Ha. Thanks guys.
Ashley, I love being organized... that is why I think librarianism is for me ;) Let me know if you want help with bubble tea stuff. I love spreading the love. I wonder if bubble tea is a lot less sweet in the U.S.A., because your guys have, like, unsweetened iced tea... did you find my bubble tea excessively sweet? Some people do.
Oh yeah, for cooking the bubbles, if, after the 45 minute total time, the water is very, very thick (oh, stir between each heat change too!), then 10 cups isn't enough. It was a SUPER rough estimate... You don't want the bubbles to stick to the bottom of the pot (which will happen if you don't have enough water.) By 10 cups, I basically meant 3/4 of a pot full... yeah. That's what I do, I just wasn't sure what the average pot size is to most people... so try that.

Shred: September 8th, 2007:
Anyway. Shred today was uneventful.
It, like, hurt to stand the majority of the time. I usually sat out 3 out of 4 rotations. I had some long runs, though. My highlight was a 70-some run that wasn't dumbed down at all. It was just, like, a good run... X 3.5 :) There was a 60-some one too, but that was mostly big drill-oriented. Then there were a lot of 30 and 40+ runs. Nothing note-worthy, really.
Oh yeah, I also broke the world diving mirage record, I think, with 26. I kind of just caught the bag, I think? I don't know what the record was... like 16 or 19? Meh. I could do more. Andrew said a bunch were the, and I've noticed that in that recent video I made, and the ShrEdmonton videos... that sucks. My ducks were always really deep for the most part. I will have to concentrate on that. I'm also trying to calm down my left hand, because my right hand looks relaxed when I shred, but on my left, my fingers look like a witches... all scraggily and tense..

Shins splints + athletic therapy
Shin splints is what's mostly holding me back, which is dumb. So Andrew and I collaborated on a solution. I am going to kind of ease into it, like, try to play lightly every second day, 15-20 minutes, and then ease up the time-span, and then ease down the time span and move to daily, etc. Like, to condition my legs. Andrew made a good point about how I pretty much don't play all week and then stomp the crap out of them for 3 or 4 hours one day... repeat. So this makes sense in theory... He's also going to ask if he can do his paper (in athletic therapy school) on shin splints, to help me out. I'm very excited for him to become an athletic therapist.... because he said he's going to fix me when he graduates :p

So, here are a few more photos. I forgot to take pictures of my Climas mods, like I was excited to before, so here they are:

Image
I've made a couple more mods on my black Climas. Here you can see I've filled in the inside surface with black silicon. The plastic was far too slippery, and the huge gap messed up my spinning tricks. The new inside surface is similar to my old Lavers, which are more consistent. You can see a few air bubbles, which look kinda bad, but don't seem to affect the playability.

Image
Here is a toe mesh-removal mod that Tom Mosher kind of forced on me at Worlds. You can see the comparison to the still-meshy toe surface of my blue pair. It looks a little ugly, but they're all black, so it's hard to notice. I also don't notice much improvement to play, but perhaps there is a little. Certainly, in theory it should help, particularly since I always did the reverse mod on my Lavers.

Image
Here is the comparison between my modded and unmodded Climas. The blue shoe is what the inside looked like before I siliconed the inside surface of the black Climas.

Image
Here is another shot that kind of shows better how deep the gap was, and now how flat the inside is on my modded pair.
Big thanks to Brian Dennis for helping me out with the silicon issue, and all the tips. Also huge thank you to Tom for going and getting me caulking and a caulking gun in Florida, even if we didn't end up using it :?

Image
#017, custom-made for Manna.
Blew a stitch, so I've brought it home for repair, and sent out a lender bag :D
I am going to change the filler too, in experimentation.

Oh, I also did some foot jugglinng for a couple minutes last night and got 11 on my good side, and 8 on my flip :) New records.

