Whats up everybody! Kenny Shults YouTube Clip

Post by Hulk »

Hey, my name is Casey, and I just recently started playing footbag. I've been playing for a little under two months now in Eugene, Oregon. I usually play with my best friend Aaron Orton, James, Alex, and Eddie. I got officially introduced to the footbag community a couple weekends ago at the "Beaver Family" spot in Veneta, Oregon. I got a chance to play with those listed above, including Red, Kenny Shults, and Jake. Sorry if I forgot someone, and that I don't know your last names.

I just wanted to say whats up, and look forward to seeing you next session.

Here is a clip I got of Kenny Shults going for the big moves that day at the Beaver Family spot:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KovPHuZu7s

That's the entire video; one 3 move easy run, 2 clips of double spinning osis to an attempt at inspinning osis and then two attempts of double spinning miarge drop (it looks like he's going for more than a mirage).

My point was that probably people wouldn't be that excited when they watch the video, since the level of footbag footage is not very impressive. I'm sure Kenny would agree.

I enjoyed the video and am glad that you posted it. It's been a while since I've seen any footage of Kenny and I've always enjoyed watching him try big tricks, even when he doesn't hit them.

The point of the video was not to showcase Kenny's shred but to share a piece of his first experience kicking with his footbag idol. He was very excited about getting to meet Kenny, and also did a little bit of filming. While I agree that it does not portray the depth of Kenny's game in any way, Casey was still very impressed with the footage and rightly so as a new footbag player. Kenny did play quite well that day even on dirt, and hit very nice consistent runs. He is still in top form and is the man.

a part of the excitement for me is not just seeing phat combos & perfect execution, but seeing the man still in action who invented the foundations of the sport.

to me, because of the realization of this, kenny has a tremendous presence on film, regardless of what he's hitting.

I agree with Mitko, in fact I told Casey to post this video. However, I never expected someone like Jeremy to put it down. It was a fun session and a really good time kicking with Kenny for once. Casey filmed because Kenny Shultz, in tricks of the trade one, was the first thing he ever had seen of footbag. Besides, I'd watch this if anyone filmed it. He's the man.

Sorry, what did I say to put him down? Is saying that I didn\'t enjoy watching the video a personal put down? There are plenty of things I don\'t enjoy, and I\'m happy to give feedback when I see something that I don\'t enjoy. To call that a \"put down\" is ludicrous. If I call somebody a c*nt and they tell me they don\'t like being called a c*nt, does that mean they\'re putting me down?

Does everybody agree that the opinion that this video is not very exciting is a valid opinion? If so, what is wrong with expressing that opinion? I\'d rather be known as somebody who you can trust to give you an honest judgement, than be one of the many people on this forum who I\'d never ask their opinion on things, because I constantly see them be too nice rather than honest. Maybe it\'s not such an issue in this topic, but it\'s especially important when you give feedback to a new person on their own moves. It\'s far better when you\'re new at something to get honesty than false praise.

No. It is exciting, in fact, I'm going to watch it again, right now. [/discussion]

I didn't ask if you found it exciting, I asked if you could understand that not everybody would find it an exciting video. Is that an valid opinion to hold, or an invalid opinion to hold?

If I had seen Jeremys post before watching the video I certainly wouldn't have bothered seeing it. At least to me it doesn't matter who's playing if the footage is so boring. For exapmle if Vasek would be dropping tricks for a whole two minutes long video I wouldn't watch it.
