I guess... not really... at all) than shooting, but if it was always done with guns, more baby seals would have to be killed to make up the same amount of food/oils/trading goods/whatever else. Besides, what else kills seals? Polar Bears. How do bears kill seals?Eskimo Joe wrote:Wow. That is how you are supposed to kill them. It would just be a waste of a bullet.
I think I'm more envioronmentally inclined than anybody else in my school, probably more than just about anyone I know around my age; but there are ALOT of way more serious issues to worry about. I don't even think that I need to start listing examples.

if it wasnt than i would say that ppl shouldnt be such wussies about it damn and stop giving those people that make a living off of it a hard time.
yeah how do you think polar bears eat them? ...maybe they pet them first and then they climb into theirs mouths on their free will ..cuz its nice and cosy in there. seriously if it makes you that sick you should probably be a vegeterian.
ever eaten a nice piece of veal!? well sorry to say this and destroy those not so educated on this topic but veal is also a little baby cow... a calf to be precise.
where i live we eat rabbits... yeah those sweet little bugs bunny guys... pretty fuckin tasty if you ask me! AND! we skin those little suckers on a fence... hang them by their heads and pull their skin off.
hope one of you wussies is stranded out in the wild and has to eat bugs and weeds to survive.. wussies.
...and i love kangeroos ..YUM!

Hey Wu_
Yes we Inuit actually eat them. But ringed seal is the seal of choice. I love your description of how the rabbits are skinned!
And RawSko, you are right. There would be a hole, it would require extra attention to clean that area up and sew it together.
Polar Bears smell them throught the ice, stalk them, and then pound through the aglu (ahh-glue), which is an ice cave where baby seals are kind of nursed, and then rip them apart with their claws and teeth.
I think that clubbing them is quicker than the way bears kill them. But bears are only successful like 1/20 attempts.
But also, for people concerned about conservation, here is a link indicating that these seals are not at risk in any way, they are not even a species of special concern!