Oh yeah, and I also got some comics in the mail! And I should get another shipment, like, tomorrow or Monday! Ahh! I was so excited that it came today, on Saturday, when I totally didn't expect it! I got:
Livewires: Clockwork Thugs, Yo Digest (Adam Warren) (It looks too "Marvel"... like you can tell he was forced to draw a certain way, and it sucks, because his work on his own book, "Empowered" is just breathtaking and full of feeling! -- it's very him, unlike this... I guess that's what happens when you work for a big company. ...Oh, correction -- it's not even drawn by him, just covers and writing... greater disappointment. I probably won't bother reading it.)
The Art Of H.P. Lovecraft's The Cthulhu Mythos (Looks like garbage, like I could draw better... (well, not really... but you know) What a disappointment! I've stuck it in my closet and don't plan to ever look at it again :?)
Akira Club (Katsuhiro Otomo) (Epic, hardcover...ahh. It may not be TOO interesting because it seems to be mostly behind the scenes stuff of what I've seen a bunch of times over... we'll see. It's quite large)
American Virgin Vol. 1 (Becky Cloonan) (Looks good. I'd read an issue online, and it was kind of confusing, but after reading a synopsis it makes more sense, and sounds really interesting!! I'm pretty excited, and I think I will read it in the bath, while I try to melt my shins in supa hot water)

My brother temporarily, kind of, semi-fixed my computer, and I found this jewel:
http://www.hackrifice.com/temp/hairypoc ... eggnog.wmv
A really funny clip from Shred Zero 2003. I tried to relive the hilarity with Sam, at Worlds, but he'd forgotten and I felt silly. There's Sam Colclough, and Juan Rangel, and Bijan Esnaashari, and Jon Zaleski, and Rob Fuller, and me, and Eric Reile on camera. Eric gave me a DVD of a bunch of his awesome footage when I was in Chicago last and said that he was going to make a video... but this is 4 years old, and not even hacky shred, so I don't think it is a big deal.
I hope other people find this funny too :D

Well, I had my first conditioning session this morning.
I set my cell phone to ring after 20 minutes.
It was pretty fun. My legs are actually a bit weak feeling, 40 minutes later, so I'm glad I stopped after the time, even though I felt good in the moment. I had a pretty good stretch after too, and a fruity smoothie (milk, banana, frozen blueberries and raspberries, and frozen mango). I basically just schooled 2s and osii. After my alarm rang I was going to do a long tiltless run, so I did {legover X3 drill > pickup X3 drill > mirage X3 drill} > {clipper > legover drill > clipper > pickup drill > clipper > mirage drill}, so 60 contacts, which was pretty neat, 'cause I never do tiltless. (Illusions hurt, so I don't do them.)

I played with my newest bag, #020:
Image
My bags kind of look crappy, but it played soooo well.
55g; Steel shot + lead shot.

Image
Here is #020 and #017

Image
And here is a mushmaster that I made at Worlds compared to a golf ball, and #020, to note the difference in size of the bags I was making and the bags I'm making now.

I've traced out some panels for my next two bags. One is the remake of that turquoise, yellow, and light pink one, and the other is bright pink and the light lime green. They look so flashy together... kind of like #017, but the green of #020 instead of blue.

So yeah, it was pretty fun, and I think I will go to the park on Thursday for my next conditioning session. There is this radical square of concrete right in, like, the middle of just grass and trees and a dirt path and picnic tables, and it is just perfect for shred, and I've been wanting to play there for ages. It's a really nice park where I've seen an older Chinese man doing Tai Chi; cool!

Conditioning session #002: September 12, 2007:
So I've decided to try to start with daily 20-minute sessions of warmup material. I hope I'm not pushing it. That was Andrew's original suggestion, though. We'll see on Saturday, when I plan to actually shred (can't wait!!)
I had a highlight from this morning's conditioning: 38 osii :) That beats my previous record by 8. I also got 14 contacts of osis > far osis [repeat]. I don't think that's my record on that, though. Anyway, that made me really excited to get better at osis, if I'm going to be schooling them every single day!!! Wah!

