Double Mirage (Barrage)
Moderator: Muffinman
I just have to add this:
School Double Pickup lots. This will DEFINATELY help to do barrages cleanly.
Set a bit higher than knee.
This trick is not about speed, just relax and concentrate on each dex.
Also, it is good to move body. From LEFT FOOT CLIPPER, as you do the first dex do a little hop towards the right, so in effect the bag is set straight and YOU move.

Yeh this move can be totally relaxed and slow if you are accurate with the dexes.

Andrew does the clip set barrage too much whirly in that instruction video.
Here's my tip video of near, toe set and pdx:

I just started working on toe-set barrage. After watching the video & reading the tips I still have some questions.
First, here's how I'm attempting the trick, let me know if I should change any of this:
- Setting a little over waist-high.
- Attacking the bag with the first dex, really twisting inward to the bag peak time & then back outward over it just after if peaks
- I get the first dex, then try to make the motion continuous with my leg in the same position
I don't think I'm really jumping like Anz was in his video, I do get up onto my toes though. And yes I've already hit this from clipper.
So this leads to my questions:
- I should try jumping, right?
- Should my dexing leg be in the same position throughout the trick, or should I extend the knee (straighten out my leg) to get the second dex?
- Any tips on knowing when I'm hitting it clean (I don't have a camera)?
Thanks!

You definitely need to jump for this move. I'm a little unsure how you can hit it without jumping. If you think of the two separate actions; one foot is doing the dexes, the other foot needs to be off the ground and getting in position for the toe stall. You can't have one foot doing the dexes, and the other foot off the ground, without jumping.
If you hit the move well (good form and cleanly) you should land straight and well balanced. It shouldn't feel like you've had to scoop the toe stall at all, but that you had heaps of time for it and it was easy.
I try to think of it as mirage with the first dex at peak time, and then the second dex just following on from that. Of course I can hit more down time barrages, but I think if you want to do moves more downtime and faster, the first step is doing them as slowly and easily as possible; after that it's just the same thing but quicker

I find the first dex in a toe barrage to be a bit whrily. It really helps to attack the first dex, the earlier you can start dexing the better. Try to get your setting leg down quickly and start dexing early. I find a small hip pivot to help as well, but this is up to you. Jeremy is right, try not to scoop the bag.
It might help to drill the following moves: clipper set barrage, clipper set double pickup, toe op pickup and toe op whirl
good luck

Plant the pixie foot as fast as possible. The less you can lift the pixie foot off the ground for the set the easier the move is. I tend to find I set too low for this move, rather than too high - so make sure you're getting the set at a good height - about waist height. Attack the second dex as early as you can (Well almost - it's not a frantic set, attack as early as you can, but with the same style as a toe barrage).

Oof pixie barrage is tough. Thanks for the tips, like you said - keeping the pixie foot low is necessary for the jump for barrage, but its hard for me to set high enough to barrage while also keeping the pixie foot low.
I hit at least one clean toe-set barrage though, so the tips & video were a huge help. Thanks everybody!

pixie barrage
Did you have any luck with that move?
I'm not sure why, but I have a bit of trouble cleaning this move with shoes on, barefoot is clean though

Nope, I've gotta get back to the drawing board on this one. My toe set barrage is shoey/toey at best & tends to diminish in quality very quickly. Like it was most solid after an hour of watching the videos & reading tips, but then a week later I was just kind of flailing around & hoping.
Pixie set version isn't realistic yet, but I keep trying it just for fun. It would be a fluke if I did hit it. The big trouble is I can't seem to attack the second dex fast enough.

Dexes should be fast and downtime. I don't think about it whirly. Plant fast. Start dexing, high knee bend, and fast tight dexes while you land. I feel like you have a great window while you're landing with this move since you jump high and have your knee high up, as opposed to paradon or something.
