Mutations that cause change in a species over a period of time comes from the copying of DNA when a new creature is made. I dunno what the fuck you were on about with the hetero and homo whatever, but its wrong.

You could bash the shit out of my head with a baseball bat, but i'm still gonna have kids with an IQ of 185 - just because I'm awesome (not that i want to or am going to have kids). Mutations aren't any different. getting skin cancer doesn't mean you're more likely to pass it on - thats just absurd.

The above description of evolution is almost flawless, except I would use the word "survive" rather than "breed". The adaption doesn't nessecarily have to do with the breeding, but the survival of the species. With more survival comes more breeding oppurtunities. So in essence, breeding is right, but survival is slightly more percise, in my opinion.
You'll find that all the animals that live for a long time only produce a few offspring. Look at us. Flies, like someone mentioned on the other hand breed like wildfire. Of course you get organisms like bacteria that just pwn because they often have long survival times and high rates of reproduction.

What you said works in theory but survival time in reality doesn't have a massive amount to do with the amount you reproduce. Consider menopause. When our life expectancy was like 30 we didn't have any less kids than we do now.

[jrstubs]Doesn't anybody realize that once you die absolutely nothing happens, With your body dead you have no sense of anything, no feeling, smell, thought, anything...you just don't exist anymore.[/quote]

Of course you exist, what are you talking about. No chemicals are removed from your body when you 'die'. They just don't react like they would when you're 'alive'.

But thanks for pointing out that you can't smell, feel or think when you're dead. Would never have crossed my mind.

Plus, even if there's no evidence of any links to bad results from a vaccination: just because someone isn't religious, that doesn't automatically mean they're not stupid or ignorant for some other reason. (triple negative? ) Even non-religious people have been misinformed about health issues.

Let's not be unfair to religious people in general. I have encountered parents* who don't want their children learning about safe sex because they think it'll lead to their kids having sex earlier. If they can believe that, I bet the same thing could happen with making sex safer through a shot. It doesn't mean that's the majority of people, (and definitely doesn't mean they're right,) but I bet there are some people some where who are so close minded or naive.
good point(s). But I don't get why athiest parents wouldn't want their kids having sex earlier if its safe. Apart from perhaps being a waste of 15 minutes that could have been spent doing homework.

That cartoon was so funny, hahaha.

That's as ignorant as saying "Doesn't anybody realise that when you die you go to heaven and live with jesus and you exist for eternity".

Yeah man, you're way ahead of anyone else. Noone's ever considered or 'realized' anything so deep and complex. You truly are a genius.

I completely disagree Jamie.

As far as we can see, when somebody dies, their body behaves exactly as it would if there was nothing remotely like life after death. We know that damage to the brain (that doesn't kill people) often lowers their levels of consciousness, and that the less somebodies brain is functioning their body can function.

The only logical assumption is that when people die, they lose all their senses; especially because people can lose all those senses mentioned without dying due to losing parts of their brain.

On the other hand, there is absolutely no evidence at all that suggests any kind of life after death.

I suggest you read Dying to Live: Near-Death Experiences by Susan Blackmore if you want to know more about how much we know about the function of the brain and what happens when you die. She's one of the leading experts on the field (of DEATH).

We can't be 100% sure that there is no life after death of course, but there is a wealth of evidence suggesting that that is the case; compared with the "heaven" theory, which has all the hallmarks of being something people made up without any evidence at all. It's not even a theory based on the misinterpretations of evidence that we can now explain in a more accurate manner (such as the light at the end of the tunnel experience).

So you can't say that claiming there is no life after death is just as "ignorant" as claiming that "heaven" exists. A good analogy would be saying that claiming Jessica Alba is hot is the same as claiming that Fabio is gay.

I was referring to the assertion that he knows what happens after death... maybe not quite as ignorant as the heaven belief, I'll grant that ;)

I prefer to take the viewpoint that I don't know what happens after death.

I prefer the viewpoint that your body stops functioning and you lose conciousness. That is all. Amazing that it has been the topic of thousands of years of discussion. What a waste of time.

That's called a wet dream or nocturnal emission. They are common in pubescent boys and young adults. Way to go!

Naw, it's just that Ted got to go to the Hall of Fame.