My brothers' music
Eldest brother:
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... noclip.mp3 (one of his typical "ramblings", where he just sits down and plays)
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... oneMix.mp3 (from, like, '96. I think this is just a remixed old midi. This is also all improv. He played every part on a computer keyboard, and then subsequent parts were played improv overtop.)
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... aRemix.mp3 (a remix he did that I really like)
Oh, he's also a drummer and has a couple drum sets. Oh wait... he plays like guitar and that Chinese intrument too.
The music I used in the Erik Chan/Johnny Suderman black and white video is my brother's.
Eldest younger brother:
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... ape3ab.mp3 (a song about duct tape. He is all vocals. He wrote and arranged the song)
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... vt1-t1.mp3 (a symphony he composed)
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... nuary1.mp3 (another vocals only, him on all parts, and... in an... Irish accent? :D)
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... Scream.mp3 (shows his diverse...taste... his hand at a "terrorcore" song :D hahaha)
Also plays oboe, and like cuts his own reeds and stuff.
Youngest brother:
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/broth ... Thanks.wav (most of his stuff is this kind of "praise and worship" style. I really like this one, though the recording is quite bad. I want him to make an album, and he's been in a pretty well known local band. Oh, the other brother just joined a touring, professional a capella group)
http://www.hackrifice.com/channew/brothers/improve1.wav (an example of what he mostly does, I guess, which is just play improv, self-taught (eldest brother is self-taught too) from listening to and mimicking my eldest brother -- for some reason the file is a lot bigger than all of the others... it was the only example I could find on the computer, though)
Also plays saxophone.

The most amazing thing is to sit and listen to my two brothers play improv duets. I'm so proud of my brothers -- they're the best!!

Wow I like what I hear.
It's so nice to get along with and appreciate one's siblings.

I hope the new approach you and Andrew are taking ends up benefiting your legs. You're right; it does all make sense in theory. You're too inspiring and cool to be injured, Erik. Feel better.

Also! Put a bag for me in your mental queue (sp?) if you have time. I don't have a peference in colour, really, but mid-high 50's in weight should be about right. I will pay you money! Heheh.

Yeah... FAT misses our Erik. I hope people are asking you about Freestyle Footbag.

these kids from montana and idaho keep asking me what it is, but i'm still not sure. they seem to think i'm lame because i don't have an answer for them.

erik, played your bag monday. it' breaking in fast with kicks only. probably because it's so full and is streching the material and stitches. i think i'll empty it out a bit later and it'll be sweet to play with. still really rolly right now, but it's breaking in alot, just too full. the weight is totaly perfect tho!
and re: your email. i agree, they never have indoor space for us, and maybe it's time for a change. the reason i like ROCC is (a) centraility and access to other facilities is important, (b) i can't really do anything about it now but i have a semi back up plan (c) we don't have the money to have a full indoor venue for the whole weekend (d) the cold snap is supposed to break. If you want, for next year you can be in charge of venues so this doesn't happen again.
btw, that guy steve who came out last week called me about shred at uni, so that's good! however, i won't be at shred on saturday, i work till 8pm :(

To Andrew:
Aww. So lame :(
I've been looking forward to shred with you all week!! :(
Well, as far as the bag goes, I've started using lead, and... WOW! The bags are just like that first blue-blue one, except that they LAST! Actually, they play very similar to the PegLeg bag of mine that we've been using for forever (she uses lead too, I'm pretty sure). Refilling Manna's was kind of a pain because I didn't want to waste my filler, and so I had to sort out a pile of steel from seed bead. Blech. Man, I could make that bag of yours so awesome. Too bad you won't be there Saturday. I'm sorry that I used so much seed bead. That's still my best stitched bag, though, I think. Maybe I will refill it for you.

