NYFA: Picture are up!
Everyone should make it to this tournament! Grow an extra layer of skin so you can beat the cold!
I'm going to see if I can find a host hotel to have people stay in. Somewhere that is hopefully close to the event site, and affordable. I'm also going to ask some friends if they can offer some space for people to crash in. I think I was offerred a place in Staten Island, but I doubt people would like that idea.
I don't know if I have any crash space at my house. My family is in some talks of having a few relatives staying in the next month or so, and my sister and her family have routinely been coming over to eat at dinner. It's held in the living room of our household, which can interfere with the crash space as well.
I don't know.
If anyone wants to sponsor anything for prizes in the freestyle singles, shred 30 and big 3 categories, please don't hesitate in sending them to Barrett or myself. Please e-mail me at [email protected] or PM me for my address.

"Footbag can be pretty frustrating when it's supposed to be fun. I was partly driven by this forum - practice, practice, practice... As that is true, I think someone can be too focused on progressing and training that they miss the fun aspect of it." - Bander87

So Malcolm and I started shooting the Doc today, mostly went around trying to find sponsors, most places said I have to contact their corporate head quarters, which wasn't a shock, I need to talk to their marketing director. Started doing some interviews too, first with this random drunk guy, who kept telling us he had to piss and he wanted us to film it, haha, and then we got him to try to kick it and he didnt do half bad considering he could barely stand. then a bunch of skateboarders, i asked one if he knew what Footbag was and he was like "Yea Hackysack, my uncles a Hippie!" or something to that extent. Oh and were being sponored by Freedom Footbags thanks Daryl! All around a great day up untill both our backpacks got locked in the post production center of our school. But ill get it tomorrow. If anyone is interested in doing an interview about the sport let me know Ill set it up. Anyway stay tuned to the adventures of Documenting a tournament Director. Were doing some more shooting on monday so Ill keep you posted

This is really coming together
So glad to hear this tournament is happening! What a great opportunity for people to play footbag and see NYC!
Early November in NYC has decent weather, we played outside in November last year.
I may have cash space but I have to check with my mum before volunteering.

crash space
I offer my floor to two people BUT 1) I live in Brooklyn, which means 1 hour commute to Manhattan, 2) I live with my mum so that means quiet after 10pm, 3) It's a small apartment
About the space: it's free, it's in my room, I have a foldaway bed, sleeping beg and pillows. You can use the bathroom and kitchen.
I prefer the occupants to be female, but what are the chances. Anyway my boyfriend will be crashing too so males are allowed.
PM me if interested.

denise & me are coming to new york also - but we didn't know that you are having a tournament. now the flights back are booked for the 10th
maybe I can still change something, but oversees are quite complicated to change. anyway, we're taking our quantums with - that's for sure!
we're looking for a place to sleep - we're four people and need a place from the 31oct - 10thnov. if it'S close (or not tooo far from harlem) i'd be reaaly cool. Of course we can pay, it'S just that im finding really expensive stuff over thei nternet. so maybe one of your fathers owns a hotel, or a mother owns an appartment - i'd be really thankful!

I'll throw this out there: I have crash space at my apartment in Hoboken. One couch, enough room for at least 3 on the floor. And I will be going out and drinking at night, so it is recommended that you be 21
. Hoboken is across the river from NYC and it takes approx 30 minutes to get to the venue from my apartment. PM me if you're interested.

Required documents for Canadians traveling to the US by AIR, LAND, and SEA.
Note that land and sea travel do not require a passport, and air does. Also note that land and sea travel WILL require a passport in the fairly near future (summer 2008).