Every single Hackrifice video on .org
In other news, I spent all of yesterday uploading EVERY SINGLE HACKRIFICE VIDEO (more or less) to my .org account. I've been meaning to clean up Hackrifice.com for ages, and this is so cool, because I will host the videos on .org and just link to them. The only downside is that Steve likes people to link to the pages and not the videos themselves (which I respect), so it will be a bit more of a pain to download (like one more step away...).
204 videos! (Actually, upon double-checking, it looks like I probably have waay more, especially for the earlier years. And this isn't counting 226 move demo videos...)
Check it out!!! http://www.footbag.org/gallery/member/12487
(If anyone knows how to delete (or even move (like you can with individual items within a set) sets, that would help me out a lot... they are cluttering upmy Hackrifice archives :()
Watching these older videos is so neat. I forget I used to be able to do stuff. Blenders? Blurriest BSOS?? COOL! :D

Conditioning session #003
My third conditioning session yesterday morning was really fun. I was looking forward to it since the last one. I did pickup X5 drill > legover X5 drill > mirage X5 drill (dropped on, like, the last move, or something), so that's another 60-contacts of tiltless. All toes burns me out fast! I think one of my favourite parts about conditioning sessions so far, is that the moves are so simple that I don't need to stop at all for a breather. I just pick up and keep going for 20 minutes straight :) It feels good! Umm. I also got 20 contacts of osis > far osis. Next session in...about 2.5 hours :)

New videos on the way?
Plus I've pulled out some tapes, and I think I am going to at least make my "Tour of Toronto w/ Mike Faille" video in the next couple of days. I don't feel like trying to edit stuff, not that I was ever particularly good at neat editing... so that kind of turns me off from working on KICKASS, which I wanted to be awesome... and that sucks, because I want it to be done with :p (It is taking up a lot of room on my bigger harddrive)

EDIT:
Conditioning session #004
Take this, Josh Lackey!
1-10 clipper drill! And back down! And back up! And then some!
324 clippers in total @____@ My legs were shaky afterwards! So, this is a drill that I stole from Josh Lackey. It's, like, consecutive alternating clippers, but instead of hitting one on one side and then one on the other, repeat, you hit one on one side, and then one on the other side, then 2 on one side, then 2 on the other, etc. You're supposed to go up to 10. So I went up to 10, and then back down to 1, and then back up to 10, and then dropped on the 9s, going down. That's the most tricks in a row that I have ever done! Whoa. My vision got blurred (from using peripheral vision while also trying to see through glasses) at about the first 10s...

I don't get it :?

Shred: September 15th, 2007:
-spinning clipper > blurry ducking clipper [repeat]
-double spinning clipper BSOS (a couple times) <--- this was really neat. I realized that I never really attempt them much because I feel silly when I miss... just kind of looks like I'm flipping out and... spinning in circles. Second and third time every BSOSing it, I think.
-footed double spinning rev whirl both sides (I think my flip spinning is somehow my good double spinning...)
-ps mirage > symp rev whirl [repeat]
-spinning rev whirl > gyro rev whirl [repeat]!!!!! Dream combo!! Whaa!! (first try too, I think!)

Actually, I was going to not bother posting, but I keep remember neat things I hit. It was a fun session. I didn't play bad, but I also didn't play awesomely, but I think that was because it was just me and Manna, and man I ran out of breath so fast! Jess arrived around when we were finishing, and we kept playing for another 40 minutes or so with her, then she left and we played some 2square.

I hit some blurry torques, which didn't seem hard. What else. I was doing a lot of flip bedwetters, which is cool, 'cause that means my flip eggbeaters are somehow getting better, even though I barely eggbeater. I was watching some old Hackrifice videos and Derek was trying blurry whirl > tomahawk > ps whirl [repeat], so I tried that, but only got half. It shouldn't be too hard, because I can step out of ps quite well. The toughy is the rev tomahawks, 'cause I never do them, 'cause they're pretty bam on my shins; hard landing. I dunno, some stuff I do all the time, like, stepping rev whirl > rev whirlygig BSOS.. I did, like, {far rev whirl > rev whirl [repeat] X2} > {[far rev whirl X3] > [rev whirl X3] [repeat]} > ps rev whirl > far rev whirl > far rev whirl > ps rev whirl > run. That was neat. Halfway through I was just, like, "There is absolutely no way that I can drop one of these tricks". It was a cool feeling.

Manna's bag got a small hole, so I am going to try a SMALL amount of seed bead in my next bag, along with the lead and steel. I also cut a new template (my old one was REALLY badly cut, and that's probably been messing with me), and I am going to try stitching closer to the edge like I did when I started stitching, because somehow the stitching on my very first bags looks way better.... so I'm thinking that might be a factor...

EDIT: Oh yeah -- also hit the jacknife that I've never hit before, which is actually my good stepping ducking.... I did some pixie paradons too. I think I will try to do that one more :)
I tried to stitch #022 a bit ago, but my third pent came out a bit bigger than the other two, and it just frustrated me, and I don't think I will ever finish this bag, and it seems like a waste of 20-some panels. I'm excited to start fresh on a new template though. I wonder if I will have to make it smaller to adjust for stitching closer to the edges, like I want to try. I wonder if it will make that much of a different. I think thing that I've got right, at least, is the size of my bags. It's so spot on -- that makes me happy :)

hey erik,

for another clima modding tip,

shave the stubbly shit on the toe mesh mod. just take a bic razor or equivialent, and shave like you were shaving your armpits or something. one direction, front to back(toe to heel dir) and keep pressure on it, so it will actually cut the stubble off. it shouldnt even be able to damage the mesh, its thick compared to a razors cutting poweres. but be careful none the less.

. that will make the fuzzy shit go away, and it will leave the surface flat, and thin. really makes the dif to me.

mosh had me mod my toe mesh after nyj 2006.after i did it, i didnt like the fuzz. so i shaved it off.

i do it to every clima now, like my silicone, and hollys stripe mods. (we're such a team!)

anyways, just makes it more responsive to the bag, and you can feel it more imo.

and props on 324 clips. i cant do half that.

take it easy!

Hah I always feel the same way. I haven't hit them very often, but when I miss it I usually almost fall over or the bag smacks me in the face and everyone in the circle is like... uh yeah

Brian, I did that mod right after I read your post. I haven't noticed a difference, but it does look less ugly :p

Conditioning session #005:
-53 osii!
-osis > far osis [repeat] (25 contacts!)
-osis > osis > pdx mirage [repeat] (36+ contacts... probably a bit more, 'cause I kept losing count)

I did barely any toe tiltless, but I did start my last run of the 20 minutes with pickup 9s. I started my Toronto tour video last night, so I should be able to finish putting it together tonight. I hope it is neat... I don't really know how it will come out, but the song is incredibly happy and uplifting :D (I knew I was going to use this song, 6 months ago when we filmed the video)

Conditioning session #007:
Some new osis records for me :)

-59 osii
-osis > far osis [repeat] (34 contacts)
-osis > osis > pdx mirage [repeat] (50 contacts)

Yesterday I hit DATW both sides, both directions, in pants, in my brother's kitchen. That was really neat, because I don't think I've hit those tricks for, like, 3-4 years?? The ins were "BSOS" (DATWin > toe stall > DATWin).I also got a random phone call the other day from some parent of a young girl in dance class whose instructor told the kids to go out and buy a "footbag" for training. That was kind of cool, and the guy seemed really polite and said he looked at the website and everything. Neato. On that note, I also worked on the video section of Hackrifice, organizing the videos by year, like in my .org account. I'm basically making it the same, but... incorporated into my website, and not all... yellow and .org-y. I don't know. It's kind of a lot of work.

(I started watching Die Hard 4. It's super good. I totally recognized the parkour guy, and I was, like, "That's that guy!" and then he started speaking French, and I was all, like, "I know!" and then he started doing awesome stunts, and I felt so cool that I recognized him 8) I haven't finished the movie yet. Stopped to play hacky. EDIT: Also noticed Kevin Smith and the Klingon from Star Trek Voyager. If there was a geek smiley face, I would use it now!)

Conditioning session #009:
New move: far motion :D
I'm not quite sure why I decided to hit that out of the blue. Flip rolled off a ton, but it's my flip osis, which is SUPER weak, and it started to make my knee raw, so I had to stop :( I think I will start to do barflies a little, as long as my knees can deal with it. Locomotion shouldn't be too tough with a couple tries, but I wanted to hit flip before I try one-upping it.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I did some double spinning too; I'm going to do this every single day, I think, to get it consistent. And I did 20 contacts of osis > gyro clipper > osis > spinning clipper [repeat], but I can do more. I think I will warm up with that at sessions. I guess after the motions I decided to try some "more-than-tiltless" stuff. Yesterday's session was so sucky. It was raining, so my Climas got muddy, I destroyed a chunk of grass in the back yard, then slipped all over the patio, and got my bag, like, black. It was frustrating, but not extremely so, because footbag is awesome.

I made #022. I tried a new template a couple of new techniques. I stitched SUPER close to the edge, and I tried something on my corners (which, I think worked really well!) I think my distance from the edge varied over the course of the bag, so the first half looks SUPER nice, with super even stitching and perfectly gathered pents, but then the other half is just, like... I dunno. Blech. So the unevenness kind of makes it lopsided, so this one is just going on the shelf, but I learned a lot, and #023 or so should be nice.

Dave wanted me to send him a picture of the design for the 2005 Hackrifice shirt, so I decided to take a photo of the shirt, and figured that I would take a picture of all of my hacky sack shirts, since I've been meaning to do that but never really wanted to unfold them all and then have to refold them... So yeah, here they are:

Image
Planet footbag shirt I recently ordered from Alex. LOVE this shirt!

Image
In grey. There is also a little version of the logo on the bottom left of both shirts.

Image
KICKASS 2 baseball long-sleeve. I wear this one quite a bit. It's my "it's cold out" hack shirt, plus it's my only baseball shirt that fits as snug as I like.

Image
Flipsider shirt that Eli gave me for my birthday at the 'Erik Chan's birthday jam in Toronto", back in, like, 2004 or so? I was visiting Marita in Toronto for the first time, during her first year, and I met Camille and Andrew for the first time, and Eli phoned or emailed me saying that he wanted to come out and surprise everybody, and that was super cool. Caro came too, and I think Seb almost did. One of the random pictures at the top of Modified is a picture I took of Eli and Johnny at this gathering. Good times. I met Johnny for the first time there too, I think. And Tom Mosher, which was eventful :D
This was one of my favourite shirts for a long time, and it's very worn, but it's not quite tight enough for me :p

Image
Another of my favourite shirts. I was going to buy one from Mike when we first started hanging out, but then he just gave it to me because it was my birthday :D

Image
The back.
The first time that I saw this shirt was on the back of what was probably Ben Roscoe before I met him, when I happened to be in the same restaurant as him in Winnipeg. I never met him until, like, a year or 2 later...

Image
A shirt that Marita got me for Christmas one year, from Peter Irish's collection that he was selling.

Back.
I would so wear this if it wasn't a tent on me.

Image
Also definitely one of my favourite shirts! SO AWESOME! It was SO cool to see, like, 10 of these at Weed March! Yeah!

Image
The back. Mike Faille is a genius, and also my hero.

Another shirt from Peter Irish (I got three shirts from Marita)

would also be cool to wear if it fit.

Image
The only Hackrifice shirt that I kind of like. I think fit is a big part of that though, none of the other Hackrifice shirts fit me, so I don't like them. Oh yeah, so this is the one for Dave, that made me take all of these pictures. At Worlds he came into our house to hang out and I was wearing mine, and he was, like, "I'm so going to go put mine on now", so he ran back to his house and he did :D

Image
Rory's ShrEdmonton shirt.

Image
A Hackrifice shirt. 2003, it looks like. I'm pretty sure that, like, a CSS shirt ripped off our design. Like, CSS5? It's a picture of me... doing a non-reverse whirl move!!

Image
Most recent Hackrifice shirt. I realized while taking these pictures that I would probably like to wear this one if it wasn't a bit too bit and way too long. We ripped the logo off from, like... some movie logo. Like... we stole the ACTUAL logo and just threw in "Hackrifice" overtop :p

Image
2002... what? Net? :p
Actually, it's a cool design, I think. I like how the red hand comes up into the "C".

Image
2001, crew style. The regular shirts were white, and the "crew" shirts were green and said "crew" on the sleeve. I liked this one a lot, but it is too big now.

Image
Haha. A shirt that Sam Colclough made for me, umm, like... at either CSS4 or Shred Zero 2003. The original shirt is coming up somewhere. But he wanted to make a shirt and so I drew him a picture (and you can buy the shirt on Freedom nowadays, I've noticed), but he also made this ghetto thing and spelled my name wrong and then wrote over top when I corrected him. I think he shredded in it until it was sweaty and then gave it to me... I've since washed it...

Image
Closeup. Haha. Sam is awesome :D
Oh, someone at Worlds asked me what move it's supposed to be, and it's a vortex. I think it was maybe Kevin Crowley who asked.

Image
A CIC shirt that Zeke gave me when I was in Chicago a couple of years ago. I wish I could wear it, because his drawing on the back is soooo awesome, plus I looked up to CIC for YEARS when I started out... but it's literally a tent on me. It's like 3 times my body's width :p

Image
Awesome charicatures. They're so accurate. I don't know why Zeke always draws himself so angry looking though :p He's, like, the least angry guy...

Image
CSS shirt that came with my Peter Irish booty (and by booty I mean pirate booty...and by pirate booty I mean... oh never mind). I think it's CSS7.

Image
The shirt that I drew for Sam. He coloured it.

Image
Tshirt I won in some contest on Modified. I forget what even it was... Footjam? And everyone signed it, and there were like 3.

Image
My Worlds tshirt, on which I got lots of signatures (closeups in some past post)

Image
and the back. There was a red crew version of the shirt, and that would have been neat to have. It would have been neat to judge, but I also liked having no responsibilities at Worlds and getting to sleep in with my non-competing friends.

Oh, and here are some papers stuck to my brothers walls. He is a pastor, and he is very eccentric.
Image
This one's in the kitchen.

Image
I think this one's in the bathroom.

Image
This one's my favourite.

He's found a bunch of others. One really great one was something like, "Just as the deer pants for water, so my soul pants are for you". That one was actually a misprint in his bible, though, he discovered. There was also a really sexually explicit verse. Anyway, yes. Funny stuff. What an eccentric lad.

So, somehow Hackrifice is going to cost Andrew, like, $700... and it seems absolutely ridiculous to me. I felt bad, 'cause I was kind of telling him that tonight, after shred, and I got the impression that I bummed him out on his birthday (today). Blech; I hope not. Shirts apparently cost $500, but he could only get them in this huge quantity. Everybody who loves me should buy a shirt, because I may have to lend him money to cover it, and wouldn't get it back until shirt money came in. He's basically doing it out of his pocket, and that makes me feel terrible, especially since, like, nobody ever comes to stupid old Winnipeg in the middle of nowhere. I wanted to put up money to, like, fly Jorden out, maybe next year... but I think a tournament should be manageable on a tight budget... somehow Tom Mosher makes it look so incredibly easy. I've never even tried. I always just let Andrew and Joel do all of the work. I guess I don't care enough. I'd probably rather just not have a tournament, and save money to go to other tournaments, given the history of Hackrifice.

So that's my rant.
I hope Mike Faille manages to make it. That would really make it all worthwhile.

I played some hacky, too, but nothing really stood out. It gets dark so fast now, and we need an indoor shred spot. we may end up going with my Christmas tree living room again this winter... I guess that is dependent on whether I will be here after Christmas, or not.
Bleh. Too much writing. I'll try to remember some highlights:
-spikehammer BSOS
-stepping clipper > barfly BSOS (haven't done barflies for a few years).. something else cool BSOS on that run. Maybe it was ducking mirage > same eggbeater? I think so.
-some blurriests both sides.
-some twirls both sides (I'd written on my wrist (where I write my todo list) a note to myself to do double spinning and twirls today... the twirls were okay, but basically just by themselves, not in runs)
-mobius > far rev whirl BSOS was neat. Nothing new.
-bunch a flip bedwetters, and BSOSed it at least once, with a fog or two.
-rev whirlygig X 2 again (meant to try it from the other side, but it was post-shred, anyway).

Jess came out. That was nice, even if it was briefly, again. I keep meaning to take photos with my digital camera for the website, which I've been working on again. I want to redesign soon, but don't really have ideas. Dat wants me to get rid of the little windows, because they are restricting, so that is all I've got so far. I also want to work, HARDCORE, on my KICKASS video. I watched them for the first time in a while, and I am EXCITED! I am SO excited to make a DVD of this! It should be 45 minutes long or so, with lots of bonus, I hope. I also have that second Hackrifice DVD to clean up, and probably have enough material to start a third! Heck yeah :D So yeah... watching my KICKASS videos made me excited, plus they are minimally edited, which I kind of like, and which will make it less of a pain to continue. Also, I have some good, refreshing ideas for minimalistic editing. Should be fun, and I don't have a job. Wee hee!

I enjoyed the shirt photos. I used to have a ton of shirts too, but since I never wore them I sent them to Japan to be used as tournament prizes. They love rare/random footbag shirts there.

For the record, the CSS shirt with the blender is from CSS2 (possibly CSS3, but I'm pretty sure its CSS2).

$500 for t-shirts is pretty steep. The most I've ever paid for t-shirts was $250ish (30 t-shirts/1 color/bothsides). I think Tom can do the t-shirts cheap because he screen prints them himself. This year I changed the purchasing format to preorder/prepay and then mailout delivery. I was able to deliver most of the t-shirts at worlds (which was lucky), but even the ones I had to mail it was only $3-4 canadian/shirt for postage. Anyways, we didn't lose money on t-shirts this year and I actually sold about 30% more t-shirts than previous years.

Yeah, Tom even offered to do the shirts for us :?

Conditioning session #010 (070924):
-reverse swirl X2 BSOS (tiltless, as are my C.S.s)
-reverse swirl > twirl [both sides]

I think god wants me to have awesome style or something... that seems to be logical reasoning behind my injuries and schooling awesome components like rev swirls, double spinning, and osii! This could be really awesome in the long run, like how I learned to spin and duck. I also did far clipper > rev swirl > same clipper > rev swirl [repeat] > far clipper > rev swirl > far clipper... And I did all of my clipper-set ducking 2s out of osis, which was neat. Not together or in the same run... so it's not really impressive, but felt cool. The diving legovers and pickups were the hardest out of osis.

I drink bubble tea twice, almost daily. I love it. My pineapple is incredible. Man alive. I acquired some new PS2 games recently. Resident Evil 4 is kinda cool, but way too scary for me to play. Haha. Whoa! Speaking of which, I hope the movie is good. I LOOVE the first one, but the second one was really bad.

Actually my knees hurt a bit from the rev swirls now :(
I'm going to a Loreena McKennitt concert tomorrow. She is a local celtic musician who is incredible. I grew up on her. Here is a video I made back in 2003 to one of her songs, actually the one I have stuck in my head right now :D http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/-7330

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also hit spinning osis > gyro osis [repeat], which is a dream combo. It took, like, maybe two tries, or something, and it seemed way too easy! I guess schooling osis every day is paying off
EDIT 2: I finally got my hands on Ico. I don't think many people know about it, so I can't really just leave it at that. It's by the team who made Shadow of the Colossus, which was one of that games that I got my PS2 for. Shadow of the Colossus was incredible, but it'd been a while since I'd played it and forgot its awesomeness. I just played about 6-7ish save points of Ico, and it seems to be almost identical to Shadow of the Colossus. The world is so similar that it seems like a prequel, there are even the same shadow creatures, except this time you fight them instead of colossi (I think that might be the actual pluralization), and the main difference is that it is much more problem-solving oriented. I had to check a walkthrough twice to get started. It's really similar in that dialogue is absolutely minimal and the story is really open and...ambiguous. It's so enthralling! Oh yeah, and to make the problem solving even more of a challenge you have to lead this princess-like girl around by the hand (which is really cute), and she can't do everything you can, so you have to run off and figure out ways to help her, like, open doors, and climb walls and stuff. Video games! Zeb Jackson will love these games, I think; I think we are on a similar video game wavelength.
